5 out of 5 eggsSturdy

Pros: Waterproof. I submerged it in water for a few seconds and there was no leakage. Due to clever design, this drive is reasonably shock-resistant. When fully closed, each end of the aluminum casing is wrapped in a rubberized band. I dropped the device and it bounced back several times (kind of like a rubber ball) before coming to a stop. This memory stick really shines when plugged to USB 3.0 port. I placed a folder with about 4.2 GB worth of video files on it (average single layer DVD size), and then transferred the folder back to my PC over USB 3.0 port. The transfer took just shy of 2 minutes with average transfer speed of 36 MB/s. The same transfer took over 3 min over USB 2.0 port, with the connection speed never really passing sustained 26 MB/s. For the write speed test, I took a folder with about 20 GB worth of video files and sent it to the device over USB 3.0. it reached sustained speeds of about 28 MB/s. It appears, the drive get roughly half of the advertised read/write speeds. The device does not get hot, even after prolonged use.

Cons: The rubber “o” ring, which makes the device waterproof, also requires considerable amount of force to be applied before the treads catch on. Furthermore, the threads are not lubricated. The aluminum case squeaks when you screw it on and off. It takes some force to fully close the device. This USB memory stick cannot be detached from its case. I would personally like the option to detach the device from its base.

Overall Review: The device is bulky but sturdy, and gives you that “warm and fuzzy” trusting feeling. I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a flash drive that is reasonably durable. It seems much more durable than many USB flash drives out there. Device is formatted for FAT file system. You might want change it to NFTS (for windows folks) if you plan on using any encryption. For those who care, this device is “ReadyBoost” ready.

5 out of 5 eggsRock solid and super sexy!

Pros: The Corsair Survivor Stealth has a very solid, heavy feel in your hand. It's very rugged and attractive with a military style design.

It is quite large at just over 3" long.

This flash drive has a blinking blue LED activity light.

The rubber grips at both ends of the canister are easily removable to give a more flush feel and look.

The endcap has a hole drilled through the aluminum for a lanyard or other tether.

Windows 7 recognizes the drive as a ReadyBoost capable device.

Cons: The size of this drive makes it a nuisance to carry in your pocket or on a key ring. A lanyard is probably a must.

The before mentioned rubber grips may accidentally come off and could be easily lost.

The threaded screw cap is bare metal-on-metal and makes a horrible high-pitched squeeking sound when unscrewing the cap. Nothing a little gun oil or threadlocker can't fix though.

Overall Review: The Survivor comes preformatted Fat32 file system with a 16mb allocation. PC-only users may want to reformat with NTFS before using the drive.

I'm upgrading to this drive from an ADATA S102 16GB USB3.0 drive, which was an excellent performer with massive read/write speeds.

Have not been able to test read/write speeds yet on the Survivor. Given the larger capacity and USB3.0 interface, I'm sure I won't be too disappointed, however I know it probably won't have the same performance of the S102.

5 out of 5 eggsSturdy, speedy, reliable portable USB3.0 storage

Pros: This is a large 32GB capacity mass USB storage device that can take a beating and just work. Speedy USB3.0 write speeds were pushing between 48-51 MB/s, read speeds were between 79-85 MB/s: with USB2.0 write speeds pushing between 26-28 MB/s, read speeds between 30-33 MB/s (expected speeds for both USB 2.0 and 3.0). The casing is a nice flat black aluminum that is ridged on the end caps to provide some grip on twisting on and off the end cap (the end cap has a rubber washer to make it waterproof. The end cap that unscrews has a lanyard attachment as well. Inside you will find the USB drive itself with a blue LED to indicate transfer of data when plugged in. Since the drive is designed to take abuse I decided to torture test it out. I tied the drive to a rock and dropped it in a pond on my property where it sat on the bottom of the pond for 2 days - the depth it was at was roughly 9 meters (29.5 feet). It is advertised to survive up to 200 meters (656 feet), which is very impressive. After the 3 days sitting under water I retrieved the drive, opened the end cap to find everything dry, plugged it into a computer and it mounted perfectly. This thing is definitely waterproof. I also tossed it off a 4 story building about a dozen times and though the external casing received some abrasion and scratches, the drive itself mounted when plugged in - great shock proofing.

Cons: The end cap that is removable squeaks horribly due to the metal on metal of the threads. Some may find this annoying, though it's a must for durability and being waterproof. Some graphite lubricant may solve the issue but I personally did not want to possibly contaminate the drive connections.

Overall Review: Despite being made completely of aircraft grade aluminum, the external casing is very lightweight. I'm still amazed about how durable this drive is, yet still very light. Additionally, it would have been nice is Corsair would have provided a nice lanyard for the device - the attachment point is there for one. The entire device is a little larger than a normal flash drive, but not overly large. A little too big to fit on a keychain and in your pocket, but still small enough to put in your pocket alone, or around your neck on a lanyard. Overall, this is a very speedy, and very, very durable USB flash drive. Device comes pre-formatted as FAT32 - I formatted to NTFS in my testing and daily use. My results were on an ASUS Sabertooth mobo, X58 chipset.

5 out of 5 eggsthe thing that I could not destroy

Pros: Water resistant, Black matte finish, Usb 3.0 and it’s very tough. I worked as a mechanic for two weeks with this drive in my pocket. I had a transmission bump it hard (enough to leave a mark on my leg) and the data and drive came out great. I now use it on my Roku box and in my Car for media and MP3 playback.

Cons: The sticker came off ;) I cannot find anything wrong with this drive.

Overall Review: I would in a second, buy another one! I showed it to a friend and he ordered one from newegg. Great product, fast shipping. I put this thing thru extreme conditions and it worked and still does work like a champ. It's very easy to use, Just plug in and load it up. It works great on my PC, my Mac book, my car deck and a roku box. This is a solid product that I plan to enjoy for a long time.

5 out of 5 eggscoarsair survivor 32 gig

Pros: Duribility, Waterproof to 656 feet deep more than i will ever need, Great for on the go and no need to worry about washing it with clothes. Is 3.25 inches long and 3/4 inches round made from high strength aluminium. Backwards compatible with usb 2.0 but does alot better in a 3.0 port. Tested at 42.7MBps on usb 3.0 and in a usb 2.0 ran at 27.1 MBps. Attachment on end to put a keychain thru for added security against loss. This is a USB drive that will last for years even with abuse.

Cons: Only con i found is it is hard to unscrew the top to be able to insert into usb port. In testing i used a variety of lubes to see what would help. I finally settled on a ele. grease clear and now it unscrews easily and doesnt affect the watertight seal at all.

Overall Review: Felt i had to test this thoroughly to give an accurate review. Things i did, dropped in a 5 gal bucket of water for an hour and didnt leak at all and still worked. I really wanted to know about the duribility of it so i threw it about 25 foot on a concrete floor numerious times and it still worked. Next i took brake clean ( same as putting it in gas ) and dropped it in a cup of it the only results at this time was just a bit of fadding on the case it didnt effect performance or the watertight seal was in it for 5 minutes even. Then back in the 5 gallon bucket of water to make sure it was still watertight. Transfered numerious 1 and 2 gig files to it and then reformatted and still the transfer rates stayed steady. When i read reviews on usb drives the main complaints were they left it in clothes and put it in washer or they lost it due to nothing to connect it too. With this both problems have been addressed. Corsair has been paying attention to customer demand, Customers want something they can trust with their information and not worry about water or shock within reason. Good job with this drive. This drive is heavier than most are used to but it is worth it for what you get. I wont ever buy a regular usb drive again i want what i buy to last. Money well spent pure value.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value, robust and speedy flash drive.

Pros: Large Capacity, Aluminum Case, Waterproof. USB 3.0, Blue LED, 5 year warranty, great price.

Cons: Formatted capacity reduced from 32gb to 29.8gb. Initially formatted in FAT 32. No lanyard cord, metal on metal thread squeaks terribly.

Overall Review: I have been looking for a large capacity Flash Drive to replace the six or so I regularly use with 4gb capacity. Over the years I have sat on my flash drives, trodden on them and otherwise destroyed them so I have really been looking for something a little more robust. About a year ago I updated my motherboard to USB 3.0 so it made sense to look at a flash drive that had USB 3.0 functionality. Enter the Corsair Survivor 32gb flash drive. I was quite excited to get hold of this flash drive as I have run out of space on my smaller drives and wanted to consolidate all my emergency boot and security files on to one flash drive. Initially I was stumped as I was unable to copy across my security file, I was told that there was not enough room in the flash drive! This is not accurate as my security file is a little over 5gb in size. It took me a little time to realize that this drive had left Corsair formatted in FAT 32 and of course the maximum file size that FAT 32 can handle is 4gb. Quickly fixed by re-formatting in NTFS, although strange choice of Corsair to format in FAT 32 (not worth removing any eggs for this though). I was dubious of the speed difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 (assuming you have native USB 3.0 motherboard capability), but the drive certainly felt faster when writing to and reading from it. I ran some tests in Sandra and was extremely surprised to find that USB 3.0 was over 100% faster than USB 2.0 (77mb/s vs 32mb/s), IOPS were even more telling showing a clear speed benefit when formatted in NTFS instead of FAT 32 (1000 vs 575). This is a truly speedy flash drive. This drive comes with a long 5 year warranty and is built like a brick outhouse. My five year old likes to play with my tech toys and to my horror I found him playing with this drive in his bath. I have never needed to test the waterproof capabilities of a flash drive before but I sure am happy to report that this flash drive is indeed fully waterproof. This drive will last me a long time, I completely recommend it, it is fast, tough, great value and comes with excellent warranty. Just remember for best performance format in NTSC especially if you want to use it with files that hold more than 4gb of data.

4 out of 5 eggsTough as Old Boots

Pros: Aesthetically this is a pleasing drive to look at, it is a very chunky piece of kit, and is not one that you are going to lose easily or indeed damage, (if it is in it's case), unless you happen to have an M1 tank to hand! The case is anodized aluminum and has large two rubber rings around it, somewhat like tires, one of which is marked to indicate that this is the end that should be unscrewed. Thoughtful that, as I can see trying to unscrew the wrong end being somewhat problematical! There is a hole in the cap through which a fairly substantial lanyard could be threaded, this also gives a big clue as to which end is which.

Unscrewing the cap is not easy, it requires a fair amount of force and it does result in a horrendous squealing noise. When unscrewed, the cap has the flash drive mounted in it. The drive itself is also encased in what appears to be aluminum with a blue indicator LED mounted at the end. I'm glad of that, occasionally I use flash drives with Apples and OS X has a tendency to lie about when a flash drive is ready to be pulled. The flashing LED ceases well after OS X says it is OK to pull the drive, of course this you can only observe if the drive you are using has an LED in the first place. The drive + cap is about 3"" long so this isn't one that's going to be easily lost in or out of the case.

USB 3.0 performance is very good, I was consistently getting 80 MB/s read and 47 MB/s write speeds. USB 2.0 is also pretty good with 28 MB/s and 19 MB/s obtained for reading and writing respectively and it is the fastest USB drive I've seen on my laptop. My WIN7 laptop recognized this and even offered to use it as a readyboost drive which is no mean feat as my laptop has an SSD as its main drive and I haven't seen this option triggered by any flash drive I've plugged in since I installed the SSD. 32GB is the largest USB flash drive I've experienced and this coupled with USB 3.0 speeds, and robustness make this a very attractive purchase.

Cons: Apart from it's sheer size, which you will presumably know this before you buy and may indeed be a Pro for you, the only cons are:

1) The lanyard hole, would be helped immensely if a matching lanyard was included

2) The USB plug on the drive I received had about 1.5mm of play moving from side to side and about half of that up and down. This I think is a potentially serious problem that could get worse with repeated use. With increased play you have an increased stress on any soldered connections connecting the drive itself to the plug. I have had a few flash drives fail because of this sort of thing in the past. I would much prefer that this ""robust"" device had the plug set in place with epoxy resin.

3) Heat: after about 15 minutes of testing and messing around I did notice that the drive was very warm, to be fair not excessively so but may be an issue in warmer climates.

4) Rubber grips, I think these should probably have been secured to the body in some way as I have managed to twist them off on a couple of occasions.

Overall Review: Out of curiosity I loaded up the Stealth with Windows 8 To Go, to see how it performed. After an extremely long installation process, more to do with Windows than the Stealth drive, the Stealth booted my Laptop quite happily into Windows 8 64 To Go. Under USB 2.0 it would only be useful as a last resort, it was however usable and with the correct windows 8 64 bit drivers for USB 3.0, something I'm waiting for, it will probably be very usable.

The tough aluminum casing has an 'o' ring seal on its screw cap making this drive waterproof to a depth of 200m. Not having over 600 feet of water anywhere close by we'll have to take the manufacturer's word on that one. The case certainly does seem to be very robust and I can see applications for it in the 'wild'. For your average flash drive user it may well be a bit of overkill unless you like its looks. Even if you don't work in a challenging environment I can see this drive being attractive. Apart from its speed, there may be a certain cachet associated with having one of these hanging around your neck, it is certainly not one that is going to disappear easily. If a lanyard had been included you might have been able to use it in self defense! My one major qualm is the longevity of the drive, the looseness of the USB plug will have a negative impact on this and so 4 eggs rather than 5. I may do a bit of rework on that myself with some elephant glue or epoxy putty.

4 out of 5 eggswell worth it's value

Pros: The casing is very solid. I've thrown it into the pool and carried it through rainy days and it kept its seal from the water. Transfer rate for read were in the Mid 70s MB/s over usb 3.0 and write speed was in the mid 30s MB/s testing with ATTO on my laptop. The 5 year warranty seems very handy and is excellent from this well known memory company.

Cons: FAT32limits the files for saving to <4GB so backups of ISOs are difficult without more compression. It's very bulky. Corsair should have provided a small USB extension to keep it from hanging off the side of something to break off. the case is time consuming to have to screw open because of the rubber seal.

Overall Review: The casing, as great as it is will not protect it from high magnetic sources, still. I've used it on very old computers, on HDTVs for photos/videos, and on numerous newer laptops via USB 3.0 and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a more rugged, dependable, long 5yr warranty external memory stick

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Performance and Durability

Pros: First impression was that this flash drive is very robust in its build quality. Next thing you are likely to notice is the size of the physical drive and enclosure. Alongside that it has an o ring seal to keep water out when it is closed in its case.
Assuming you are like me when looking at flash drive reviews here is the performance portion of the review in read and write tests.
The hard drive it reading from and writing to is a current generation SATA 6.0gb/s SSD. The large files are video files over 2gb in size each. Small files are a 500mb folder of pictures.
USB 3.0
Write:
Large Files 46 Megabytes a second
Small Files 27-32 Megabytes a second
Read:
Large Files 56 Megabytes a second
Small Files 36-54 Megabytes a second
USB 2.0
Write:
Large Files 22 Megabytes a second
Small Files 12-18 Megabytes a second
Read:
Large Files 23 Megabytes a second
Small Files 22 Megabytes a second
Overall those numbers really show the advantage of the USB 3.0 and the fact that corsair is using some decent memory in these drives to get the speeds shown above. Using USB 2.0 will bottleneck the performance but you will at least get the benefit of fully saturating your USB 2.0 bus.

Cons: Size would be the only con that comes to mind but if you are buying this you are well aware that it is larger than most flash drives. If you plan on carrying it around in your pocket you will know it is there, it will not disappear into your pocket like smaller flash drives.

Overall Review: I attached this flash drive to my keychain to see if the black paint on it would wear off with the constant rubbing on the keys. I essentially expected this to happen. After a week of being in my pocket with my keys there are absolutely no signs of wear on the flash drive. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of construction of this flash drive.
In addition to that I decided to test the waterproof feature of the drive enclosure and ran it though the washing machine. It came out and when I opened it up it was perfectly dry on the inside, the o ring seal did its job perfectly.
If you can get over the size of the drive and are looking for a robust flash drive that can stand up to some physical abuse this drive is for you. I do not really see a way of damaging this drive when in is being stored in its case.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Corsair has made a very nice product with the Survivor Stealth. While USB3, this drives works perfect on USB2 machines also.
Read speeds are impressive on USB3 @ 83 MB/s (32 MB/s USB2). Write speeds cruze right along @ 43 MB/s on USB3 (30 MB'/s USB2).
The rubber seal leaves no doubt this drive is water-proof. It reminds me very much of a Mag-light and how they seal. The sturdy aluminum case is crush-proof. If you break this drive, your definitely doing something wrong. The drive itself has a very cool look that is sure to elevate you above the average geek! Then there is Corsair’s commitment to quality and service. I have used many of their products for years and only ever sent in one warranty. Their service dept was quick to help with my problem and they have gained a lifelong customer.

Cons: The cap fits tight and likes to squeak when opening or closing. I’m not sure a tight fit is bad in this case. Just like my Mag-lights, I use a dab of Vaseline on the threads and o-ring. It really helps and stays clean.
Could be a tight fit between back USB ports, but this is not really a problem when connecting to the front of my case where there is plenty of room.

Overall Review: The external rubber grips are optional and make the drive slimmer and easier to get in/out of your pockets when removed. Even removed, the drive looks fine and is still easy to grip and open.

If your looking for a tactical, zombie-proof flash driver...look no further, Corsair has your answer!

5 out of 5 eggs32GB Corsair Survivor Stealth

Pros: orks beautifully - ATTO Benchmark results:

83.7 MB/s Read - 43.7 MB/s Write

Love the durability, especially after going through couple 32gb drives in about a year.

Benchmarked on a Asus P9X79 Deluxe motherboard, straight backplane usb 3.0 port with latest usb driver

Cons: Only con would be bare metal on metal threads, it needs some lube or non-toxic anti-seize or something. But you can always add a little dab yourself

Overall Review: Would highly recommend this to any computer repair or anyone that needs an extremely durable usb drive that travels with them on a daily basis

5 out of 5 eggsFast & reliable

Pros: I own several similar models of the Corsair Survivor flash drives including the Stealth 32GB one.
They never failed (so far), they never succumbed to reasonable amount of abuse of daily field work. Speeds are great, too.
The Stealth model looks cooler than practically any other USB flash drive in existence.

Cons: The labels on the external protective cylinder are self-adhesive type. Not that it really matters, but some people who own the Survivor drives just remove those labels.

Overall Review: The O-rings need some silicone lubricant to make them last long and provide best air-tight seal. Otherwise, rubber dries out with age, especially if it is exposed to some mechanical wear as it is the case with these flash drives. Do not use any mineral oil or motor oil - only silicone.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Flash Drive

Pros: Fast, Durable and Well-Designed. This drive performs spectacularly. It's fast, reliable, and extremely tough. I even took it SCUBA diving with me to 100 feet for no other reason than because I could.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: It's larger than most other USB Flash drives, but who really wants something so small that you could forget it's in your pocket when you do laundry? It isn't a con for me, so I didn't list it as such.

5 out of 5 eggsThe only USB Flash drive I haven't killed

Pros: This thing is solid. I have terrible, terrible luck with USB flash drives. I've gone through drives like most people chew gum; they always fail without any visible cause.

This one is SOLID and has managed to survive multiple years of use by me, destroyer of USB drives.

Cons: Price was steep at the time, but well worth it.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Solid construction, rubber bumpers dampen impact if you drop it, USB 3.0, nice tight case seems like it should provide some water resistance, compact and rounded shape is comfortable in your pocket.

Cons: Threads on the case are not the smoothest. Rubber bumpers are soft and feel like they will wear out, though this hasn't happened yet despite being in a pocket full of keys and coins.

Overall Review: The thread issue mentioned above is probably unavoidable, aluminum is always like that and it doesn't really hurt anything, it just doesn't feel as smooth as steel threads typically do.

Easily one of the most comfortable USB sticks to carry around and I don't have to give any thought to whether it will be damaged if I sit on it or toss it in a bag.

4 out of 5 eggsDurable and reliable thus far

Pros: *Sturdy metal casing

*tight feeling screw-on seal with rubber gasket

*seems to read / wright well

*USB stick seems well secured into the housing

*Activity light

Cons: *Cap is screw on and off

*the casing makes the device rather large when compared to other lower profile usb sticks but not overly huge by any means (but that is the price you pay for making it more indestructible)

Overall Review: Owned this USB device for approximately 3 months and it has proven thus far to be a great, sturdy USB stick for those needing extra protection of their data at the cost of losing a low profile design.

Pros: Using dd to copy to a ramdisk, it's reads average at about 80MB/s over USB 3.0.

Using the same method to copy from the ramdisk to the drive, it's writes average about 30MB/s.

Strong and RUGGED, definitely overkill for just about anything.

Cons: A bit squeaky, but Vaseline fixes it. Not a big deal.

It may not be this drive, so I won't take an egg off, but the USB 3.0 recognition is a bit shoddy... Sometimes it works, sometimes it seems to break. Perhaps the drive is a bit big to fit completely in my motherboard slots completely. The shield may be interfering with it slightly.

Overall Review: I wish I bought the 64GB version.(Is there one? I just bought this one because I had some spare cash after buying an SSD)

5 out of 5 eggsVery fast with a rugged military look & feel

Pros: Really fast read/write speeds, high quality durable aluminum casing.
I experienced 83 read/43 write on USB 3.0 and 33 write/32 read on USB 2.0. It's the fastest USB drive I have ever owned. Great for transferring large files. I bench marked the drive on a Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H with a 890GX chipset.

Cons: None, but the drive being larger than the average USB flash drive may be a con for some.

Overall Review: I prefer the "Stealth" version in black over the bare aluminum model, though I wonder how the black paint will hold up.
I wish it had come with a lanyard, but that is no big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsA robust and safe data carrier

Pros: Waterproof, strong, well made, corsair, USB 3.0 speeds, size/weight is good

Cons: Is a bit bulky to have on a keychain, but I make do :)
The keyring hole is a bit small.

Overall Review: I use this as part of my EDC (Every Day Carry) set up. On the device I have my SSN, DL, banking, contact list, insurnaces, and other personal info. I DO NOT CARRY THIS INFO UNENCRYPTED.
I use a strong encryption software on the device, so if it were ever stolen it would be unusable until it was formatted.

I have tested it, and it is indeed waterproof. I dropped it, and everything was fine. Really a great piece of hardware...for software...

5 out of 5 eggsBest Flash Drive

Pros: I have owned this beast for 2 years now. It works just like it did when I first used it. It has gone through the wash more times than I would like to admit. It has been through a lot and only has a few dings on the sticker to show for it. I DO recommend this product to my friends quite often.

Cons: absolutely none.

4 out of 5 eggsTotally solid

Pros: -Good USB 3.0 speed
-No pre-installed crapware
-Looks pretty nice
-Water resistant

Cons: As much as I love this drive, I know that there are some improvements that could be made.

1. It would be nice if BOTH ends of the drive had key ring attachments. I have it connected to my keys, and having them attached to the drive rather than the outer casing is slightly off-putting.

2. The rubber pieces gave up after about 6 months of daily use, not really an issue but something to be aware of.

3. The labels on the case that say "Corsair" and "Survivor" both became heavily scratched, almost turning completely white after 4 months of use. Luckily they came off with out issue and left me with a truly 'stealth' flash drive.

Overall Review: I really did my research before buying this, I had others in consideration but I am so happy to have chosen this product. If I ever lost this, or needed another one i wouldn't think twice to re buy, or consider a potentially newer version.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not load files you wouldn't want to lose!!!

Pros: Nothing

Cons: CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED.

This drive has failed me TWICE now. I've owned it since Feb 2013 and it crashed in early May and just this morning. Less than 2 months apart. Both times it asks me to format the drive.
I bought a 32GB drive b/c i wanted to carry a lot of information. I eject it correctly everytime. I formatted it after the second crash but still crapped out on me. I even took it to a forsensic computer guy at my work that does it as a hobby. Even with the high tech equipment he has and many hours later he was not able to piece it back together.

Overall Review: I'll be contacting Corsair to get their feedback on this issue. I'll update once I have further comments on that.

Pros: FAST! Feels solid and hefty. Good tight seals.

Cons: It is bulky and a bit heavy but this is the price I gladly pay for the durable nature of this device.

-Good amount of storage space for my needs
-USB 3.0 is fast!

Cons: -Takes up a lot of space for a single port device
-Difficult to use on an thinner laptop

Overall Review: Got it on sale on Cyber Monday! Neither of the Cons is that bad, as long as you know beforehand and can accommodate a flash drive of this size.

5 out of 5 eggsNot so stealth, but very well-made and fast

Pros: Fast transfer speeds with 3.0, crush-proof compared to almost anything else electronic, and hard to lose.

Cons: I removed the waterproofing o-ring so the drive would screw closed easier because I use it VERY often at work. Even without the ring it seems to screw tight and remain water-resistant.

Being FAT32 it will work in just about everything but I may reformat it exfat so I can copy in excess of 4gigs per file and remain mac-pc interchangeable.

None besides that, kind of bulky but that's obvious when the thing is nearly indestructible.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good.

Pros: This has a very sturdy case, which protects the drive from most abuse, weather and water. I'm getting good but not great speed on USB3.0. There is a hole for a keyring on the drive itself (not on the cap) so it's harder to loose than some other designs.

Cons: The rubber parts on the case might as well not be there, you'll loose them in a week. They are a bit long, and it's hard but not impossible to get them side by side in 2 usb ports.. These are all minor issues.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Strong

Pros: Needed a new drive for work and personal stuff, this one is large enough for both. Super Sturdy you can beat the junk out of this thing and it won't get damaged... hope it really is water proof because that has been a problem of mine with flash drives, I like to use them as a key chain.

Cons: Spinny cap is not attached, but this is still the best drive available anywhere by a long shot.

5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: Memory is very fast. When reading card and trasferring from USB 3.0 to my SSD was reading 1G/s, transferred file to my HDD at about 400 Mb/s. Took 2 to 3 seconds to transfer a 2.4 GB file off to my SSD. Impressed much faster than usb 2.0. Nice all alluminum design, has a place to put keychain for those of you who want. Little on the heavy side which I dont mind as I leave it in a back pack. Case is nice, protects the USB device.

Cons: A little on the heavy side. Not a Con for me but maybe for those thinking to purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely sturdy

Pros: Near indestructible, as far as I can tell. I've tried dropping it from height onto concrete, throwing it across the room, stepping on it with boots on, and drowning it in the kitchen sink. After each attempt at destruction, the thing plugged in and mounted with zero complaints. I'm impressed. If you're looking for a usb stick that can take some punishment, this is it - throw it in your backpack and don't worry about it.

Cons: None that I can think of. A bit pricey, perhaps, but worth the few extra bucks if you're planning on traveling and are worried about vibration, shock, or water damage.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality

Pros: Fast transfer rates, even over USB 2.0 ports. Solid design, water (proof)?

Cons: Bulky, not keychain friendly, but I didn't expect it to be.

Overall Review: Corsair comes thru again with a great flash drive. For the price, there is none greater.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat flash drive!

Pros: Great flash drive so far ... water/air tight, true USB 3.0 speed, no problems with Windows 7, Windows 8, OS X, Linux. Lightweight, nice design, nice color.

Cons: Metal-on-metal squeaking noise. Needs a bit of Militec or G96 to take care of the noise and make it a bit easier to unscrew.

Overall Review: As long as it lasts for a few years, I'll be a happy camper. Due to reviews of other Corsair flash drives, I'm wary of failures.

5 out of 5 eggsTotally Waterproof, Octopus Tested

Pros: Flash drive is incredibly fast in USB 3.0. Installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit in 9 minutes onto my OCZ Vertex 4.

Impossible to break when closed. I am a marine biologist at a research aquarium and needed heavy duty water resistance. After testing the waterproof aspect in a beaker, I then handed it to our 8 1/2 foot Giant Pacific Octopus. she played with it for a bit and then threw it to the bottom of the tank where I fished it out and the seal kept the inside COMPLETELY waterproof!

When I tested the speed compared to USB 2.0 it was not even comparable the 3.0 was so much faster.

Cons: Not the fastest drive out there, but I have a feeling the difference speed-wise would be negligible in most cases.

Overall Review: I feel like I could use it as a weapon for self defense.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing can take a beating!

Pros: This thing can really take a beating! (unlike my ex-wife)

-Fully submersible (tested to about 5 meters at my local swimming pool)

-Droppable(tested around 4 meters)

-Feels good to hold and bring around with you

-Amazing quality

-High storage capacity

-Nice looking

-Great/bright blue LED to tell you when data is being transferred (I've used it on a Mac, and even though the system tells you can eject it, the light still flickers for 5 seconds afterwards, with the LED I can *actually* safely remove it.)

Cons: -Sometimes when screwing it on/off, the metal threads can make a squeaking noise, undesirable if working in quiet offices. Not enough to take an egg of though.

1 out of 5 eggsBad luck I guess

Pros: Well built

Cons: I tried reformatting a couple times but attempting to write anything to the drive was painfully slow. If it were 4x faster I would be greatly disappointed, but it is so bad it is clearly a defective item. I will let you know how I make out with Corsair. Since I have had it more than 30 days NewEgg will not exchange it.

Pros: Owned this for a few years now, hasn't skiped a beat and is very durable. I've dropped this and thrown it across a classroom and only damage it took was some scratches.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsDurable without skipping out on performance!

Pros: 1. Lots of room, i keep every class i have taken on it and am not even halfway full.
2. usb 3.0
3. i don't have to worry about where i put it because the metal case keeps it safe.

Cons: 1. over the summer i lost one of the rubber parts for it, so those can come off.
2. the key-chain hole is sort of hard to use, i wouldn't keep it with my keys

Overall Review: this flash drive has a ton of storage and you can always keep it safe with the metal case, why would you buy any other flash drive over 20gb with the possibility of if getting stepped on or pouring water on it when you have this option? Awesome product

5 out of 5 eggsGood stick, nice and big. Solid!

Pros: Some people may complain about the bulkyness of this stick. But the reality is that is a "Pro" to me because far too many times I have lost USB sticks in my pocket or behind something. I ghost images all day for 3 months with my stick and have not had an error during the transfers. Accepted GRUB4DOS without issue. even ran a linux OS off of it for a week solid. The shotgun shell design allows me to keep it in the tool straps of my pelican case.

Cons: I only had one PC that I had to jiggle a little to get it to work. I'm not going to remove an egg over that since it works in 100's of registers, laptops, and even a few android devices I own. They are a little on the pricey side. But for their speed and for what they do they are worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsThese are great!

Pros: I received my Newegg e-mail that these were on sale, plus free shipping! I bought 2 of them. Can't beat that! I'm not disappointed with them for the price, that's for sure. I have no regrets whatsoever & would buy again for that price and free shipping.

Pros: I've had the silver version and now the black. I don't see much difference. They both are rather fast and I don't worry about snapping in my pocket, or losing the cap, or getting washed with my pants. All my data stays safe, and is accessible at good 3.0 speeds.

Pros: This drive is exactly as advertised. Tough and can handle some aggressive handling.

Cons: Gasket seems to fray slightly with repeated opening and closing.

Overall Review: Bought this drive to use as a backup of a thumb drive I carry with me. I put mirrored data on my cheap drive and on this drive. I do this multiple times a day requiring me to screw on and off the cover over and over. It is still working great after months of use. The gasket is showing some signs of use as one would expect.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing product

Pros: Very fast speeds on both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. Extremely durable. I've burned through many, many flash drives in the past years, and this one has outlasted any of my previous flash drives. I have used it nearly every day since purchase, and it hasn't disappointed me once.

Cons: The metal threads to tend to make a bit of noise while screwing the cap on and off, but this can easily be taken care of with just a touch of your favorite grease or lubricant.

Overall Review: I absolutely love this flash drive and it is by far the best flash drive I have ever owned. If you are looking for a flash drive with extreme reliability and durability that also has very fast transfer rates and formidable size (29.8Gb usable after I formatted as NTFS) then I would consider your search over.

5 out of 5 eggsSurvived Me

Pros: The past thumb drives I've had, I've had the tendency to murder them. Either breaking the off from the USB port or dropping them or leaving them in my pant pocket and giving them a shower in my laundry machine. Needless to say I'm clumsy, but the Survivor Stealth can handle me no problem. It's still in one piece and it's still working, no problem.

Cons: The key ring hole is rather small. It needs to be larger to hold your average sized key ring.

Overall Review: It's a great thumb drive. Get it if you know you are a killer of thumb drives.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Flash Drive I've ever used.

Pros: Fast, works in all the computers on campus (windows and mac), and solid as a rock. Actually you could probably break rocks with it and then save the video of you doing it to the flash drive.

Cons: I would have preferred some sort of rubberized coating on the ends instead of the rubber rings.

Overall Review: I love this drive. It fits snugly into all usb ports and works fantastic in both usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports. When working in the lab I can have it on the desk or in my pocket and never worry about smashing it or damaging it while building testing rigs.

People complain about the size of it, but I think the size is perfect. I never worry about forgetting it in a pocket and washing it, and even if I did I doubt it would even noticed.

If you're looking for a solid flash drive that you're going to carry around with you and you're not the most careful person in the world, this is the one I would recommend. I actually would recommend this to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent flash drive

Pros: I purchased this in the hopes of getting good speed (finally) from a USB flash device. I'm completely happy with it, in fact this is easily my most used flash drive now. It's sufficiently fast that loading multiple GB of data no longer bothers me. Maybe best of all is the fact that read/write speeds exceed what was advertised when I purchased this.

For the record Read/Write averages about 75 MB/sec and 45MB/sec for me.

It's also worth noting that it feels like it's heavy duty enough tat a car could run over it (at least while it's in it's case) and it would survive. As a bonus it is water tight when sealed

Cons: These are not so much cons for me but they could be for others. First it is chunky, which may mean that you won't be able to get another device beside it if your USB ports are very close. Second the light is rather bright and could be disruptive (I guess).

Pros: Black painted/anodized aluminum

Cons: doesn't come with a chain or anything...you will have to supply your own..unlike the first survivor...that came with a ball chain...this one doens't...I ASSumed it would..but you all know what that makes you...live and learn...now I gotta go to lowes or home depot and get myself something so I can attach it/hang it from things so I dont' loose it...kind of expensive to be just leave laying around...you know?

Overall Review: I didn't take an egg off because the chain thing wasn't worth it...just something I hadn't foreseen and that was on me...looks and works just like my 16gb survivor...but bigger...lol...and black..hahahahaha...oh em gee...really...the chain would have been nice to have...just saying :-"

5 out of 5 eggsHighly Recommend this Product!

Pros: - USB 3.0 with 2.0 Compatibility (for those who don't have the latest hardware.)

- 32GB of storage in a FLASH DRIVE! Which is great for being on the move and needing to save a large file.

- Durability, I trusted the whole water proof, shock resistant, features but was impressed when I actually came to the situation where it got disconnected from my key chain (my own fault for not fully attaching the ball link) and fell into a fairly large puddle of water and stayed there until later that night when I realized it was missing when outside and there it was still submerged under water. Came inside and it works perfectly.

Cons: - None really, this thing is hands down the best Flash Drive I've used. Only think I can see some people having an issue with is the price but you get what you pay for. Buy cheap, get cheap.

Pros: Received this yesterday and could not be any happier. I have yet to test the USB 3.0 Speeds, but compared to my other USB 2.0 flash drives, the Corsair Survivor Stealth is phenomenal. I will update my review with the speed results once I am able to test the USB 3.0 functions.

Cons: No cons for the device itself although, I would have been nice for them to package a key ring along with it. I had to take one from an old bottle opener.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Does exactly what it is suppose to. I bought it to back-up files from my laptop and i have damaged other thumb drives as they bounced around my pack. I used the Windows "diskpart" utility to re-partion it, formated a 20GB partition for NTFS and copied a 10 GB file to it (took about 6 minutes to copy the file.) And now it is nice and secure in it's casing. Love it.

Cons: Yes it is big and heavy compared to most thumb drives, but I was expectating that.

Overall Review: For those who want to use Windows to repartition the drive , just open a command prompt and type "diskpart". MS has KB article on how to use it.

5 out of 5 eggsTough as Nails Flash Drive

Pros: USB 3.0 heavy duty mate black high quality (could not use a colorful metaphor) piece of machinery. I work as an IT professional in industrial atmospheres (plants, factories, construction) and this does the job.

I was afraid that it may to be large considering that I use an Ultrabook (Dell XPS), but it plugs right in without a problem. Speed is decent for a 32gig flash drive -- I avg around 20MB+. All and all not bad based on ruggedness, speed, and portability.

Cons: I really don't have any. The fact that it comes straight out of the packing without any bloatware (factory security junk (could not use colorful metaphor) -- it is indeed a nice product.

Overall Review: If you need a reliable, tough as nails product -- this is it!

Pros: Having built a new PC with USB 3.0 ports, I was tempted to buy this but held off. After I found out the new comps at my school were similarly equipped with USB 3.0, I relented (as I could actually use this outside of the house). Ran some tests and it was about as fast as advertised (although not consistantly). Anyhow, my friend dressed up as the Slenderman and in my panic, I threw this at him. Knocked him out and didn't give him a concussion. Victory on my part.

1 out of 5 eggsStopped Working After 1 week

Pros: Fast, Secure and water proof

Cons: Too large as pocket portable flash drive

Overall Review: I have two (2) of these and they both stopped being recognized by Windows 7 the same hour when I was installing USB3 PCI card for my desktop. I had secured both flash drives using Windows Bitlocker and copied secure personal data in both drives. Since I did not want to chance my personal data being stolen, I did not send back to mfg'er for replacement. I chose to take a total loss of $85 for both drives rather than take that chance. Do not recommend these drives.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work on a Keychain

Pros: Size (about the size of a roll of pennies), durability, fast.

Cons: Unfortunately, Corsair has changed the design. I've kept a survivor on my key chain for 4 years now and loved it. I decided to get a new one with larger storage and faster speeds even though my current one still works (never has a single issue, ever!). On the older rev, the key chain hole is on both the flash drive AND the case. On the new version it is only on the drive. This means if you install it on your keys, then the entire weight of your keys is cantilevered off of your USB port and this drive making it totally useless. If this doesn't matter to you, then it's a great drive. If you want to keep it on your key chain, keep looking or get the slower older version.

Pros: Cheap, Fast

Cons: Pretty much dead in the first two days of ownership. Reformatted it from Fat32 to NTFS when I first got it. Transferred some video files to it. A day later deleted the old files and tried transferring new ones but it would freeze up at 0 seconds left. Left for 2 hours but still nothing. Connected it to different computer and it popped up that it needed to be formatted. Couldn't format to NTFS or ExFat. Ended up formatting it to Fat32. Managed to transfer over a text document okay so connected it back to original computer to reformat once again to NTFS. Computer now freezes up when trying to right click or double clicking on it.

2 out of 5 eggsNot tough where it counts

Pros: When in its special case, great. Water resistant, and drop safe.

Cons: Diety help you if you pull it from a computer during background data transfer.

One USB trick to make things snappier is that when a file is copying, it claims it is transferred, but is not sync'ed. This means the data transfer is now in the background. If you pull it out during this point, the drive enters a meta-stable or unstable state, where some firmware trigger forces the drive into read-only mode.

Overall Review: It's good if, for instance, you needed to use a flash drive when hiking. Otherwise, it's just a cheap flash drive.

I will be RMA-ing this.
