4 out of 5 eggsA Quality Product

Pros: Like the previous reviewer said, it's a "ProCurve."

Cons: I wish the switch's chassis was a full 17" wide so it could be rack mounted without having to use the (supplied) extending ears.

Overall Review: This switch is somewhat expensive in comparison to similar products from other manufacturers, but I paid the extra money for its quality and warranty.

Pros: Rock solid build. Totally silent. High performance. Very easy to setup. Awesome warranty. Zero problems with this switch / no need to power cycle it or anything. Completely sold on HP now when it comes to switches, would buy again and have been recommending them to friends.

Cons: They don't make a 48 port of the 1410 series, have to step up to the more expensive/advanced 1810 series. Which sort of makes sense but sometimes people only need basic gigabit switching.

3 out of 5 eggsDead port after 1 month of use.

Pros: Unmanaged, easy to use. Nothing really to say. Metal enclosure and appears to be high quality and durable.

Cons: After one month of usage, I had one port die on me. I contacted HP Support under the shortcut tag "ProCurve Switches" and was transferred to that department. Lifetime warranty, sure, but this device is only two months old, and only one month of usage. It is well within any warranty. Next day replacement? No. After my first call with HP support, I was told that I would get a new switch shipped to me. The next day, I get a call saying that I need to complete a survey before they can even consider sending me another switch. By the end of day 2, I still have not received the email for the survey which means I have to wait another day to possibly complete the survey and yet another to receive the switch.

Overall Review: I had purchased this switch because of great things I heard about HP, their ProCurve line, and support. It's the first time I used HP's networking equipment and unfortunately it might be my last.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Switch

Pros: Fanless, quite. Small. Got to replace my cisco switch that was causing network issue with x-box and PS3 connection time. This little guy solved my issue and i didn't ave to do anything, plug and go! With a lifetime warranty (we use at work and its true) can't go wrong...and was $100 cheaper than my Cisco switch.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome switch

Pros: My first HP switch, I've had this switch for a couple months now running 24/7 and it's been great. No management features, which is what I was looking for, (my network is very simple and straightforward, so any management done by the switch is entirely unnecessary.) sturdy metal casing, no wall wart, and of course wonderful fanless silence. It's nice having all of the status lights in one area, although some may find this as a con. Can't beat the warranty either.

Cons: I have to say I was a bit bummed that the switch I received does not have any of the ProCurve markings as shown in the images. I'm not taking any eggs away since this doesn't detract from the functionality of the switch or the warranty. Everything else is identical though.

Overall Review: With the warranty this unit comes with I'm expecting it to have higher quality and a more solid build than similar switches. I can't imagine HP would want to spend too much money overnighting these things all over if they were to fail easily. Also, it was nice of HP to include the angled power as where I've placed this there isn't much room behind the switch.

Pros: Its a ProCurve! We bought this switch for a client that needed 24 ports of gigabit Ethernet, however didn't need all the management features of the more expensive 1810. Switch supports jumbo frames, and fully saturated it keeps the throughput exactly where it was with only 2 clients connected.

Cons: Not even web managed. Similar Dell and Cisco switches in the same price point have management features, however I wanted jumbo frames more then management.

Overall Review: PROCURVE WARRANTY! Seriously it is as good as you have heard it is.
