5 out of 5 eggs*PRODUCT* Review

Pros: I've had two of these fans, one in my old Antec 900 case and one in the Antec 1200 I currently use. They push a TON of air. I replaced the blue LED's with red, and it looks even better now. These are crazy quiet for how much air they move. I highly recommend, IF you know it will fit in your case.

Cons: People see "200mm" and assume it's the same as every other 200mm fan out there. Not the manufacturer or the fan's fault. Don't a-s-s-u-me anything!

Overall Review: The rating system here is for product reviews, not to advertise to the world how mentally deficient you are. These fans are fantastic. DO SOME RESEARCH before assuming they will fit in your CM case. CM makes fans too. If you bought one of their fans, and it didn't fit in THEIR case, you might have a reason to complain. ...or if this fan didn't fit in my Antec case, I'd be a little frustrated. But it does, and it performs like a champ.

Pros: Obviously it is a great fan considering it's large size so yes, it moves a lot of air quietly!

Cons: None really except for the Product Info Page being a bit Misleading as far as Compatibility goes!

Overall Review: IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS IS NONSTANDARD CASE FAN MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR THE ANTEC LINE OF CASES SO ONE SHOULD BE CAREFUL WHEN PURCHACING FANS FOR YOUR MAKE, MODEL, & STYLE OF CASE!

5 out of 5 eggsHuge and Quiet

Pros: This thing is a beast, have one at the top of my Antec 900 case and bought another to have as a spare incase it gets discontinued. It moves a ton of air and is VERY quiet, its got 3 speeds, i use it on medium and cant hear it. In fact all 4 of my case fans (this one and 3 120's) are virtually silent on medium.

Cons: It comes in a plain white carboard box, no real packaging. Also the fact that the logo sticker in the center of the fan is off-center drives me insane for some reason, i keep thinking the sticker is sliding off the fan lol.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It is a VERY GOOD Fan.. I have been running this thing since it first came on the market. Antec normally means QUALITY.

Cons: NONE other then still a little pricey..

Overall Review: I have had this fan in & out of 4 cases so far, no issues.. To All those complaining about the mounting, there is no standard for fans over 140mm in size.. So do some research before getting a fan of this size & always be aware that u may have to mod the case to use it or ANY Fan over 140mm..

5 out of 5 eggsAntec Big Boy

Pros: Quiet, moves a lot of air cools my case with this fan for sure. Also has a PWM switch if you don't have a fan controller. fast shipping

Cons: Cost 27.99 was 16.99 at a competitor

Overall Review: I placed this in an old Antec 1080p case that's in excellent condition. I modded the case with a plexiglass window, and this fan and it cools nicely. Its quiet and moves a lot of air through the case.

5 out of 5 eggsGood replacement for dead fan but no LED's

Pros: Keeps things cool under pressure.
Blades are somewhat translucent which is neat.
Quiet.

Cons: No LED's, so if you were expecting LED's you will be disappointed.

Overall Review: Before replacing dead fan, temps would be around 80c, my temps now don't go far above 60c under heavy intensive load and this is with a slightly OC'd fx6300 with stock cooler and an r9-270x.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet and mod-able

Pros: Dead silent at slowest two speeds, and very quiet at the fastest.
Moves a lot of air.

Cons: Like all large fans, it has brand-specific mounting holes.

Overall Review: I just drilled a couple of holes in the plastic of the fan to get 4 holes to line up with my case (a Cooler Master Stacker 810) and it mounts on the side with no problem.

Pros: Prefect replacement for ANTEC case. Fit perfectly in my case.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I had damaged my other fan and cracked it to where the noise was unbearable. Once I dropped this in it was quiet once again.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as intended

Pros: -I used this as direct replacement for my Antec 900 case that finely died after 6 years, ...it fit as designed

Cons: - MOLEX,MOLEX,MOLEX...why isn't this connector dead yet, sata should be the norm
-2 wire only, no PWM control...only a small low/med/high switch
-very short molex connection

Overall Review: Only buy if your replacing the stock ANTEC 900 or 1200 top case fan.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Compatibility

Pros: Moves a lot of air.

Cons: I have done two builds with the Antec 900 using this fan. The fan is loud for a fan this size considering rpm and cfm. Being required to use this fan as a replacement is terrible. Really now - three plastic case tabs with seven screws with fender washers to hold it down?!? And yes it is very much more incompatible than ANY 200mm fan I have ever seen.

Overall Review: I would not purchase this fan UNLESS you needed it to replace a stock fan in an Antec Case. The worse design I have ever seen.

3 out of 5 eggsFitment Issues???

Pros: ...

Cons: ...

Overall Review: To everyone complaining about the holes not lining up: There are NO industry standards for fans larger than 140mm. This means that every manufacturers large fan mounts are proprietary. Everyone who thinks that Coolermaster is somehow the defacto standard should do sum research before downing a product.

3 out of 5 eggsFixable..

Pros: Low RPM, quiet, good volume, well made motor, came in my Antec 1100. Will run OK at 500rpm, and silently but still moving a fair bit of air due to it's size.
That's probably the point of a 200mm fan.

Cons: 3pin, if that's a con even, was very noisy and not correctly assembled initially, but quite fixable and is now quite satisfactory. If I could have gone down the street the night I was building my computer and bought another, I would have, but it was 2am and I wanted to see my new box come to life, so I fixed it. Like a carburetor. Only more simple and without the gas.

Overall Review: The thing hangs face down in my 1100, the droop was too much since the assembly was put together missing a rubber o-ring that serves as a spacer, to prevent excessive hanging down. Once you pull it apart you'll understand.
Pull off the round center sticker, remove the rubber plug, brace the fan carefully and exert a pop of force downward on the tiny silver shaft sticking out of the center of the fan. This will force the round split clip out of the groove in the fan and release it. Once apart you'll see how it works, lube well, 0-ring it to taste (too tight=slow, too loose=noisy), and reassemble using a deep well 1/4 socket to drive on the clip. The guts of the fan actually seem pretty well made, the one from my Antec 1100 which looks identical is in fact NOT a ball bearing, but a pretty good sleeve design which IMO is fine for this sort of thing if it's lubed and pretty sealed up. For under $20, what does one expect really? I imagine there are really really nice 200mm fan's out there somewhere, but they are probably $50 or so.

5 out of 5 eggsBIGBOY200 200mm

Pros: For all of you complaining about how this fan doesn't fit and blah blah blah, read the description more carefully.

This is a custom fan, designed for Antec cases only, and even then only certain cases.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Read before you buy.

4 out of 5 eggsHuge

Pros: Huge Fan, Moves a lot air, great design, has a fan built in controller for adjusting speed. Only your three basic settings of Low, Medium, and High.

Cons: Does not come with screws, slightly loud.

Overall Review: Everyone is complaining that it doesn't fit in the HAF 912. Well, first off this is a 200mm "big boy" fan and you want to put it in one of the smallest HAF cases there are. I'll be putting it in my HAF X 942 when it arrives here in a few hours (future editted review after use in case).

I've given the fans power and they are slightly loud, but then again, we are talking loud out of a case. But they do move some air. These things push, and they push hard.

Major down side is the fact that they don't come with screws. So hopefully your case sent some extra screws. I don't count the sound of the fans as a con/downside. You don't buy a fan this size that pushes this much air and complain about it's noise. Which isn't even that bad.

I bought three of these fans for my HAFX 942. I'll be using one as the intake (side) and my top two for exhaust. (Possibly switching the front one to intake). After I do some testing, I'll record the temps and let y'all know how they truly work

i ordered this to replace an original 200 mm fan in my ANTEC case which was just starting to make noise. but the original fan was much more quiet than the new one.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Air Mover

Pros: This fan really moves the air through my Antec Full Tower and was extremely quiet even on the highest setting. I purchased the case about 2 years ago and the Fan has worked flawlessly until the last month. It is a 3 speed fan which works great for me as the temps in my office change dramatically with the seasons and I can manually change the speed when desired to fit the room conditions.

Cons: About a month ago, the fan started making a clicking sound when running on high. At the same time, the fan will stop spinning when the computer goes into a sleep/hibernate mode and not start back up unless I blow on it or use an air canister to manually get it spinning again or reboot the computer. I am not sure if this is a computer problem with hibernation or a fan problem.

I believe the bearings are going bad in the fan, allowing it to become unbalanced on the highest speed, thus a clicking noise on high that will send you to the loony bin. When on high, the only sound I hear is the clicking of the fan above all else.

Overall Review: I will keep this fan until it stops running on high or the bearings give out completely. It has been a great fan and I cannot say enough about the Antec case. This thing is huge, has a ton of room for all my components, including 2 huge video cards, and it moves a ton of air. I owned an Alienware Area 51 that I bought through Dell 4 years ago. I burned out 2 hard drives and 2 video cards because of the heat generated within their claustrophobic-cramped cases. I bought the Antec full tower, placed my components from the Alienware into it, and have NEVER had a single heat problem since.

If you do your research, you can easily find this fan for around 20.00 dollars including shipping. I love NewEgg and I love their return policy and product support so I will buy my replacement fan here and consider the 8.00 dollars extra insurance knowing that I will have zero issues from them if there is a problem.

4 out of 5 eggsdecent fan

Pros: Decent performance for the noise created. This replaced an nxzt 200 mm that was pathetic (I had to underclock my 5830s by 200 MHz and they were still at 90 C). It pushes a lot of air, but given the large diameter the velocity is slow, which results in less cooling potential as compared to a 12 cm fan of comparable volumetric throughput.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsFit perfectly came on time

Pros: exact fit to the old Antec 900 fan that went bad

Cons: It had a molex power wire instead of the mother board header.

Overall Review: It's not really a problem I just should have paid attention to the description. harder. The fan its self works perfectly. still rating 5 stars.

4 out of 5 eggsReplacement for Antec 900 top case fan

Pros: It does its job. Works as expected. Not exactly the same control cords, but they clicked into the holder on the back of the case all the same.

Cons: A little loud for my tastes, but what choice did I have but to get the fan that fits in the case? Keeping it on low does the job and you don't have to listen to it much.

Overall Review: If you have an Antec 900 and you need to replace the top fan, it's pretty easy to do and it fits like it is supposed to.

Cons: -Original comes with LEDS, this one does not have LEDS.

1 out of 5 eggsFan doesn't fit any 200mm slots

Pros: Pushes out the most air in the 200mm range.

Cons: Doesn't fit any 200mm spots. I have tried to install it in my HAF-X and Thermaltake Overseer case to no avail. The screw holes are not spaced correctly. The fan also has extra plastic for no reason.

Overall Review: Great fan, if you can get it to fit.

3 out of 5 eggsReplacement fan for Antec 902 V3 case

Pros: -Fits in my case, as expected
-Comes with a fan speed switch that is compatible with the holes on the back of the case

Cons: No LEDS - I thought this would come with some because the other fan model available is opaque and is cheaper. The two products also share reviews for some reason so I assumed that one review saying there were no LEDs was about the other fan so I bought the transparent, more expensive version. All I wanted was an exact replacement for the fan but this is not what this is. In the end it's just lights but it's not made clear on the product page that this isn't a perfect replacement.

Overall Review: Unlike what others have said, this is not a perfect replacement for the stock fan as it doesn't have LEDs (it even has the holes on the side for the LEDs...)
My previous fan that came with the case cracked in the middle and fell right down off the magnet. We'll see if this one holds up better.

1 out of 5 eggsWARNING NOT STANDARD 200mm FAN

Pros: I'm sure this fan would work great if I could install it.

Cons: I just bought a new case a COOLER MASTER HAF 912 and it has optional 200mm spots for the top and front fans. I picked up two of these fans and they are useless.

This fan will not fit into a 200mm area (Actual Dimension are 180mm x 240mm x 26mm).

The screw holes do not line up with the standard for 200mm.

It does NOT come with screws. So even if the screw-holes did match up your going to have to go to your local hardware store and find some screws before you can mount it.

Overall Review: I don't even know why the manufacture would bother selling these things if they aren't going to work for 90% of the people that buy them.

Dear Antec,
Thank you for the revolutionary design... FAIL

2 out of 5 eggsNot Compatible with HAF912

Pros: It runs silently and moves quite a lot of air. The switch that allows speed control is a nice addition.

Cons: The fan does NOT fit in a HAF912. The screw holes do not line up. Even if you improvise the mounting, a.g. use cable ties, the fan is too wide the front cover to reattach. The fan I bought did not come with screws, not sure if that is standard.

Overall Review: This fan is absolutely useless for a HAF912. It is a nice fan, but a waste of money for me.

You can try to attach it on the top exhaust, but it does not fit between the motherboard and exhaust.

4 out of 5 eggsWhat the heck antec?

Pros: This fan is quiet, and it comes with an installed 3 speed switch which is exactly what I wanted. It pushes a ton of air and helps cool off my GPU.

Cons: As others have stated, there is no warning that this fan may only fit certain ANTEC cases. I bought this fan without knowing. The holes DO NOT line up with standard 200mm sizes.

I bought this for the side door of my Coolermaster 922 HAF. I was bummed that it wouldn't fit but my case has really sturdy steel mesh in the side door instead of a plastic window. Because of this I was able to get some washers at the hardware store and mount this fan directly through the mesh holes of my case door.

Overall Review: I didn't buy this fan on Newegg, but I would be angry if I did because there is absolutely no warning about it not fitting standard 200mm areas.

1 out of 5 eggsLook elsewhere

Pros: Good airflow. Quiet on low and medium settings, loud on high. Adjustable speeds as well as an on-and-off switch for the blue led.

Cons: Defective or of low quality because it makes a clicking and humming noise that quite annoying, especially at night when there is little ambient noise. Have to RMA it to Antec which is another pain in the a**. Also, as another reviewer has mentioned this is not a standard 200mm fan. It may only fit the Antec 600 case...who knows.

Overall Review: Came with my Antec 600 Case. Happy with the case, unhappy with the fan.
