Pros: Let me begin by saying that I'm an extreme metal music reviewer (Volumes of Sin for those curious). I was searching for a while for a pair of headphones that I could utilize both at home for gaming and on the go for reviews; plus, high sound quality is an ABSOLUTE must for review purposes.

- Amazing sound quality, honestly one of the best I've ever experienced. Awesome natural sound.

- Great, but not overwhelming, bass. Absolutely no static at all. Full stereo as well (front and back left and right, plus middle).

- Comes with a 3 ft extension cable, perfect for laying in bed and watching a movie or gaming while in bed (if your bed is not near your PC.)

- Extremely comfortable ear pieces. Full of cushion.

- The headset adjusts to fit your head automatically, no need for manual adjustment.

- Hidden and adjustable microphone that slides back inside the headset when on the run.

- Convenient volume knob.

Cons: Well it's the one year mark now and today the headset finally went. And guess what? Warranty on these bad boys is only a year.

I don't abuse the cord or headset at all, in fact I treated it like solid gold because I rely on this headset heavily. But I did get a LOT of use out of it. Virtually every day, 12-16 hours a day. I'm surprised they didn't grow into my skin.

If you're going to be using these strictly at home, I think you'll be fine for longer than a year so long as you don't toss the set around.

Overall Review: The 3ft extension cable gave out long before the actual headphones did. Though my dachshund was notorious for stepping on it.

Overall, they took general wear and tear for a year of nearly all day use. But when they go, they go abruptly with no warning.

5 out of 5 eggsWhy buy this particular Headset?

Pros: For my job i spend the entire day building gaming computers. I personally bought this headset for World of Warcraft vent purposes. I can hear my guildies without any problems setup was easy and the mic doesnt get in the way.

Cons: I have found no cons but will let you know if i do.

Overall Review: Steelseries makes some amazing headsets, and gaming hardware. I also bought the usb soundcard with this headset for travel purposes.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best headset ever.

Pros: - Amazing sound quality
- Extremely comfortable
- I never had a large cupped headset (over ear) But now I will never go back
- The extension wires are amazing. perfect for any time you need the headset. I can even use it to talk o0n skype while in my bed
- Wore them for 6 hours straight (no problems, and they were still comfy)
- Sturdy
- Red

Cons: No cons. This thing is flawless.

Overall Review: Most people buy 12$ headsets. Thats good if your really cheap and want to deal with problems, I guess.
This is a great buy for the money. Yes you pay more than 12 dollars; it is worth every penny. Best headset I ever had.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Headset

Pros: This headset is incredibly comfortable. After a while, I forgot I was wearing them. They're light yet very sturdy. The sound is fantastic. A great buy for anyone who spends hours a day with headphones on.

Cons: On my small head, they look ridiculously large. I would never wear them outside, but in my house, it's not a problem.

5 out of 5 eggsSiberia V2

Pros: These are still my favorite headsets to date. I haven't found any headsets that have better sound quality to them and I've tried a fair share of them, Razer, Steelseries, Logitech, and Sennheiser.. I just can't find something to beat them. They're very well built and do not break easily, retractable microphones are always a plus, the super long cable is nice. Flat out a hard to beat headset.

Cons: The left headphone finally died out and I lost sound on it after about 1 year+ of use, not even going to bother with an RMA for my 2 year warranty, just buying another due to SteelSeries having garbage customer support..
SteelSeries has by far the WORST customer service I have EVER dealt with. My account is still ''suspended'' after about 2 years from me trying to RMA a headset and them taking 1 month and a half to send me back a headset that worked (this was when I was testing the 7H headset) and I told them I find it a little ridiculous it took this long, newegg only takes a week or two and I have my items back. They started blaming everything on me and telling me this and that was my fault and giving me some really foul attitude.

Overall Review: You really can NOT go wrong with the Siberia v2's, the sound going it is probably my own fault I have dropped these twice, not hard falls but they have seen falls none the less. This headset is incredible and will definitely do you justice if playing Call of Duty, or Battlefield like I do.

Again though, try very hard to avoid customer service from SteelSeries and buy directly from Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Headset!

Pros: -VERY COMFORTABLE!!
-Awesome sound quality, especially with a dedicated sound card
-Mic is very clear on voice chat
-12ft cable
-Mic is retractable

Cons: My only problem with headset is that the cord is a little flimsy, it would be very easy to roll over this with a chair and damage the cord.

Overall Review: This is the most comfortable headset I have ever worn. The floating headband makes it easy to forget that you are even wearing a headset.

This headset has some pretty solid sound when paired with a soundcard.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Headset

Pros: I've had this headset for three years now, and still use them on a daily basis. I'll probably be upgrading soon, but these have been my child for as long as I can remember. They are VERY comfortable, and they were super affordable at the time. The sound quality is fine for gaming, but I wouldn't use them in a studio setting.

Cons: Sound quality could be better, but then again these are pretty darn old...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat right off the bat!

Pros: -Compared to my old headphones (px 21's) these headphones feel MUCH more durable
-The cord is made out of higher quality tiny-threaded rubber/plastic tubing
-Sounds amazing!
-Crystal Clear microphone that adapts to various settings easily
-Love the retractable mic
-Good color (At first, I wanted white, but I am very pleased with the red color. Plus, it's cheaper than any other color!)
-Lightweight
-Comfortable (I like the pleather ear cushions. It does get ever so slightly sweaty, but that's really not a big deal.)
-I can wear it in public and not get strange looks
-The box it came in was designed to hold the headphone in place really well, so likely these headphones will rarely see 'shipment damage'

Cons: -Took a moment to get it used to my head.. but after about 2-3 minutes, I forgot it was even on my head.

-Blocks only MOST of outside sound - Unless you have the audio on fairly high. (Still fits my ears pretty well. And it suits my purposes - I need to hear people talking to me from time to time.)

-Wasn't free!

Overall Review: People suggest using this with an audio mixer -

I tried it with a Turtlebeach DSS. As a musician/gamer, I really like crisp, DEFINED quality. With the DSS, the quality was poor (because the DSS can only utilize up to 48000hz quality in windows sound options.. explained later)

So I decided to plug the headset straight into the PC... Sounds AMAZING! ( I have Realtek 7.1 Digital HD audio, with basic THX TruStudio equalizer audio, thanks to my motherboard. )

>>Try this: open 'playback devices' on your sound manager, go to your speaker, hit properties, click the 'advanced' tab, and set the audio quality to "24-bit, 192000 Hz (Studio Quality)' . The default setting is usually 44000hz, which gives bland definition compared to 192000hz. The difference is night and day, and you will definitely hear it.

I have no idea if the Astro Mixamp / SteelSeries Amps can reach 192000hz quality... but it would be killer if it could. I'll have to research that.

This headset is perfect for music, gaming, and communications.

Just make sure that you adjust the microphone settings. From out of the box, it is really quiet - navigate to the windows recording devices and set the recording volume to whatever suits you. (I like 100 volume, 0 gain.)

Overall, very pleased.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for buck

Pros: -Noise Canceling
-High Quality Sound
-Name Brand
-Only 80$
-Amazing Build Quality
-Retractable and Great Quality Mic
-Comes with Extension Cable
-VERY Comfy, even for glasses wearers and long use

Cons: None

Overall Review: I have owned many headsets, mostly in the 10$-40$ range. They all have been name brand and have had good reviews, and have all broken in 6 months or less. I am an avid gamer. I have had this headset for over a year and it is still kicking strong. Go for the 80$ headset always. It's great.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: There are some complaints of being uncomfortable when you have a large head, well I have a very large head. So far the comfort level of these headphones has been amazing. The sound quality for the price is on the par of amazing, and the microphone quality is crisp and clear. I've owned a few pairs of 50-120 dollar range headphones and these are the best so far (5hv2s, Chicaras, Plantronics). I would highly recommend this headphones as well as getting them from newegg, as their service is never anything short of amazing.

Cons: The ONLY thing i can find not so good about these headphones thus far is that the fake leather ear cups cut off any airflow to your ears (which is good to keep out backround noise) but it can lead to a little bit of perspiration. Other then that I find nothing else to complain about...

Overall Review: Recommend for high level gamers and music lovers alike.

5 out of 5 eggsTeamspeak & Vent

Pros: - Big
- Comfortable... very very comfortable
- Crisp deep "surround" sound.
- Decent Bass
- Stiff yet flixible retractable mic. Doesn't shake or change position unless you move it.
- Mic picks up your voice easily while managing to prevent picking up people in the background.

Cons: - Not wireless
- Not free
- No cool software. (Headset manufacturers should really consider bundling software that optimizes headset use and functionality.)

Overall Review: I just got this yesterday and finished a 10 hour gaming session spanning WoW, TF2, and Bioshock; I have big ears and a solid sized head, and my opinion is that this is amazing! Extremely comfortable, put these bad boys on my head and was instantly surprised. You feel almost no pressure from the ear cups or headband! Yet also manages to somehow stay on your head... magic. Sound effects were beautiful music to my ears. While playing Bioshock every footstep and drop of water was accentuated and more importantly I could tell from which direction the sound was coming from. As I mentioned above the Bass is decent, it's not like you can have a subwoofer in you ear, by headset standards though it really is way above what you would expect. Mic functionality is perfect, (Vent and TS) everyone heard me clearly all day. The ability to retract the mic is a nice touch.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Solidly constructed
- Quality craftsmenship
- Great sound
- Awesome slide-out, flexible mic
- Durable inline mic and volume control

Same great egg-cellent shipping and service on this order as I've come to expect.

Cons: - Ear lining material isn't velvet like the original.

Overall Review: I've own another set of these headphones that were made by iceMAT back in the day. The design has stayed generally the same, with some GREAT improvements, including the built-in slide-out, flexible mic. If these were to be lined with the same velvety material, I'd give these 10 eggs if I could.

Great headphones and headsets require the investment. These are well worth the investment. I bought this pair for home, I leave my original pair in the office. My older iceMATs have lasted for 4+ years and still work and feel just as great; I'm hoping this new pair does too!

5 out of 5 eggsbest in slot ear armor

Pros: Bought these back in nov 2013
Still top notch
Still look like a swedish progamer

I took them underway on 2 submarine deployments, packing and unpacking them from my rack with other steelseries components including a large MSI laptop.

I was not able to be gentle. But all the steelseries stuff i have ever owned still works as well as the day it arrived.

Definitely my favorite brand of computer hardware.

The Bass booms. The tweets chirp. There is no buzz.

Cons: Discomfort sets in after maybe 10 hours or so due to lack of ear ventilation.

Overall Review: Look at basshunter's music video for DOTA
He knows headphones.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than Turtle Beaches

Pros: * Ridiculously comfortable
* No adjustable components and it fits perfectly (and I have a big enough head that most hats don't fit me!)
* Don't have to mess around with drivers
* Comes with a super long double 3.5 mm extension cable
* Pretty good sound quality
* Retractable mic feels durable, transmits my voice well, and hides quite nicely
* Fairly cheap

Cons: * Wired
* Not *quite* as high-quality sound as a USB headset (presumably since USB headsets can source more power?)
* The red is meh

Overall Review: I sometime stream to Twitch.tv using XSplit, and with my previous USB headphones (Turtle Beach PX3) I would often times struggle to have Windows recognize my headset, have trouble getting my game to output sound through my headphones as opposed to my speakers, etc.

With 3.5mm jack headphones no longer have to deal with driver mumbo-jumbo, which for me is a good thing.

5 out of 5 eggsBest sound I've heard from a headset yet....

Pros: I received these for Christmas, and all I can say is these things ROCK....actually outperform ones I've heard that cost way more. Mic fidelity is amazing as well.... if you're in the market for a new set of gaming cans, these are a super solid choice.

They fit comfortably with glasses on (unlike many headsets) and are comfortable for long wear as well.

Bass is nice and deep, and doesn't muddle the mids or highs. Mids and highs are crystal clear as well.

Cons: Nothing I can think of

5 out of 5 eggsExtreme Quality Headset

Pros: Great sound, very comfortable, and the mic has excellent sound cancellation. They also have a great style and color to them. The price for these are an excellent deal!

Cons: Wire sometimes get's a little tangled but what do you expect with wired headsets.

Overall Review: I really recommend these for people who play Guild Wars 2 and skype as well, these makes the experience much greater and you aren't blasted noise at your friend the whole time you both are playing together. I think this headset, for the price is the best you can buy out there. Really no complaint what so ever.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent headset

Pros: Very good sound quality + bass. Mic is one of the best i ever used

Cons: Very heavy for me makes my ears hurt after 1 hour of usage

Overall Review: if you can bare the heaviness of these headsets then they are very good for the price

5 out of 5 eggsFor the price? Awesome.

Pros: - Super Comfy. I've heard people complain about these being a hassle to wear with glasses on, I'm a 24/7 wearer and this headset feels wonderful on my ears while gaming for hours on end. The headband system works really well and just puts itself in place every time I rest the headset on my head.

- Sound is clear. I also keep hearing that the sound levels are too flat, but I don't WANT massive bass is a gaming headset. I want clear and flat sound that I can hear, and this provides it. Very clear.

- These things look good, for sure.

- The mic is great, people that I've skyped with say it's clearer than my last mic and they hear far less background noise if a member of my household is watching TV or doing something around me. The fact that it's recessed inside of the left earcup is just icing on the cake. Great feature.

Cons: Build Quality, I've far too many horror stories of these things breaking randomly, and I'm inclined to believe it's possible. The plastic...has a weird cheap feel to it. It feels fine. But just a little off. Maybe it's the color..

Overall Review: Newegg got it to me fast, got it here safe and got it on my head, thanks guys, you're the best <3

5 out of 5 eggsEverything I Wanted

Pros: The headset is very comfortable, even for extended use. It was a little tight for me upon first use, and almost gave me headaches. I would have had to dock an egg, but after a week it was unnoticable for me.

The retractable mic is very convenient. I have worried it will break easily, but it still works great even with use.

The headset has remained durable, but has not taken any abuse.

The sound quality of the speakers is excellent, granted I have not owned any other high end headsets, except an expensive in-ear pair. I use these for both gaming and music, both are superb.

The mic's sound quality is also great. No - definitely not recording music with it, but for talking on a teamspeak it is very clear.

The included 7' cable extension is a little much, but great in the event the mic does not reach with its own cable (roughly 3').

Cons: Initial it was a very tight fit.
Wearing with glasses can take some adjusting to get it comfortable. This may be a problem for some. The inset volume control is small, and the mic mute can be difficult to slide.

Overall Review: I wish I had used more headsets in the past to make better comparisons. Fortunately, this set has been so good to me that I doubt I will be buying another anytime soon. Delivery was prompt, packaging looked good.

1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? Yes No

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost great!

Pros: Great sound for the price. Nice, clear, accurate, mid and high range. Bass not quite as powerful as some but still good and clear with no distortion. I was concerned after reading some comments about comfort with glasses but I have not had any problem. After 5 or 6 hours of continuous game time only minor negative is a little sweat on the leather cups. Microphone sounds relatively accurate, better that most, more than adequate for gaming use.

Cons: Only big negative for me (no one else has mentioned it at least) is the mute/volume control. It's tiny, slick, and almost impossible to slide the mute switch which I need to use a lot. I'm not sure it will last the week.

Overall Review: If you don't need a mute switch this is a great sounding and very comfortable headset. Only the mute prevents it from getting 5 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This headset is one decent piece of hardware.
-First impression for me was that it was plastic, but didn't "feel plasticy".
-The grip around my head was expected to be tight, but it was actually cozy the first time putting it on, so that makes me a little worried that it might get loose later.
-it cancels a very large amount of background noise, i can't hear people opening my door behind me a lot of the time.
-bass beats the fatal1ty set i had before easily, more than i expected based on other reviews of them.

Cons: -The fit doesn't seem tight enough below the ears, but even with a loose fit i get an enormous amount of noise reduction, pressing the bottom of the cups closer to my ear makes it even better.
-The cords look quality, but the ends of the cords, not so much. I'm afraid of getting it stuck on my chair when i get up and severing the wire.

Overall Review: I'm sorry I wasn't able to comment on the mic quality, Windows 7 64-bit has some major issues with input audio apparently. It seems like I need to install a lesser operating system just to get it working. It's too soon to tell though.

System specs if you're worried about being in the same boat: Creative Audigy 4, 8gb of ram (yeah, it matters according to Daniel K), and Windows 7 professional 64-bit.

Overall it was worth the money, but I got it on savings from newegg. Originally wanted the white version, but they're always out of stock.. I wasn't let down. Be careful with the wires!

Pros: Before i had Fatal1ity headset and now this, wow what a difference. Sound, comfort and quality is way better than my old headset. If you can buy it definitely get this, its a greatest headset i had so far.

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely comfortable

Pros: -Suspension made the headset extremely comfortable and actually engulfs the ears
-Just about the same bass as the Tritton headsets *it was a little bit lower* But the actual Sound quality was a lot more crisp providing better support for VoIP.
-Retractable Mic is very sturdy and amazing quality

Cons: Maybe to light weight when I picked up the box from newegg I thought they forgot to pack it

Overall Review: This headset works extremely well for any one who needs to use an analog headset and the sound quality is amazing *My sound card might have something to do with it*

4 out of 5 eggsGood sound, clear microphone

Pros: - The sound through these headphones is great. I don't like listening to music on my cheap speakers because they don't have very good range, but these are nice and clear.
- The microphone hides and slides out easily, is easy to move, and is far clearer than the microphone on my last headset. Everyone has been telling me "I can hear you now!"
- The material covering the earphones feels about twice as thick as my old headset, which is nice since that was the first thing to wear out on my old one.

Cons: - While nice, the cord volume/microphone control sits farther down the cord than I'd like (at waist height). It catches on my armrest pretty frequently when I move around. If it were a foot or so higher (putting it at chest height), that wouldn't be an issue.

Overall Review: - If the on-cord controls were higher up so they didn't catch on my chair, I think I'd rate this 5 eggs. If anyone from SteelSeries is reading this, that's my recommendation.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted a few months

Pros: Sound good when they work.

Cons: I bought these after reading so many glowing reviews. I was fed up with the quality in turtle beach headsets and wanted to try something new. I was excited with these at first. They sounded good and fit nicely on my head. They seemed somewhat flimsy which worried me. After a month or two of regular use the left headset completely lost audio. From what I understand this is a regular issue and is a failure on the manufacturer's part. These are a complete waste of money unless you plan on throwing them out after using them for a month.

Did you find this review helpful? Yes No

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but not good enough.

Pros: The sound quality is good, but not anywhere near audiophile level (not that that's important for a gaming headset anyway). These headphones were extremely comfortable for me for over a year. Easy to use, fairly durable, and come with a lengthy cord. Comes with a well placed volume control and mic mute switch.

Cons: After about a year, the cushions on these headphones deflate and, if you've got average to large sized ears, you'll feel the headset actually touch your ears. Additionally, if you wear glasses, the headset will become uncomfortable to wear around the same year time-span. After approximately 18 months, the left speaker (with the microphone) goes out. The mic mute switch is smooth, so if you're sweating in the middle of the summer, it will be difficult to switch back and forth between mute/unmute.

Overall Review: If you want a fairly decent headset with a relatively low price, these are a probably a good purchase. However, the random nature of the left speaker going out is common with this headset should leave a buyer wary. Even if the speaker does not go out, this headset seems to only last a year at best, so make this choice a temporary one.

2 out of 5 eggsmeh...

Pros: I bought 2 pairs, one still works, the other... doesn't

Pros though

You won't lose the mic as it's built in and you can tuck it away.
The headset sounds pretty decent with a good soundcard and you have the EQ setup just right.

It's plug and play and works well for the PC platform, generally comfortable for medium head shaped people

Cons: Well, out of warranty, I can't get any replacement or have a question answered as... I don't have the box and the number on the headset isn't the serial number.

The design of the cables is weak. It's thin, and well, mine somehow got damaged and I can't replace it as it's the cable that directly is connected with the headset (not the extension part)

Other companies actually make it so you can replace this part but not everyone does.

My gf doesn't have a big head as I do, it's not very comfortable for me for long periods of use.

Overall Review: I bought this from recommendation from a friend who played CS competitively. He swore by them and had them for awhile. His still works and loves them and fits his head, but doesn't fit my head very well.

I bought 2 pairs ago over a year ago and, it's ok. One broke, so I'm in the process of finding a new headset, or a mic and a headphone. Don't think I'll buy anymore steelseries products with the exception of their mousepad.

Sound quality isn't bad, but it's not mindblowing, it's not that great for music listening, and it's a bit muddled in bass at times.

At this price point, I would do a bit more research as it's a pretty competitive area.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: - Working great so far
- Look cool
- Sound isn't bad
- Not too much base (good for competitive gaming though honestly)
- Mic + volume clips

Cons: - Kind of cheaply made for the price
- $25 Creative Fatal1ty's were better for music

Overall Review: I had the original Icemat Siberia (before SteelSeries took em' in), the SteelSeries 5H & 5HV2. All 3 were treated well yet had one of the headphones die out after a year. I grabbed this one with a warranty and you should too. Honestly doesn't sounder better than my $25 Creative Fatal1ty's when it comes to music. For gaming though they'll been pretty decent so I'll continue seeing how it goes on SS's final headset shot.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very comfortable
Retractable mic
Good mic fidelity
Great headphone fidelity
Open can design
Reliable - owned for almost 2 years with no problems

Cons: A bit gaudy-looking
Mic mute switch is a flat, slick plastic slider so sometimes it's hard to use

Overall Review: I use these at work so I can listen to music without annoying coworkers. They're great because of the comfort, music fidelity, and the fact that when someone wants my attention, I can easily hear them. The downside is that they look pretty dorky, so when I'm using the headset on a video conference, I'm a bit embarrassed. Nonetheless, they're great for gaming and listening to music if you don't want to completely lose your awareness of the real world.

Also, the retractable mic is a huge plus for me. I'm 2 years in with moderate mic usage, and the retracting works just as well as when I bought it.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Sets

Pros: I like the sound quality. I watch a lot of movies and listen to music on my PC, the 50mm drivers do a good job.

Like the volume control and I like the retractable microphone. I haven't used the headsets for gaming yet so I don't know how they deliver in that area. ( I use TB PX5 wireless on my desktop for gaming.)

Cons: My only con is a personal preference. I find them to be light, almost too light. I'm basing my comparison on using TB PX5 headsets. I guess after using those for the past 2 years, most head phones will feel light.

Overall Review: I find the length of the attached cable to be short thereby requiring the need to use the extension cord. The included extension makes the cable more than long enough but I would have preferred that the attached cable be a tad longer (I believe it's 3.5'.)

Pros: It lasted me a little over 2 years before my left speaker died in it. Very good headset with very little pain in the sides after wearing it for hours.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset

Pros: -Great sound quality for a price.
-Comfortable (if you are light weight).
-Cool Design.
-Love the look.
-Extendable cords.

Cons: -Personally the headset is not as comfortable one me, because I am a heavier person. Make sure you know what you are buying. These headset are actually round instead on oval shape around the ear.
-It came in a nice package, but the cord were for whatever reason tied. This worried me because it might ruin it near the future. But so far so good.
-If you are a picky person, this sound a lot better on a great sound card. And i mean A LOT better.

Overall Review: I have been comparing the headset within $100 dollars range. Logitech G35 vs Siberia vs CM Sirus. I decided to buy this one, I would have to say this is not probably the best choice for me. As mention the cushion around the ear is round, so it doesn't fit my ear perfectly. But all around I am still happy with the product.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Love the quality of the sound. I've had 2 pairs previously to these. Back when they were owned by Icemats. I had the black ones. But love the red!

If you want them for gaming get them. If your into FPS order now!

Cons: just be careful not to drop your headsets too many times on the floor. It will crack sooner or later. Wish they were built with a better plastic material. Feels a little flimsy.

Overall Review: Again this is my 3rd pairs of these in the last 6 years :)

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Headset!

Pros: Incredibly comfortable! I can game for hours and hours without feeling anything besides sweat if it's a hot day. I actually bought 3 pairs of these headsets for me and my 2 friends and we have all had a great experience with them. The retractable mic is amazing for voice pick-up. For those with a larger or smaller voice, you can change the mic distance with ease as opposed to positioning the entire headset.

Sound quality is quite amazing. The retractable mic also allows you to wear these as normal headphones without looking like a dork in public!

Cons: I have no cons for this product.

Overall Review: The ratings seem really odd for this product. I've heard nothing but great reviews for these and it seems that the impatient people with money to blow either bought a faulty set, or don't know how to deal with it on their own so they rated a faulty product, not the great headset that it is. I HIGHLY recommend these.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset, Good design

Pros: Its got a lot of pro's but the main ones being:
The cable extension that is great for what ever length you need.
The look gives it the feel as just headphones and have good sound.
The retractable mic is the key though for me. My dog has killed so many mics I was going crazy.

Cons: Only con I could come up with is these headsets don't come with an usb adapter.

4 out of 5 eggs$80 is a good value.

Pros: Sturdy plastic, durable design, no clunky adjustable head piece, and the microphone is super flexible and a good size. If you drop it, it wont immediately fall apart and well i think that's pretty important.

Be sure you install the sound software from the manufacturer website, and TURN YOUR MIC VOLUME ALL THE WAY UP in windows settings.

The sound quality is noticably improved from the standard headset headphones i was using, i cant say much else about surround emulation vs other models however. Not having to deal with USB power and any usb connections is great for me personally.

These are EXTREMELY comfortable to wear in general, but if you let your hair get in the way your ears can get hot really fast.
Overall for the money i could have spent, spending a bit more on something that you know is going to last is worth it.

Cons: I wish the cord was a bit thicker and had a stiffer outter shell like the first models of these (the original white) and in addition i noticed instead of a cloth ear they used a pleather type material instead. the material they used was used on my previous headset which i had for about a year, and i expect it to tear or split on me eventually. if i had the choice i would replace it with the soft cloth instead.

These ARE open ear, at least partially, however the are far more muffled then the first Siberia v1s.. which is kind of disappointing since that was one of the reasons i was really looking forward to these. it would have been nice to hear great sound quality in game and the person sitting next to me at the same time.

Overall Review: Basically i upgraded from an old $30 Microsoft life chat headset to get something that has some kind of surround sound and would hold up under wear and tear. I feel like over time these will last much longer, and i will get more enjoyment out of them.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Product

Pros: The sound quality is great, This is probably the best headset I have ever owned. Along with my Realtek HD Audio Sound card, its amazing.

Cons: None

Overall Review: It takes a little while getting used to going from speakers 24/7 to a headset, but its WELL worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Nice sound, very comfortable, and like the style

Cons: after about 1 month the sound on the left ear bud became either higher then the right or the right was lower but ya i returned it to the steel series company and got another one

Overall Review: nice and i think mine was 1 in a million problem

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!!

Pros: When my dog chewed up my steelseries 4H headphones I was uncertain which ones would be the best for me. These Siberia V2s are awesome! Plus the color red is pretty cool too. I would recommend them to anyone. The design is great. The mic is not in the way. The over the ear design helps out alot. They are comfortable, and you can wear them for hours on end!

Cons: Weren't Free?

Overall Review: If you game alot I would get the virtual sound card to go with it. It's really good.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: excellent sound
long cord which can detach (if it gets caught in something)
looks nice
hardly noticeable when wearing

Cons: cord is a little on the cheap side and tangles easily

Overall Review: this thing has been thrown, dropped, sat on, stepped on, and still works like a charm. sound is superior! no crackling, muffling, etc.

besides the cord being a little on the cheap side (it is very thin and tangles with ease) i have no complaints about this headset.

5 out of 5 eggsPhenominal Headset

Pros: Sleek great looking design, great sound quality and mic quality. Long chord to reach where ever a customer might have there computer set up. Cancels out so much sound. I have an Antec 1200 with all the fans running 100% with a superglocked EVGA GTX 480 and I can hear every footstep and music note without any problems.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Great packaging

2 out of 5 eggsNot impressed

Pros: Comfortable for the most part but hurts the ears after some time. Sound is great at first but didn't last. still work mostly.

Cons: Had them for 2 months and now there is a clinking sound in the left speaker at times. A bit annoying. It sounds good for a bit then there is a bit of clinking like someone is tapping a tin can. Poor quality considering the price. Won't buy again.

4 out of 5 eggsNot The Best...

Pros: - The comfort on this is amazing
- The design looks cool
- Colors
- Durability
- 2 Meter Cord
- Retractable Mic

Cons: - Not really was I was looking for
- Price
- Can't put around neck
- Makes your ears feel like they're gonna sweat
- Little too big

Overall Review: So I was excited to order these, my first gaming headset I'd get. I really enjoyed it, as it was my first gaming headset. It was the most comfortable headset I've had, I could bring it to school(I'm a freshmen at GP) and people liked testing it out. I loved these, but I refunded it because I needed the money, the only reason I put 4 stars is because of the service here, it was pretty good up until I tried refunding it and I buy stuff of a prepaid card because I don't have a credit card. When it was refunded it refunded to the original payment and the original payment was a empty prepaid card I threw away. It made me sad but I'll get over it. Anyway, great headset but not for its price.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat 1st case!

Pros: Very nice finish inside and out very smooth.
Super quiet compared to other cases with cheaper fans.
Love the led fans, light up the room at night.
Easy to access back with indented access panel.

Cons: Flimsy optical drive door.(not a problem just grinds my gears)
Had no idea how to install optical drive.
Instructions aren't as clear as they could be.
PCIe covers on the back are a pain to remove if you aren't careful they will leave stubs that make installing things tricky.

Overall Review: Wish I could give it 5 eggs but I was thoroughly confused when assembling my computer.
Also I'm not biased, love the case just needs to be easier for a beginner

3 out of 5 eggsUncomfortable, annoying to plug-in. Good audio, though.

Pros: Light-weight, mute-button for mic, retractable mic, adjustable fit, extension cord.

Cons: Thin ear pads result in ear and neck pain after 1 hr, cord has separate 3.5mm males for mic and audio but they are poorly labeled and have no color coding so you have to peer at them with a light to see what goes where, the attached cable is super short and the extension is super long so there's nothing comfortble in the middle ground (either the cable is in the air from my tower to my head or there's a mass of cable on my desk).

2 out of 5 eggsReallllllllllyyyyyy badd :/ (Or unlucky)

Pros: The audio is quite nice and the headset itself is very comfortable.

Cons: The mic had been working for the first day just fine untill after that. it had started making the loudest noises possible from the microphone. It will sometimes fix it self but it always comesback in about a couple of minutes. when you listen to the microphone, it literally sounds like it's in a hurricane. :/ hope this is fixed for other headsets. many other people have gotten this problem too on other forums.

Overall Review: Mic is terrible. everything else is good.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat for listening and footsteps

Pros: The good things about this headset is the color, finish, and how comfortable the headset is. The suspension system for the headband works extremely well and makes the headset feel lighter on the head. Another great thing is the retractable mic.

Cons: Some cons I found was that the mic is seriously weak. I have to yell just to get it to be recognized. Really dissapointed in that since im in a clan and need to speak to my friends at some point. I can't type everything. Also the bass is not too engulfing if that makes any sense. You don't feel the bass at all. And if you do, its a very small bass. But its better than some other headsets on the market. If you just want to listen to music, get a razer orca. If you want to listen to music, play games and communicate with friends get this or the Razer Carcharias. This isn't a great choice if you want to speak to friends frequently.

Overall Review: Overall, only problem is the mic. That's why i took off 2 eggs. But newegg got it here fast so I was happy. I just hope that they make a siberia V3 with a stronger mic and some deeper bass.

5 out of 5 eggsBass for days!

Pros: The unbelievable amount of bass that these headphones deliver makes your head shake. With the steel series your getting a product that is superior to the competition. Not only are they extremely comfortable to wear but the mic is awesome. I have an excellent sound card and these headphones can take advantage of a high quality Nas song. Trust me if you buy these you will be able to hear the tank coming a mile away in left for dead 2 while jamming out to tool.

Cons: Non

Overall Review: The red color is awesome, the cable extensions are excellent and really useful. What a great product. I original bought the RAZER Carcharias 3.5mm Circumaural Professional Gaming Headset and returned it for these. I am glad I did.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: comfy ... very comfy

Cons: i had to unplug the connector from the jack about 1/8" to get the left speaker to respond (this was on 2 jacks on a dell computer and the Creative SB X-fi card) ... unless you like mono on the right speaker only ... this headset is not for you. (now to figure out if i cut the wire and put my own connectors on or send the headset back.)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat For Gaming

Pros: This headset is a great buy. Great for gaming plus they look cool. I like how they now have leather cushions in the ear pieces instead of the foam because after awhile the foam collects all your sweat and becomes quite nasty. They also relocated the mic which is a huge plus. v1's were great. These are even better.

Cons: none.

5 out of 5 eggsJust an awesome headset

Pros: High quality, large drivers, great sound and a quality and a (retractable) mic. The first thing I noticed about this headset when I took it out of the package was the extreme light weight. these are much lighter than my Panasonic RP-HTX7 headphones. This headset also includes an inline mic on/off switch and volume control.

And it looks pretty sweet too.

Cons: I wish the wire was braided, or made thicker. It's not a problem, but steelseries could have done better, especially considering the price.

Overall Review: Cons aside it is a great headset, one of the best you can buy for < $100. I haven't had it long enough to test its long time durability, but all things seem to point to this thing lasting a long time. Check em out!

Pros: -Very Sturdy
-AMAZING sound quality
-great overall build quality
-mic pulls in and out
-only $80
-sexy look
-comes with an extension cable
-sound controller
-very comfy

Cons: none that i can see.

Overall Review: I was a little skeptical of how good this headset would be, but after buying them, I can tell they will last for a long time and that they will be very good.

3 out of 5 eggsVery pretty.

Pros: They look pretty nice, I'm digging the red and black theme.

Comes with a mic which is a plus I guess, but there are always alternatives such as the zalman clip on mic.

Limited edition might be worth something in the future.

Cons: For the price, you would be stupid not to buy Audio Technica AD700's. These headphones are pretty step considering the small sound stage.

Overall Review: Yes, after all is done they're pretty nice, but if you're looking for the best type of headphones for gaming, you're going to want a large sound stage and not one that's only on par with most headphones on the market.

Going from these Siberia's to an Audiophile type headphone is like night and day. I can't let these gaming brands sucker people in anymore, I've been there.

2 out of 5 eggsAre you kidding me?

Pros: Sound quality is good, mic doesn't pick up a lot of background noise, the retractable mic was a smart idea, and wire extender gives you the option of a short or long wire.

Cons: These are an absolute horror to wear if you have glasses, I don't have a large head, but I don't see how any full grown adult can wear these comfortably. The suspension design puts too much resistance against the head, constantly pulling them up even after a week and a half of stretching them out, I ultimately used the twist ties that held it in the box to hold the band in a slightly more comfortable position, and had to severly bend the suspension bows out to lessen the pressure against my ears, which while not severe, will typically leave me sore after use.

Besides being hideously uncomfortable, in their efforts to make a light-weight headset, SteelSeries provides a cheap build, I can hear plastic clicking whenever I move my head, but as light as they are they’re still extremely uncomfortable, completely defeating the point of a lightweight suspension design.

Overall Review: I bought this headset becuase of all the reviews saying how comfortable they are, but they simply aren't. If you have a small head or are still a teenager, I'd say go for it, but if you wear glasses beware, since all of the pressure against your ear is toward the top, due to the design.

I only give it 2 stars, not only because of the poor quality in the build, the poor implimentation of a suspension design basically allowing it to fit only folks with smaller heads, and the fact that I paid $90 for what ammounts to a $40 headset. Keep shopping folks, there are MUCH better headsets on the market for the price. Try the Razor Carcharias or if you don't mind a circumaural design the Sennheiser PC161's
