2 out of 5 eggsReview followup

Pros: Good sound, good features

Cons: Poor construction

Overall Review: This is a follow-up to my previous review. I am on my second headset as the first broke/snapped in half. Motorola replaced that headset since it was still under warranty. The second headset has held up fairly well, but the "comfort strap" on each headset has fallen apart on me. Without this strap the headset doesn't sit properly and is more uncomfortable than useful.

3 out of 5 eggsS11-Flex HD

Pros: Device charged quickly and pairs easily. The multiple adjustments helped it to fit my ears comfortably.

Cons: The sound quality was not as good as I was expecting. The pressure of the device on my head behind my ears began to get uncomfortable after about 45 minutes of wear.

Overall Review: When I read of an equalizer I was expecting to be able to adjust bass but only had options between predetermined settings. The sound seemed to waver a little.

5 out of 5 eggsdas good

Pros: -great sound, can pump it up past a healthy sound range, comes with build in equalizer
-really adjustable, eabuds go up and down, backstrap controls pinch
-awesome battery life (haven't come close to empty)
-quick charge really works
-easily connected to bluetooth
-decent range (50 ft+ indoors)
-as sweatproof as it says
-awesome noise cancelling

Cons: -connecting to two bluetooth devices is snickelfritz. You can connect to both but switching between the two has proven unsuccessful. It says you just have to start playing from another source and it will switch but I have to turn off one bluetooth device to get to the other.

-the part that goes over the ear is a little thick. It doesnt make you look goofy but it can irritate after a while if your ears are pinned back naturally.

-I cant wear glasses and these at the same time. It was expected but its a pain when you're cycling.

Overall Review: Great for what I need it for. I use it at the gym, for cycling, and walking around. I fidgeted with them for a long time trying to get the perfect fit but they fit much better when you put them in and let them adjust on their own.

I was able to wear them on a 2 hour ride without discomfort and I have a relatively large head.

Overall these thing make a big jump for bluetooth headphones. The battery life is better than anything I've had so far, the sweat proofing is rock solid and the sound can bump even with a lot of oncoming wind. Its worth the price tag.

3 out of 5 eggsLoved them till they died young

Pros: Great performance, decent comfort.

Cons: One speaker died after three months of regular use. Can be very difficult and fussy to pair.

Overall Review: I adored these headphones until one of the speakers died. I wore them running a few times a week, which may have been too much for them. The rubber lining that rests against your skin began to peel off the plastic case, and one of the speakers abruptly died in the middle of a run. However, they are advertised: "Sweat proof: Hydrophobic mesh and silicone seals," leading me to believe running was a reasonable thing to do with them. I don't know if that's what killed them, but I was very sad to see them go. I enjoyed them tremendously. Unfortunately for the price, I cannot recommend them based on my experience.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Sweat Resistant! Don't Buy!

Pros: Comfort and initial battery life.

Cons: I run 30 minutes a day 4 times a week. The headphones lasted about 3 months under these conditions. The right side ear now suffers from an annoying popping sound and the full charge that initially tells me more than 5 hours will actually run out of battery after 40 minutes of usage. I can only imagine based on all other poor reviews sweat is cause because these are not very sweat resistant.

Overall Review: I've tried Jabre Sport and now Motorola in search of a bluetooth exercise headset. It seems I will have to give up looking for a wireless exercise headset and go back to corded until the technology develops for another year.

2 out of 5 eggs3 Weeks, bad speaker

Pros: The sound is great, pairing is easy and automated. I haven't event had a chance to mess with the buttons while running... read cons.

Cons: Crapped out after 3 weeks of sparse use. Left speaker is completely shot. Very annoying to happen mid run.

Overall Review: This device is either not really sweatproof or I just had a bad unit. I'm going through the process of trying to get an RMA and exchange through the seller since it is within the 30 days.

2 out of 5 eggsNot happy

Pros: Purchased these headphones because my old S9 headphones finally died after 3 years of everyday use. These S11 have a better sound quality for the type of music i listen (vocal trance) with no EQ.

Cons: Broke the back plastic band after 3 weeks of use...
Build in EQs distort the sound quality significantly...
I don't like the multifunction button. My old s9 had a play/pause button , Forward button, rewind button, call button. S11 has all of these buttons combined into one multifunction button + it also controls the EQs - confusing...

Overall Review: an extended battery would be nice... 5 hours of music is not enough.. s11 have the best sound quality out of the all Bluetooth headphones ive tried however a wired headphones like my Sennheiser HD25 sound much better...

3 out of 5 eggsLove-hate relationship with this headphone

Pros: Cool looking. Decent sound (if/when it fits properly).

Cons: It just does not fit!

Overall Review: I only spent a few hours with this headphone and already have this love-hate relationship with it. On one hand, it is a very cool looking headphone. The BT works well. No problem pairing it with my phone/Google wear smart watch. The sound quality is decent (more on that later). No lagging from the BT that I notice after spending 2-3 hours listening on music from my phone. On the other hand, I just cannot get it to fit in my ears properly. Those telescope stems/stem rotation features do absolutely nothing for me. I had to use the smallest ear cups to get the speakers in properly before I could hear any base though. That was by shoving the cups all the way in inside my ear canal. That does not take long before I feel very uncomfortable...quite painful actually. The funny thing is when I put it on on the opposite side, it felt quite comfortable and the sound was much better. I guess that was because the ear cups fit better when put it on that way. This might be the design flaw (the way the speaker is pointing). Or, maybe, I might have funny ear canal.

Pros: Can not get this headset to charge.

Cons: First headset was reliable. this headset was purchased as a backup. It does not charge. Therefore; it is useless.

Overall Review: Will not buy this headset again.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THESE. THEY WILL BREAK!

Pros: -Sound is decent.
-Pairing works most of the time with my Asus Bluetooth USB adapter and my Samsung S III phone.
-Charging is fairly quick. 45 minutes = full charge ("more than 5 hours").
-Cute, English female voice prompts for pairing and charge.

Cons: -If the plastic doesn't snap at the back (part that sits on the middle of your neck) then the rubber ear support piece (the part that sits on your ear) will gradually break off. My first set snapped in the back within a few months. Got a warranty replacement pretty quick that time (seemed like a known issue). My replacement set gradually broke on the ear support within several months (so the earphone dangles by two really small gauge wires). Since only the original warranty period applies they were just a month or two outside the deadline. Since my first experience was decent, I bought my 3rd set. Now about 7 months later, the rubber ear support is starting to crack and is about 70% through. This time I called the warranty replacement hotline, wait time: 27 minutes, I gave up. Called again, earlier in the day, wait time 13 minutes, gave up again. Decided to try the email support link. The email support person must work during the time that I'm asleep, because I would have a response in the morning; to which I replied a few hours later....no response until the next morning. I ended getting the runaround for six days before asking that my request be escalated to the manager. The manager responded not the next day, but the day after. Apparently, she didn't read any of my responses because she asked for information that I had already provided. The worst part is, she said that I needed to call the 800 number for the RA number. Eight days, for this?!?
-Battery life is pretty short (less than 5 hours).
-Pairing sometimes doesn't work. The headphones can't find the adapter that is 3 feet away. Cycling power doesn't work. You have to turn off the headphones and the adapter and start all over. Cellphone stays connected without issue to adapter.
-Not only are they not sweat-proof, they are not dry, casual use-proof. The inner rubber pads that sit against your skull start to de-laminate and the adhesive turns to sticky, gooey boogers (not sure of a better term) that, if you're lucky, don't stick to your skin to be found by your significant other.

Overall Review: I hate to sound like a whiner, but if you buy these, they WILL break, guaranteed. If you're lucky, they'll still be in warranty, but even then, you'll have little luck getting a replacement due to the exceedingly poor customer service. I've gone through 3 sets of these headphones, each with 3-8 month life, max. That's 100% failure in less than a year for each one. You are better off paying less for the same quality or paying more for better quality. These are not worth the cost or the hassle. You've been warned. Best of luck.

2 out of 5 eggsSweet Pain.....

Pros: When I can wear them in comfort they really sound great and eliminate a great deal of back ground noise. they look sharp.

Cons: They for some reason cause the most discomfort I have ever had in headsets. I have wireless LG, Plantronics and regular wired earbuds. So with these I have dealt with tension on and off as I re-try them. I would not suggest these to anyone.... Anyone!
I wished I would have returned after first use.

Overall Review: they probably need more flexibility for different size neck and head sizes. the ear placement seem to place pressure on my skin that after awhile I have to remove.

5 out of 5 eggsBluetooth headset S11-Flex

Pros: Thirty foot range, but crystal clear stereo. Very comfortable. And the household sleeps while all hell breaks loose on the screen

Cons: If you're playing movies on your PC, they sometimes get slightly out of sync. This is most noticable if your pause and restart the movie.....say while you go get a brew. It helps to log out of your movie software, and resume or go to the chapter menu to return to your scene.

Overall Review: If you're as old as I am, you will appreciate not having to use captions.

Pros: Bluetooth and this unit looks pretty sporty and nice. Yeah...that's about it.

Cons: Horrendous sound quality and build quality.

3 out of 5 eggs1 Year later

Pros: -Bluetooth range is awesome, I've never experienced a drop.
-The sound is good (not expecting Bose, just clear and loud - for the gym).
-Pairing was simple and consistent.
-Motorola honors their 1yr warranty.

Cons: -Does not seem to be as sweat proof as advertised.

Overall Review: I purchased my first Flex-S211 HD one year ago tomorrow (4/2/13), and today just put in for my second warranty replacement. The first pair lasted two months before they died, likely because of sweat. The second pair started getting flaky back in October, but they still generally worked and I was still able to charge them. Yesterday they completely died on my. I couldn't turn them off, none of the buttons worked, and it wouldn't take a charge anymore. Fortunately I called Motorola 1 day prior to me being completely out of warranty.

The next replacement will only have a 90 day warranty (original product has a 1yr, replacements have 90-day) so if this next one dies after 90 days I'll have to find a different solution.

3 out of 5 eggsNice but flimsy

Pros: Better sound than a single speaker. Before complaining about sound quality. They are less than a c-note and sound accordingly. Wife says she can hear back ground nose from the engine of a big truck, but I can hear her perfectly on my end.

Cons: The plastic broke on the half way mark, charge is closer to 4 hours.

Overall Review: I really like them, but the material used needs to be a bit more flexible to wrap around the back of the head.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Headphone

Pros: Very decent sound quality.
Very comfortable.
5 hours battery.
Perfect for work out. It doesn't move at all, at the same time you barely feel it ! (never used it more than 1.5 hours though)
Controls are very user friendly and easy to reach.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: Couple of people broke it. If you wear it correctly you should be fine and I can definitely see it happening if not used properly. I don't think they can make it more solid than what it is without increasing the weight, or using titanium, carbon or something, then you have to pay double the price at least, which I don't think is needed. just be kind to it, It should last forever! ;-)

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice, little pricey

Pros: This headset is phenomenal. The sound quality is pretty amazing. The adjustability of it is great holds snug to my head and is comfortable enough to wear all day. It was very easy to pair and begin using strait from the box.

Cons: They do feel a little flimsy but I believe that's part of it staying snug and comfortable against your head. My only real complaint is the ear bud cushions. They are just this horribly thin piece of rubber. I got new ones that hold in my ears a little better.

Overall Review: All in all I do love this head set and would recommend buying it. If it's too pricey for your blood the s9 was amazing as well.

5 out of 5 eggsBest set of Motorola Bluetooth headphones I've owned!

Pros: - The High Definition sound is excellent
- Great battery life
- The rapid charge REALLY WORKS!!!
- Bass is awesome for Bluetooth headphones!
- The Noise Cancellation (dual-mics) and sweat-proof features are as advertised
- Very comfortable (I wear them for a 9 hour shift at work with no irritation, but that will differ per user of course)
- I would agree with one review where the range is around 50+ feet indoors
- Can connect to two different bluetooth sources at the same time.

Cons: The only issue I had was the volume button has the ability to come off. It can't happen very easily but it is capable. If it does and you can't find it, apparently there's no way to control the volume. Don't know if Motorola can replace it or not but just something to be aware of.

Overall Review: I own the Motorola S9-HD, S10-HD, and now these the S11-HD and this set outperforms each of those on every level. I was impressed by the S9's. The bass on the S9's was awesome and the sound was excellent. The S10's was a complete disappointment. The bass was non-existent and the sound was sketchy at best. But Motorola redeemed themselves completely from the S10 debacle with these!

I haven't had any issues with the connectivity of two different Bluetooth sources as one review I've read. I can seamlessly select which source I want to choose from by using the Multifunction button.

The rapid charge is as advertised. I was really skeptical about this feature but it lived to be true.

The S10's had issues where you could hear some popping when sweat started to creep in but that hasn't proved to be true so far with these. I use them at the gym around 3 - 4 times a week and no issues with popping or sound quality at all.

The build quality is sturdy and strong as well as being flexible. This will differ per user, but I haven't had any issues with them being uncomfortable over long periods of time.

After going from the S9's to the S10's, I was highly skeptical in buying these due to how the S10's were. I decided to take a chance and am extremely happy that I did. In my opinion they are definitely worth the price.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing... My ears are still ringing...

Pros: It works... technically...

Cons: I bought this over replacing my old PLANTRONICS Backbeat 903+ Bluetooth Headset with another of the same because my old pair died due to sweat getting into it. This Motorola set was advertised as water(sweat)proof... and technically it is... the electronics don't get wet... but the adhesive that holds the cushioning rubber onto the frame does and when it does it turns into a sticky liquid that oozes out onto your ears :P

Also the sound quality is really, really quiet. I even got a sound booster app for my phone and still had to run with the sound maxed out when I worked out. Now I could understand if it was just too loud in the gym for this device to overcome, but I know that's not the case because of the device's integrated sounds. I'm working out and can barely hear the sounds I'm using this thing for, but when the battery gets close to dying and the device pauses to notify me of this, the sound is sharp, loud, and intensely jarring. I almost tripped and killed myself on the treadmill. So how come the sounds I'm using it for are so quiet and yet the low battery warning makes my teeth vibrate? Very poor design, that's how.

Further the one-size-fits-most ear buds click and pop with every step I take making it even harder to hear what I bought them to hear. Over all, I'd rather go through the hassle of using a wired set of headphones than these.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor headband design and unwillingness to redesign

Pros: One of the most comfortably and best sounding bluetooth headphones I have ever owned

Cons: I have sent this headphone in for warranty replacement three times now. Each time I have been assured that the reason for the failure had been addressed and that this would remedy my problem. This has been so not the case if anything the failure rate has been shorter each time!!

Overall Review: It would seem so easy to address this problem if they would simply use metal ends on the adjustable part of the headband I believe the problem would be solved. Three failures of the exact same the tiny end breaks off the adjustable headband. At which point the are no longer secure or as comfortable to wear.

2 out of 5 eggsDo yourself a favor - look elsewhere

Pros: It functions. It can produce sound and has a microphone that seems to work properly.

Cons: Sound quality is unbearably bad when paired with my PC. Tried everything from updating drivers, to installing motorolla software, even changed out my bluetooth dongle in hopes that it was me doing something wrong. Unfortunately the problem persisted. Gonna have to RMA this and look elsewhere.

Overall Review: I had such high hopes for these headphones. They really don't sound half bad when paired with my cellphone. Unfortunately the sound quality does not compare when paired with my PC. The best way I can describe it is that it's as if they've used some sort of mono to stereo source changing software that failed to catch some of the mids and all lows.
