5 out of 5 eggsBest MMORPG I've played in a while

Pros: Lots of choices for character customization, fun class stories, and lots of content. Quests are given in conversation, instead of blocks of text, and I find this very nice for getting into the story and not pulling a "TLDR".

Cons: You have to setup a subscription to play, even with the free 30 days of playtime you initially get. In theory, you could just cancel the subscription after you sign up and then play the 30 days, but you'll probably want to play past 30 days anyway :p

Overall Review: Shadows are a bit extensive on my Radeon HD 5570 (most areas have me around 90% GPU usage while overclocked). The Shadow options are Off, Low, and High, with Low being blob shadows. Kinda sucks going from High to Low imo, but nothing significant I guess.

Also, not sure if the physical box has any involvement with "Origin", but in any case, I just grabbed SWTOR's downloader from their site and pre-loaded the entire game beforehand, and when I got my box, I just took the key and applied it to my account, and was able to log right in (aka, I didn't use the discs to install).

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Voice acting is pretty neat
Gear customization (Will be improved next patch and become better)
Continous patches-Bioware has been on top of all the bugs in the game.
Community is not as bad as people make it out to be. Makes me think that most of the people that post negatives on here work for the Blizzard marketing department to try to deface the game.
Leveling- Leveling in this game is quick and easy if you what to do. As a matter of fact you can igmnore questing all together by doing Flashpoints(Dungeons) PVP (sometimes yields more xp than quests) and space combat missions that are daily. Daily heroic quests are more than abundant in some planets. I made it to 50 in a matter of daysa nd it was lots of fun.

Cons: SWTOR is not a bad game and many of the bugs upon its release have been fixed but the BW team still has a way to go to get things optimized. The following are the negativesfor me:

Skill delay-My system runs this game at about 57-60 fps with 26ms latency in crowded places on a heavy server but I still get annoying skill delay. BW has to address this fast.
UI-BW needs to make this more customizable. The UI actually blocks certain skill slots on the right hand side of the screen during warzones. Its also static and unmovable.
Space combat-Basically 3D space invaders -Uses a rail system.
Mounts-Speeders (the mounts in the game) need to have speed boosted. Feels like it takes forever to get from one side of the map to the other.
End-Game- As mentioned above I'm a 50 and end-game content is limited for the time being. This will improve of course.

Overall Review: BW has been keeping up with changes for this games and they are optimizing it everyday it seems. Don't be so quick to right off this game as being bad. Its actually pretty good but its only been out for a month or so. In fairness if your are a person easily annoyed by minor bugs and run WoW with Pentium 4 PC than find something else to play. Pong maybe? Thats an MMO right? hehe Just kidding. Give the game a shot. It has alot of potential but BW needs to get cracking on issues that are major to some players. For me its most def. the annoying skill delay. The combat system is good but its needs to be polished. Enjoy guys.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Amazing Stories
Voice Acting
Quests make you feel like you're actually doing something to help the Empire/Republic.
Good Engine
PvP is fun once you get used too it and find your groove

Cons: Lots of bugs but you hardly notice a lot of them.
Engine has Shader Issues.
Mirror Class Imbalance.
Uses a lot of your RAM when playing at High Settings. (causes random framerate drops)
Game textures need improvement.
Water is never higher than your waist. ( you can't swim in it everything is like a puddle. )
Not much to do at level 50.
People can report you and get you a warning even though you said something that wasn't really offensive, unless that only happens to me :(

Overall Review: I've read a lot of other reviews saying how expensive it was and that it has a monthly fee. It's an MMO, what do you expect? Tons of the Cons are being fixed in the first major patch of the game 1.2 (which should hopefully be out this month.) if you want to see just a few of the things that will be in 1.2 go to their website and watch the trailer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MMO

Pros: Great voice acting, beautiful graphics, big budget, amazing story

Cons: Lag comes and goes but gets better with time and patches. Not as much end game yet due to priority bug fixing and being a new MMO. Need a decent PC to run at high.

Overall Review: Ive had the game since day 2 pre launch and i will be here for years to come. The game is amazing. I played WoW for 5 years, AoC for a few months, Aion and rift the same. WoW and SWTOR are the top dogs. If you like one you will like them both. They are different games so dont go in comparing the two. I play both wow and SWTOR for their great game play. I would recommend SWTOR to all my friends.

4 out of 5 eggsGetting better

Pros: - voice acting is superb
- no "grind" to max level
- themepark style MMO
- fantastic story

Cons: - weak endgame content
- huge system hog
- odd artistic style

Overall Review: If Bioware can keep the content comming, then this MMO has a chance to recover from it's rocky start. The game is excellent from 1 to 50 but can drop out from there. The seriously excellent voice acting should be a new standard for future MMO's as it really adds to the game.

5 out of 5 eggsBioware is Amazing!

Pros: Love this game since I am a Star Wars nut!

Cons: Wish I would have waited to get it for the price it is at now.

Overall Review: If you are not really into Star Wars like I am and are into MMORPG's then I would recommend sticking with WoW or Guild Wars 1 & 2. Just my personal opinion.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't bother paying for it

Pros: Game was fun when it came out. I quit initially because it cost money monthly. Sort of like World of Warcraft or Everquest, only in the Star Wars Universe.

Cons: There is absolutely no reason for you to spend money on this game. Its free and online. There isn't a single player campaign you can play offline.

Overall Review: Customer Service was pretty bad when I bought the game. I cancelled m account immediately when originally signing up understanding they auto billed my account although the first month was free. Informed them I cancelled it initially and they still charged my account. They gave me a ticket number that ended up getting lost in limbo.

5 out of 5 eggsSWToR

Pros: The story line is well put together. Every character has their own story and haven't found any character with the same or similar story. Customization with gear and weapons. Something new is added almost every month.

Great graphics and music on every planet.

Cons: Still some bugs with finding materials out in the worlds with different professions.

Overall Review: Space combats are good but not what I expected. I'm not saying this is a con, more of an opinion.

If you love Star Wars and all the games before this one. This is a must get.

2 out of 5 eggsNot a ad game, but...

Pros: Story is very well done. I have played a Bounty Hunter, a Smuggler, and a Jedi Sage all to max. Each of these stories was truly satisfying.

Cons: Customer Support may as well be provided by a big box stores. Technical issues get answered like the reps are reading out of a binder. The blanket responses to individual technical issues are very annoying. In the end most issues are resolved by other players on the forums. Sad, because it really is a good game.

Overall Review: There are the normal bugs, especially after patching.

5 out of 5 eggsI dont like MMO's... BUT I LOVE THIS!

Pros: I bought this as a christmas present for myself. I was apart of the beta testing and thats how I decided on buying it. I think if more people could try this game they would buy it. I always thought to myself why would anyone pay $15 a month to play a game that they just spent $60 on. Well, this game is worth it. If you do decide to buy this game, check out the less popular smuggler class. He's a good guy with a rogue attitude. The only character in the game who doesnt answer to anyone, and makes you laugh alot

Cons: Paying $15 a month, but it's worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Launch, Has Potential

Pros: High production values and the game is quite polished for a MMO at launch. It's not without its bugs and other problems, although balance is surprisingly good at maximum level (50). I wanted the physical copy for a reasonable price, and Newegg delivered as always, shipping it to me with great alacrity - easily in time for the holidays. The game has great "200-hour" story-lines for eight different classes (each diverging into two advanced classes) with a decent amount of content. I also played UO, EQ, WoW, etc. at launch, and this game has the most endgame content at launch, although that's not saying much. If you want a story or a Bioware RPG, this game is worth the initial price of admission, and of course it is great for Star Wars/KotOR fans. I feel I got my $60 worth just from messing around with 3 classes during less than two weeks of play, but be prepared for some growing pains (which can be a positive for some aspiring players!)

Cons: Longevity remains to be seen - although they have already announced new content less than a month into the launch, a very aggressive plan. Multi-player characteristics are currently underwhelming (may feel like you are playing a single-player game, at times) and there are some balance issues with crafting and classes during leveling. Minor bugs do permeate the game, but they are consistently being documented and fixed; the forums are surprisingly constructive, but time will tell. Difficult to tell if this is worth a long-term subscription yet, although that goes for most launch MMO's. As a MMO veteran, I was a bit disappointed at some of the amateur reactions the team made to problems in the game (slicing comes to mind), but their forward responses to the community have given me hope. The graphical quality is also underwhelming, I expected more of the engine - some say improvements/high-res are on the way - albeit the audio is fantastic.

Overall Review: You do not have to "pay $90" in order to "try out" this game. You simply need to set up a subscription with a credit card or Paypal. This is standard practice in the MMO industry, as it protects the company and the customers from fraud, gold-farming rings, etc. Additionally, the troubles of setting up an account are also for your security, although I had everything set up before I even had the game - it's called doing research. That is how MMO's are handled, if you aren't ready for that, don't get into it. It's just unreasonable to expect any different and give a lower rating for it.

If you are looking for an entirely new MMO experience, look elsewhere. If you're looking for something to replace WoW, maybe you should go back to WoW, as most times you'll just find reasons to be disappointed because of your expectations. If you want a solid MMO and are ready to graduate to something a bit different, this is your ticket, just don't expect the world less than two weeks after launch.

5 out of 5 eggsSWTOR

Pros: This is one of the most fun games I've played in a while, and definitely the best MMO. It has managed to keep the fun single player feel of the original two Knights, AND the fun community and MMO feel. You actually do feel like some super awesome Star Warrior, and involvement in the story. Group missions and conversations can be a blast. PvP is great fun, and makes it easy for anyone to jump in and do alright (still have to have an idea what you're doing to really do well though). The classes all seem very useful. Everything is well balanced without making any class lame, or less spectacular than it should be. Crafting feels rewarding for the time you put in, albeit a little expensive.

There's plenty positive I could say, but I think you get the idea.

Cons: All MMOs have bugs of course, and this game is no exception. That said, I'm actually surprised how few bugs I've run in to. Also, the SWTOR team is very, very quick about replying to any bug reports I put in.

There is obviously always room for improvement. Supposedly they already have more pvp arenas in the works... Things I would like to see in addition are swoop racing, pazaak, arenas and/or other tournament modes with spectators (think gladiator style), and open space of course.

Overall Review: While the Star Fox-esque space is fun, it really feels below the rest of the game's standards. I want to see an open space system implemented (it is an mmo after all). Despite what most people say, this was never marketed as a "mini-game." It wouldn't surprise me though if they do release a space expansion in the near future.

FOR ANYONE WHO PICKS THIS UP: ..... of course it has a subscription fee. Most MMOs do. It's not even sneaky... it even says right on the box. Just like any service you get regularly, you have to pay for it. What you're paying for is server expenses, additional content, etc.

4 out of 5 eggsA long road to go

Pros: -Beautiful graphics
-Deep story
-The Force
-Well adapted "choices" to proper factions when questing
-Amazing soundtrack
-Surprisingly fun third person pilot missions
-Good options to tinker with if you're use to playing that "other game" in the interface

Cons: The only reason I'm not giving an extra egg or taking one away is it is to soon to tell what will and what will not be:

Cons I've come across:
-Very bad texture/mesh collisions with outfits, you can not avoid looking like a clown with some things going through other clothing. (Not so bad since gear is replaced while leveling, end game sets would be unforgiving)
-Wait times on tickets, It's still been 5 days since mines been looked at and it was a fairly simple fix on their end
-No conformation on "special currency" purchases, accidental clicks are tragic and unforgiving, a whole day questing can be a total waste when you pick the planet currency as your reward everytime.
-Plenty of small "glitches" that need to be fine tuned
-Balance is needed with some solo class missions (either overly hard even above level requirements)

Overall Review: I realize the list of cons is more in depth then the Pros, but keep in mind this game has seen one real patch.

I also used cons as a "warning" system with some things so you don't end up like I did.

I look forward to seeing the game evolve, if it does not it will plummet to the 19.99 section then in to utter oblivion... *wipes tear away at the memory of Vangard*

5 out of 5 eggslol @ the 1 - 3 star reviews

Pros: Do you like World of Warcraft? Do you like BioWare games? Did you like Knights of the Old Republic 1&2? Do you like light sabers? If you answer yes to any one of those you will enjoy this game! Fully voice acted gives you the feel of Skyrim rpg type games, mmo world gives you the ability to play with your buddies.

Cons: My con here is the same con I have for every company that pulls this garbage... it cost money to produce the case, the install disc's, the manual; all that has a production cost. So why in the world isn't the digital download cheaper!? That's an insane marketing scheme that drives me up the wall. Knock 10-20 bucks off the game price for digital downloads, because that's what the reason for downloading should be - to save a few bucks by not having to buy the packaging and everything that entails.

Overall Review: I read the 1 to 3 star reviews, and everyone that wrote those reviews needs to lower their tech rating to ZERO. All MMO's work like that! All mmo's require a credit card up front or you don't get to play. You don't get charged till your free 30 days is up, and if you cancel before hand then there's nothing billed. And if you don't have a Credit Card, set up a paypal account. And if you can't do either of those, mmo's are NOT FOR YOU.

2 out of 5 eggsPerspective from a Republic Player

Pros: Lots of story to soak in (with voice acting!) Combat can feel rewarding and smart when you begin getting your main abilities and talents. Space combat and just having your ship in general makes you feel like you're part of the SW universe. Game looks pretty good and unique with it's art direction and style.

Cons: Overall it's a fairly tedious and boring MMORPG. Depending on the server, the faction imbalances can really your PvE/PvP experience. My server as a Republic player was very barren even on the fleet with 100 or less players on it. Each planet you progress through can be in the same situation as well.

Crafting just doesn't feel like it matters in any meaningful manner aside from providing something to do as you level. The UI may or may not be to your liking, and it has few ways to change it. No addon support was a bit of a bummer. The Looking for Group feature is in dire need of a revamp as very few people use it or even aware of it's existence. Questing doesn't change much from the 'kill these' and 'fetch those.' Gear acquisition seems to favor PvP in regards to time investment.

Overall Review: My experience from leveling to 50 with my smuggler was alright. I enjoyed some things and avoided others. When I reached 50 I felt that the content provided for me to do was very drab and uninteresting. It was difficult to find groups with the very limited Republic population which really turned me off to playing. PvP could be fun and exciting when my team wasn't outnumbered by the Empire but that wasn't typical.

I having stopped playing the game but I hope it does improve in time (and not go free-to-play). Just, please, don't play a Sith Inquisitor. There's enough of them already.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad, not great

Pros: Star Wars!

Cons: Not quite the sandbox feel that Star Wars Galaxies was. I know, you're thinking, "well DUH, it's not SWG!" and you're right, but I still think SWG had an edge there. For you absolute purists out there, the game feels just a little repetitive to me; I can't see playing much after your initial character finishes his end game scenario. Also, for those of us who prefer a non-combat play style, there are simply no options (again, I'm thinking of SWG and the Trader/Artisan prof). I LIKE the game, please understand, but it could be improved.

Overall Review: If only I hadn't wasted money on the collector's edition. That statue is idiotic!

5 out of 5 eggsA Great Game!

Pros: Great looking game.
Fun game play.
Quests that gets you involved and wanting to find out what happens next.
Stylized character class quest line. (A different class quest line for each class).
Very satisfying Player vs Player (PvP).
World PvP!
Challenging and fun operations (raids).

Cons: It still has a few minor bugs but nothing game breaking.
No Anti Aliasing as of yet.

Overall Review: If you are a fan of Star Wars and enjoy Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games, this game is for you!

Running around on different worlds you notice all the detail that has gone into the game. Pretty amazing job, in my opinion.

Pick up this game, it is so worth it!

5 out of 5 eggsThe warmest SWTOR

Pros: This is probably Bioware's best work, hands down. Such an amazing and beautiful game, also the fastest growing in MMORPG history. Bioware accomplished an outstanding perfection in this decade.

Cons: Glitchy in some areas and lags a little bit in others, but they will fix this.

Overall Review: They should probably make KotOR III now?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MMO

Pros: It's a really fun mmo with many, many hours of gameplay available. There is a great PvP (player vs. player) experience for those who are competitive, a vast amount of content explorable as an individual player, and a decent amount of content for those who prefer to play in a group and tackle dungeons and bosses. The game comes with 30 days of free game time as long as you activate your account with a credit card, but if you prefer not to pay for game time you can just cancel it before paying anything.

Cons: I can only think of two things:
1) You have to pay monthly to play aside from the first 30 days. That's typical of almost all popular MMOs though so I won't deduct an egg for that

2)The loading screens take a considerable amount of time. I'd estimate around a minute or so at each loading screen. It doesn't sound too bad but sitting through enough loading screens it takes a considerable amount of time away from gameplay. I'm considering buying a SSD just to combat this.

Overall Review: Star Wars: The Old Republic is a great game and is the fastest growing MMO with over a million subscribers within a week of release. If that doesn't say anything I don't know what will.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Game with loads of potential

Pros: This game is HUGE.

Each main aspect of the game can be a game in and of itself. I know players who play fulltime PVP; some who concentrate on their Legacy (in game system for those with multiple characters; fulltime storyline PVE; fulltime Raid/Operations PVE. Take your pick each is its own game and they are all here in a neat package.

Its a well done version of a portion of Star Wars not deeply explored.

It has loads of potential and loads of new real content are in the works as we speak.

Cons: Former other MMO players expecting this to be everything and complaining it is nothing, while it still a new game.

The recent update making the acquisition of top end PVP gear easier is frustrating to someone who geared up completely the hard way.

PVP elitists have already become an issue, espousing and pontificating about their perceived superiority over those who play casually and berating them for not being "uber". This has also been seen on the PVE side but not nearly as much.

Overall Review: This game is what it is. New. Things are being updated regularly and retooled to fix legitimate issues and perceived issues.

Pros: Oh boy are you guys in for a treat.
This game is AMAZING. Normally i dont like paying for MMO's but this is deffinitely worth 15$ a month. The graphics -Great- and how biwoare added no text all speech quests is a great addition regarding that i was sick of reading quests in world of warcraft.

Cons: Only problem i see in this so far is that once you hit level 50 there is not an objective (yet) Im 100% sure in the future patches that will be fixed over all this is a great game and i really suggest it to everybody

2 out of 5 eggsWait another 3 months

Pros: Voice Acting
Story
Music

Cons: -Combat is still bugged and not working right
-Melee and ranged DPS imbalanced (Jedi/Sith melee classes acknowledged to need a fix they have not yet gotten)
-Significant graphics clipping
-Significant and noticeable audio glitches
-Launcher and patching issues that remain a problem 3 months after launch
-High end systems (hex and octocores with high end vid cards and 12+ Gb RAM) unable to pull better than 50fps - lower (single digit framerates) in Warzones and high pop areas such as Fleet, while low end rigs that barely meet min specs to run the game pull better frames due to recent optimization changes. In beta, those high end rigs were pulling 110fps (the cap for the game is 112fps.
-Game is unable to utilize SLI or Crossfire technology at this time and ATI 6900 series cards still cannot enable AA
-Guild banks and other guild options not due until late March/early April, 3 months after launch
-Highly touted Legacy system still not in game, also not due until late March/early

Overall Review: This game launched too soon, as we expressed to the devs during closed beta - it wasn't ready.

There are many issues with graphics, audio, questing (bugs, quests unable to be dropped and restarted to work around the bugs, points not accruing properly, inability to complete companion discussions), and combat bugs and damage bugs.

Most of all, there is a massive memory leak that is caused by the Hero Engine and the way the software utilizes resources is questionable and can and has overheated graphics cards (Players state the game consistently runs their Fermis at 90C for hours on end, Nvidia states the max operating temp of the Fermi chip is 97C. Personally, I think that's cutting it a little close and I won't run mine that hot. My ATI's don't get above 65C under full load - ever - and their max operating temp is 85C).

They need to get the launcher/patcher issues, game engine, and customer service issues fixed. Right now, as a serious gamer, this game is a solid 6 out of 10.

Pros: it was fun for a couple of weeks.
if your a hardcore star wars fan like me, its worth a buy.
you dont need a suped up pc to play it. a dual core o/c to 3.5 should be fine. but you need to play on the lowest settings.
fun if you have friends to play with

Cons: gets boring too quick.
missions and quest are long and annoying.
it takes a lot of playing time to get to the good stuff.

ohhh and having to pay a monthly subscription sucks.

5 out of 5 eggsPlaying MMO since vanilla WoW

Pros: First to all the people saying this game sucks,or is "free",you are all a little miss informed. It has a "free" to play aspect but it has limits.basically you can log on and run around a bit.No mounts,No vanity pets, limited flash points, limited PVP,Limited in virtually EVERY aspect of the game. Now, let me say that this game was better when it dropped that WoW was after almost a decade of development. That is just the plain truth.I have played MANY MMO's SWTOR is definitely around the top of the best list.this is a great deal but this game is not for everyone.DL the free version and try it.you have nothing to lose.one more thing.I have had to call EA numerous time for various games and problems.they have ALWAYS been courteous and extremely helpful.Have they always solved my problems,no,but they have always taken care of me in other areas with some DLcontent or something like that.As long as u aren't an jerk to them you should be fine.

Cons: Needs a little work but the game just game out.give it some time.it could be one of the greats!

Overall Review: Children should be ban from gaming.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat single player game, semi-good MMO

Pros: In short, SWTOR is fun if you want a single player RPG with some multiplayer thrown in. There are eight different main class-based storylines, so if you don't mind rerunning at least some of the same side quests between them, the game offers up a lot of variety.

I had great fun playing through SWTOR on my first character. I had the most fun with the detailed class storyline and also enjoyed the group-based flashpoints and heroic quests.

In particular, I enjoyed the Imperial Agent and the Smuggler storylines. The Sith Inquisitor line is good if you like zapping things. The others are good, though not hugely memorable.

Cons: I leveled that first character to max and then started others, but after that I simply became bored. The non-class quests are mostly rather bland (largely involving killing lots and lots of stuff) and so too are some of the class quests.

The combat is not very exciting compared to WoW's or GW2's or almost every MMO I've played (it is better than DAOC's). The graphics in general are not amazing and yet they run relatively slowly.

Overall Review: SWTOR is planning on going free to play in November, with free accounts being able to play through all the story, so my suggestion is to wait until then and play it as a single player game with some multiplayer elements. If you like the MMO aspects of SWTOR, then buy all the extra stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: New egg as always is awesome. Delivery was fast. As far as media player goes, it works great with all my downloaded movies. I am not sure what the other reviewer was talking about with the Chinese subtitles mine displayed everything in English and worked perfectly as soon as I plugged it in. So far I have had no problems with every movie that I've played on the media player and that is over 100+. The hdmi interface works fairly well. It uses the smoothing technology in most led televisions. I'm not a big fan due to it makes everything look like its in fast motion. I have not tried the card reader.

Cons: None so far. Time will tell. I can't remember for sure. But I am fairly certain that the offer came with a mail-in rebate. The rebate expired on the date of purchase and I was upset when they did not send any paperwork for the rebate even though i purchased it prior to the expiration date. Not too big of a deal, just the fact the media player does everything that it advertises and it was fairly cheap much cheaper than most movie players advertised.

Overall Review: I cannot try a lot of formats as far as movies go. Many of my movies are AVI MP4 divx. So I'm not sure how other formats would respond to the movie player. But so far so good it's read every single one of my movies that I've played.

In case you're wondering, I am currently using a Seagate 500 GB portable hard drive plugged into the media player using a USB.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fun game. The classes are fitting. Crafting is good. The cinematic game play where your choices influence the path of your character are great! The storyline is great as well. Customization is decent for face, hair, head accessories.

Cons: The "Auction House" is clunky at best. The maps can be hard to figure out where you are going if you are not on a quest (that will change with time played I'm sure). Not the best customization options (see pros!) - there are only 4 body types... too skinny, medium, amazonian/barbarian, and robust.

Overall Review: If you like storyline games, this one is among the best I have played. I am a long way from end game, so I hope it is not as big of a disappointment as most MMOs become when you have finished the storyline.

5 out of 5 eggsSWTOR!

Pros: I tried this after wasting many years on World of Warcraft, and so far I have not looked back . It's a great game with alot to do, plenty of variety and a mostly mature player base. Don't listen to the trolls before you try it!

4 out of 5 eggsWell I re-subscribed

Pros: The "gimmick" to this game is that it is story driven and voice acted. Both statements are true. The leveling experience is story driven as each class has a specific story that progresses as you level. And every quest is voice acted, pretty decently even. Many classes to choose from to fill the basic trifecta healer, tank dps.

Cons: The story driven quests comprise maybe half of the quests, the others are typical mass genocide of Tusken Raiders and pelt gathering missions. The recently implimented Group Finder tool does drastically improve the process of finding groups for Flashpoints but, unfortunately you have no ability to specifically select a Flashpoint(s) that you want to go to. You either select that you want to go to Flashpoints of your level range or not. Loading times moving between planets can be pretty brutal.

Overall Review: I have been playing pretty much since beta. I let my subscription lapse a couple months ago because due to population drops it was impossible to find groups for Operations. While it was possible to find some groups for end game Flashpoints, leveling was a ghost town. Now however, servers have merged and population is up by at least 5x. Couple that with group finder, it is now possible to find an Operations group in minutes.

This game takes many cues from WoW. The combat is pretty similar as is the loot structure. However it lacks the character and humor that the Warcraft universe has.

3 out of 5 eggsMaybe

Pros: Its getting there, despite being highly regarded after a successful beta, I feel like many that the game was at best 3/4's of the way done. Months later now the game is showing promise after several radical game changes and content injections.

Cons: Terrible at release. I determined the game "broken" in a sense, and just kind of.. hung around.. now things are much better, and I think most of what they wanted at release has been implemented, like the group finder and other pretty standard items.

Overall Review: So far, a grand total of a "meh" judgement. Great fixes, and despite a strange appeal and "playability" I find this ones on the fences still for me. Alot of beginners, and alot of "seconders" that finally left things like asherons call (that was still going?!) and everquest, and the like. Strange mixture of people that play this game. Good and bad thing there.

5 out of 5 eggsPeople are too judgemental

Pros: -Epic storylines
-Beautiful graphics
-Plenty of planets to visit (with more on the way)
-Great character selection (with more on the way)
-Hours of fun

Cons: None

Overall Review: Everyone keeps mentioning bugs and comparing this game to WOW and it's all a load a bull. It's not old content, MMO's just happen to be wrapped around questing/PVP. At least SWTOR has an epic story for each of its characters. If you want a storyling in WOW you either need to read the books or go back and play Warcraft I-III and even then it's hard to follow. And for those who complain that not a lot of PVPing is going on, maybe that's because people are engrossed in the story and there are better things to do. All you WOW fans are just upset because your MMO is on its last limb. Once Diablo III comes out it's all over and the servers will eventually just shut down. The bugs and maintenance are just part of the process. SWTOR hasn't been out 6 months and already people are complaining. Great things take time. I know WOW wasn't up to par when it started. If you want lame fantasy play WOW. If you want true imagination and the most bang for your buck, play SWTOR.

2 out of 5 eggsmeh

Pros: Well done storyline for most classes, but same starting areas make alts an exercise in boredom outside of class story.

Cons: Tons of annoyances/bugs months after release. Crafting system useless, endgame boring, dead servers make grouping/pvp a long term project.

5 out of 5 eggsBest MMO I've ever played

Pros: The game has a lot of solo content: Missions that one player can tackle. It also offers outstanding Heroic level missions that players can team up for. The voice overs for both PCs and NPCs is well done. The missions have had a lot of variety to them, including optional bonus awards that one can reach for. The interface is superb.

Cons: There are a few bugs that crop up now and again, although this is to be expected in an MMO release. The starship combat was pretty, but seemed darn near impossible to win the battle. Crafting seems a little on the thin side, but that's not why I'm playing this!

Overall Review: It will only get better. If a buyer didn't know it had a monthly fee past thirty days they didn't read the box or play a major MMO before.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Game, Good MMO

Pros: Good Combat Engine
Good Graphics
Nice Crafting System
Great Class Stories
Voice Over is Well Done

Cons: Still has a few of the same bugs it had at launch.
Exploiting doesn't seem to be as controlled as it should.
End Game content is limited.
PvP warzones are horrible at end game.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: Lightsabers...It's a decent Star Wars setting, good worlds and story, but that's about all there is that is good about this game.

Cons: Once you get to level 50 it is boring. The end-game content of this game is pathetic (I hate to use such a strong word, but it's all that fits for this game). I leveled 3 characters to 50 just because once I got to 50 it was just so boring I had to start over. After the third time around I realized I was playing a great single player game, and paying a monthly fee to do so.

It's not a bad game, it is however a terrible MMO. It's certainly not worth any sort of subscription.

Overall Review: I followed this game since it was a rumor and waited anxiously for it to launch; pre-ordered the first day it was available and played solidly for 3 or so months. I enjoyed the whole story the first time around, and the class stories were good the second (and third) time around. Like I said it's not a bad game, but it is a terrible (terri-bad even) MMO. It is a long way away from a good MMO and it will take them another six months to a year to get it right (as others have said).

I really wanted to be playing this game for a while. My first MMO was SWG and while this is nothing like that I've wanted something other than the standard elf/dwarf/fairy MMO for a long time and hoped this was it...it certainly is not of that genre, unfortunately it's simply a terrible MMO experience...bummer.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible "current gen" MMO

Pros: Its in the SW universe

Cons: Buyer beware!!!

This game is hemorrhaging customers and fans, and there is a reason:

1) Atrocious customer service
2) Minimal endgame - its a joke
3) Theme-park style game play
4) Heavy handed forum moderation to hide the truth
5) Game engine is a 3rd party pile of junk. The fact it still running DX9 when DX11 is already out pretty much explains everything. Game engine is unable to handle more than 50ish people in a shard/instance etc and thus must be split up (even in fleet)
6) Economy is non-existent
7) Arcade on rails "space-battles" is a sick joke
9) Dev's are clueless and disconnected
10) PVP is a joke
11) Crafting is nonexistent
12) Classes are completely imbalanced

There are so many ways to compare this to the big elephant that is WOW, but this game just falls flat on its face. And don't even bother dealing with customer service, or point out problems, because you WILL BE MODERATED. Its a massive BW/EA coverup really, to hide how bad the state of this game.

Overall Review: This is NOT the same company that bought you Baldur's Gate. Ever since EA bought them out, they have put out nothing but trash (see DA2, ME3, etc).

3 out of 5 eggsMega ($$$) Multiplayer

Pros: Very good RPG game designed around a well known type of engine.
It can be installed thru the 3 DVDs or by Origin once you download the installer and run it: it adds an app inside Origin which lets you install it from there or run it.

Cons: If you don't pay, or at least "plan to play" as in "register a credit card to be charged the montly fees" you won't play... not even your free 30 days.
DVD's setup.exe doesn't work on Windows 7 x64 with Bitdefender on, you need to select the compatibility tab and mark everything from Administrator to 256 colors to make it work... it has a weird bug and this might be the only way to make it install.
Game doesn't sell outside the US, it's blocked at Origin's EA site.

Overall Review: I was expecting to play with out programming my CC to be charged automatically every month, I am afraid I won't like the game and I will forget to disable it and end up with a pointless monthly fee charge.

Can't give it's deserved 5 eggs because of the issues explained in previous parragraphs. I was very generous with 3 eggs.

Like expected Newegg performed perfectly while buying from the iPad app and on delivery, I am just not happy with the way Lucas Arts do business... are they so desperate to get MORE money? Did someone lost some recently...

Anyway I will give it a try.

2 out of 5 eggsA sinking ship

Pros: -Amazing graphics (for an MMO)
-Well done cutscenes
-Music (it's SW, enough said)
-Community is alright

Cons: -Broken PvP
-Old, unoriginal, and uninspiring gameplay

Overall Review: I liked TOR, I really did, and I wanted to be able to continue playing, but whats sad, is that playing this game, made me renew my WoW subscription. There is NOTHING new about this game other than the obvious cutscenes and interesting story. It's obvious the game will drop subscribers and be dead by Q2. If you are looking for the next big MMO, just keep playing WoW, or continue waiting for GW2 (or if you're like me, do both).

Pros: Star wars
it isn't WoW
Bioware
Story
Flashpoint raids are fun
PVP is more than hack and slash

Cons: So many noobs play dark side it ruins the fun of being a Sith I i go dark on the Republic

Overall Review: I was a preorder and prerelease tester. Why trash a game that isn't like your favorite game you are a fan boy of. I think WoW sucks and GW sucks, FFO, D&DO and LOTRO suck, but you don't see me knocking them.

I i also have a life and okay this game maybe 4 hours per week. Have played it since before launch I i only have 2 50s.

I enjoy the PvP, PvE and social aspects of the game, I i really enjoy the single player story is far superior than any other MMO.

The only other mMO i will try going forward is Elder Scrolls online.

2 out of 5 eggsBilled as an MMO - plays as a PVE

Pros: Decent story line with vast areas to discover. Great PVE Content.

Was fun to beta.

Cons: Poor end game. EA discovered they had poor coding for their RVR on the "end-game planet" and instead of fixing the code, they left have left it broken and eliminated the RVR on the entire planet. Now it is just another planet for PVE and doing your "daily" kill tasks.

Resolve is broken and even though people have submitted video proving it, EA/BW still refuses to fix it. "Heavy armor" has the armor factor of cloth. The healing class, Troopers, have been so nerfed, very few people play them anymore. When the stealther class is the best healer in the game, something is wrong, imo.

Original play was fun and beckoned people to work together as a team. Present game frowns upon PUGs and is more favorable to Guild play (3+ Guildies playing a wz together).

3x overpopulated servers and 20 medium-filled servers and 177 near empty servers.

Have to play on a server within your continent - foreign players have been shunned.

Crafting is poorly addressed.

Forum is scrubbed of any po

Overall Review: Game does not support SLI.

Must set ALL CPU,memory, and GPU settings to Stock - OC'ing will end in BSODs and CTDs.

Levelled 8 toons to 50, all in 60+ gear and end game was still "meh"

"Glow stick" twirlers are heavily favored in this game, whereas big gun toters are more benchwarmers.

2 accounts, both sides, and the most fun I had was the rakghoul plague - spreading it in the WZ's. Of course EA/BW only had that in game for a very short while.

So much wasted potential - Lots of hype - Poor delivery

Pros: None - The game was terrible.

Cons: Don't buy this game, its free now, buying the game will just be a waste of money.

Overall Review: This game is now free-2-play and you cant do any little thing without paying money. They don't even give customer support to people who bought the game and are playing free. You just have to make a free account and pay monthly to get everything. You don't need the game anymore.

2 out of 5 eggsNice try Bioware/EA

Pros: The overall idea having a cinematic mmo with good pve and pvp seemed to good to be true. I did enjoy leveling up my toon up to about lvl 20. Then I realized I never had my expectations met. Perhaps I've just been spoiled.

Cons: Terrible crafting. I could write 1,000+ characters on this alone, but i'll leave it at SWG. Star Wars Galaxies got crafting right, and was really hoping this game would take something from it.

No complex player economy. Like I mentioned earlier, I quit playing this game once i realized it wasn't going to be a SWG2, which i truly wanted. Zero player housing, cities, shops, etc etc.

Bottom line, I never truly believed I was in the Star Wars universe. The immersion just wasn't there for me.

Overall Review: I love bioware. I've always had a love/hate relationship with EA, but now that is turning sour. They no longer seem to care about delivering a quality product, but instead focus on hype, poor delivery, and abandonment towards their customers.

1 out of 5 eggsYour really buying a Beta

Pros: Fully Integrated Speech into quests makes it more engaging.

Cons: This game has many many bugs, with high end computers receiving low frame rates, as low as 14 on an AMD FX 8 Core build with GTX 560 slied. The quests are repetitive, and the PVP has no brackets, allowing only level 50 toons to have decent pvp gear. There is no content really after you get level 50, its really a game that was released too early. Don't buy this if you think its a WoW alternative, because it isn't. Bioware hasn't vetted this game as well as blizzard does in its sleep for its maintenance patches. The company isn't very responsive to the community, Patches are scheduled and delayed and then delayed again... planets are huge confusing lands with a lot of phasing, quests are just annoying with large travel distances. Classes aren't balanced, the game requires polish. The subscription is too much for a game of this quality, and its not worth 60$ a copy.

Overall Review: Give it time, let EA put its money where its mouth is and fix its beta. Id say atleast 6 months to a year.

1 out of 5 eggsold republic or old gameplay?

Pros: Cancel subscription went through fine.

Cons: Group size limited, and group content worthless.
Gameplay lacked complexity and depth/variation.
PVP was almost non-existant, even in a "PVP server."

1 out of 5 eggsgame is wonderful

Pros: it's STAR WARS, really.
even if you are not a game player this is a way to walk the streets and see the sights as if you were in one of the movies.
if you are a gamer the game is about what you would expect from bioware and is easy to understand and get into at the entry level and as you progress through it the new complexity is introduced gradually and you will find yourself growing with the game as you go.

i don't mind paying $15 a month for this game, it is worth it.
if you're new to games online this one has good introductory initiation to the club.

the other players in the game seem to be more friendly and helpful towards new players than in many other online games i have tried.

Cons: i don't mind paying $15 a month for this game, it is worth it.
the billing system is killing this game.
i strongly suspect that many people are starting the process to become a subscriber and halting the process partway through because they don't like what is being asked of them.
you need to have a credit card or some other way for them to automatically charge you for your monthly subscription fee.
i figure if i am not playing a game often enough to know that it is time to renew my subscription i don't want to be surprised with paying for something i am not using with no option for a refund.

the disrespect shown to the people playing the game through this billing system is insulting beyond belief.

i find it hard to believe that a game company like bioware or an entertainment company like lucasearts would allow their customers to be treated so disrespectfully.

it's shameful that we are required to just lay back and enjoy this violation

Overall Review: i don't mind paying $15 a month for this game, it is worth it.
i can't use the game code that i bought here to extend my game time on my existing subscription.
this game is being killed by the billing process that forces you into an agreement to be automatically charged each month.

this is completely unreasonable and beneath the dignity of the two companies involved.

i am saddened to see this violation perpetrated on the user base and do truly believe that it is that main reason that they have needed to reduce the amount of hardware originally invested to operate the server side of the game.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good for someone who likes a hack and slash solo or limited interaction Mass online game.

Cons: Where to begin.... Graphics on this game are already 3 years behind.. Max person raid is 8 people. Max group is 6 but you'll never come across 6 people actually looking to do the same thing as you. Lvl'ing up is completely hung upon doing the same ol kill task quests... Cant just go kill stuff somewhere and lvl up and get gear that way, it's total quest driven. The char. armor is drab all brown and blah, all the way to lvl 50. You can change like 4 colors of lightsabers and that's it.. Overall go back to WoW or Everquest and wait for Diablo 3 to come out.

Pros: Origin is optional

Cons: When you get the game home you won't be able to play it because they want more money. Either a credit card or game card is required to activate the 30 days of free time that comes with the game. "Free time" Those that opt out of or don't have a credit card will be forced to pay $90 for SWTOR just to find out if it will run on their computer. It's not a very good feeling, an most of you won't find this out until you get the game home, and it's too late.

1 out of 5 eggsBioware is less than thrilling

Pros: It has good voice...? Thats all anyone says
Its above the norm, but its not innovative to say the least.
It has a decent story if it can hold your attention past level 25. (not likely)

Cons: The engine is by far one of the worst optimized engines created to date.
The controls are clunky and unresponsive to half of the games moves.
There are far too many moves per class, some of which do the exact same thing.
The UI is stiff, annoying, was made in a rush.
The companions are just a pet dressed up.
The rail shooting is just a glorified atari game.
The high res textures are locked down via developers choice.
The quests are HIGHLY repetitive, I'd say theres maybe 6 different quests the entire game.
Every injured person you come across for a quest is standing in the exact same position the entire game as if no one would notice.
The traveling is so aweful, it takes a good 10 minutes to get anywhere and you feel like you've accomplished absolutely nothing.
The dialogue is "meh".
The entire world is at a stand still, absolutely nothing is happening aside from traffic on one planet.
The loading screens are horrendous and theres lots of them.
The pvp is the worst to dat

Overall Review: In all reality this is just a sub-par wow clone at best, and at worst its the worst investment I've made in quite a few years. I bought this to escape wow not cover it with glowsticks and glitter.

I really could go on and on, but you'd be better off just overlooking this game or atleast wait 6 months til its out of beta.

2 out of 5 eggsA disappointment.

Pros: It's Star Wars. The lore is good, and as always BioWare tells a good story. Great voice acting, varied plots, etc.

Cons: It's an MMO. The game was developed by BioWare, who have no MMO experience and have developed a fanbase around their superb single player games. I pre-ordered the game because it was a BioWare game. And, much like Mass Effect 3, I found myself disappointed. The game did not hold my attention past the first few weeks and I actually didn't touch the game at all for the last week of my subscription. I have not renewed it since.

Overall Review: If the game moves to a Guild Wars style of single purchase supplied by microtransactions, I would consider moving back. The game simply is not interesting enough for a monthly subscription.

They should sell this for $10 to recover the cost of the media it comes on (to download it is about 15 Gig which on DSL is a killer) OR give you a year's time to play for your purchase.

Pros: Game is cool, never was really in to the mmorpg. I figured i'd try it based on the fact that i loved the the older, knight of the old republic series. Game has lots of items, quests, team adventures which force you to group to fulfill quests. overall the game is fun

Cons: The game play does get a little to repetitive, Automatically deducted money and put my account on overdraft, don't really think its fair to charge monthly for a game that cost me 60$ to begin with.

Overall Review: After the fist month i got bored of it. being fair it is new and there seem to be alot of updates that come out for the game. so maybe in time It will be a little more fun for me.
