Blair Technology Group is a computer refurbishing and re-marketing company. We specialize in commercial grade equipment procured from government institutions and corporations across the US and Canada. This equipment is brought to our facility in Northern Kentucky, where our staff processes over 60,000 units a year.

Rating + 1 Missing parts and no communication

I cannot test the computer Blair sent because essential parts that are clearly shown in the sales page image were ripped out of the case leaving an ugly hole instead. I sent Blair a nice message asking them to help restore functionality, but no response. I wish I read the negative reviews here before I made the mistake of buying from Blair. Can't Newegg deal with better quality vendors?

Rating + 5 Dell E6410 Refurb Win 7 Pro

Bought two of these due to the nice price; the external VGA hook-up and some other nice features including new batteries . Very nice laptop. Had a couple of problems trying to create a system Image with the small system partition (shadow copy problem), but to my surprise Blair Technology was super accommodating. Exceeded my service expectations in solving the problem. They even called me FIRST after I sent an email. I very seldom get that level of attention as a buyer anymore. Pleasant surprise. I have to recommend these folks due to their service availability and their quality, clean product. I think if my problem went unresolved I would have had no problem getting a replacement or refund. Thanks Blair Technology.

Laptop battery was advertised as new - had physical damage - had date tag of August 2010 - everything pointed to being the original battery for this laptop, NOT a new battery as advertised - also had technical problems with screen saver and other timed behaviors never activating - vendor agreed to refund but email didn't go out systematically and I had to ask again to receive it - refund process was completed but was slow and convoluted - better vendors out there - I would not do business with BTG again

Rating + 3 Dell Latitude E6410 Notebook - New Battery

Specifically listed in the product title the notebook was supposed to ship with a new battery. Not only did it not come with a new battery, it took longer to ship than the 3-5 business days that was promised. It was refurbished but had a loose panel on the bottom/rear of notebook near display port. Also, a generic charger shipped with the notebook. It got extremely hot and started making popping noises when first plugged in. I just bought a Dell charger for 25$. Did not want to risk my house burning down because of a defective generic charger. Will most likely not purchase from BTG again.

You are getting a refurbished unit, and it looks that way. You can not say it looks new but the buyer knows that so no complaints, however until you get it you do not realize that the laptop battery itself is still the original. You may get 30 mins of battery life or you may get 2 hours of I am getting a little over an hour and the unit bottom does get hot.

Computer works and looks pretty good except for a couple of missing feet. The problem is that they advertised this laptop as including a new battery but they did not send a new battery, it has a scuffed up old battery (they finally changed the description and removed that portion yesterday)

Not a Happy Camper

Rating + 1 Not a good experience

I recently purchased a re-furbished laptop from the Blair Technology Group. After I placed the order, I waited nearly 2 weeks and heard nothing from Blair. I contacted New Egg and was instructed to contact Blair directly. Within a couple of hours, I heard from 2 reps from BTG. One said they were running behind on the orders and that my unit should be shipped on Monday (this conversation happened on a Thursday). The other one told me they were a least 2 weeks behind and that it would be another 7-10 days before my laptop shipped. As it turns out, neither knew what they were talking about and the unit showed up the next morning. Nothing has gone right since then. I couldn't activate the system due to a screw up with the Microsoft serial numbers and then it turns out the unit had Lo-jack installed by previous user and it wasn't de-activated by BTG. It's cost me a bundle to get this unit up and running. Very poor service, rushed, and careless mistakes cost this user far too much.

Rating + 1 STAY AWAY

I literally cancelled my personal newegg premier and my business account which we spend on average around 8-10K per month. Newegg can't help with any of the issues you are gonna have with these con artists, but the fact they approved them as a marketplace seller made me decide I no longer will do anymore business with Newegg. It's too bad this site went from the outright best online electronics store there to another useless, who has no customer service and only works as a marketplace and selling trash from 3rd party sellers. I will not be back on newegg Good luck to anyone that sees that

Rating + 4 Lack of Communication

While the machine I purchased from them arrived in perfect working order and suits my needs quite well I was somewhat annoyed by the fact that the item took two weeks to ship without a single update to the tracking info for that first week. Contacting Newegg got the tracking info updated but there is still no response from them to an e-mail sent to them by Newegg requesting an update just over a week ago now.

Rating + 4 Better service, in the end

I'm revising my previous review. The company did make their mistake right. they shipped wrong product, but in the end they paid for the return shipping, and gave a full refund.

-which they didn't have to do. this helped me, as I ordered another laptop (used), and it was delivered faster than could be if it was a replacement. (probably save a week).

in the end Blair did the right thing, and an honest mistake. I would give then another try, if I needed a used pc or laptop.

RMA Policy
    Customers wishing to return and item must contact our customer service department and submit an RMA form. The refund period is 30 days after invoice. Returns after the initial 30 day period will be for replacement only.
RMA instructions

We strongly recommend you return your item in the same or similar packaging as they were delivered to you with all the original parts, accessories and menu/documentation included (any missing parts or accessories may result your return being rejected or your refund/replacement being delayed). Re-using the package your item came in is acceptable, as long as the packaging is in good condition and all previous addresses, tracking information and labels are removed.
