Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Great Little Card
Pros: Inexpensive
Has a USB 3.0 header on board.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: The case I bought only had USB 3.0 plugs on the front, and the motherboard I have didn't have the header for USB 3.0. This was one of the very few USB 3.0 cards out there with the header on board.

Categories > Add-On Cards > BYTECC INC > BYTECC PCIe SATAIII 6Gbps 1 INTERNAL SATA port + 1 EXTERNAL eSATA port Host Card Model BT-PES321i

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 DO NOT BUY!
Pros: It has an IDE port, if you still have a drive that needs it
Cons: This card caused a new build of Windows 7 to crash CONSTANTLY. After 30 - 40 minutes, the OS would freeze up and then I would get the BSOD. Furthermore, it added an additional 30+ seconds to total boot time. Once I removed this, Windows 7 booted in less than 20 seconds and has not crashed since. This card is totally WORTHLESS!
Other Thoughts: I have been building PC's for 15 years. It is a hit and miss affair sometimes. But, this card is definitely not worth the risk. The machine I was building was for my son, so no harm done professionally. But, if it were for a paying customer, they would be justifiably upset.

Categories > Add-On Cards > Orico > ORICO PNU3539-U3E Desktop PCI - E Express to USB3.0 & eSATA All in one Controller Adapter Card

Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2 Okay at best
Pros: Both eSATA and USB3 in a single card.
Cons: Drivers are beta drivers. The Orico website didn't have updated non-beta drivers. The only way to know what driver you need to install is by looking at an excel file and finding your card. It will then tell you which file to install. And nowhere does it tell you this, I found out about it from another review on newegg.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5
Pros: it does what it says:installs additional 19 pin header inside for usb3 and 2 additional on back... also this is installed on a usb3 motherboard, so i have 2 usb3 19 pin header being used at same time without issue so far.
Cons: could not get driver disk to work, i went to hootoo.com and downloaded the driver installer and it worked fine! really this should be done this way, so newest driver is installed first time.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 great little card
Pros: Low price
Works great
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: This card was the 2 port USB 3.0 PCI-Expressx1. It installed easily and I installed the drivers from their site. Running great on a Win 7 machine without any issues. Put a 4TB USB 3.0 drive on it and it backs up files WAAAAY faster than normal 2.0.

Categories > Add-On Cards > Orico > Orico PFU3-4P 4-Port USB3.0 PCI Express Card

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 works Mac OSX Mountain Lion
Pros: worked instantly on my 2010 8 core mac pro with Mountain Lion. No drivers needed. Just install with computer off, turn it on and boom works perfectly so far.
Cons: Only problem was having to split power off of one the sata cables that connect to the 5.25" bays in order to plug to card, but other than that, great value for price.

Categories > Add-On Cards > Aluratek > Aluratek 2-Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCI Card PCI-Express x1 AUPC100F

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 Reply to "N/A"
Pros: Does NOT "work as advertised"
Cons: Is NOT a PCI card as advertised
Other Thoughts: In reply to the moron who posted the previous "review":

This item is listed by Newegg under PCI, not PCI-E or PCI-Express. The Item title says PCI, not PCI-E or PCI-Express. The item description says both PCI and PCI-E. At best there is a contradiction that needs to be resolved.

Not everyone will immediately realize from the picture that this is a "PCIe x1 card". It is equally logical to assume that the wrong picture has been used, as happens all to frequently.

Only a moron would "automatically assume a PCI advertised product is going to be more than likely one of the PCI express protocols". PCI means PCI. PCI express mean PCI express. If words have no meaning, lets ignore them completely.

Yes, "1 egg Really" because of Newegg's mistake, and because there is no "0 egg" rating.

Categories > Add-On Cards > Syba > SYBA USB 3.0 2-port PCI-e Controller Card, VLI VL80x Chipset, with On-board 20-pin HeModel SD-PEX20122

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 excellent value and performance
Pros: It's affordable, easy to install, and performs well. I'm not seeing any of the issues raised by other reviewers. I bought this because I wanted a internal 20-pin USB 3.0 header since it allows for a simple, clean connection of the USB 3.0 front panel ports on many newer cases.
Cons: There's no low-profile bracket which would be a deal-killer if I needed to install it in a slim desktop or HTPC case.
Other Thoughts: As with most hardware I purchase, I didn't bother with the included driver CD. I downloaded and installed driver version 1.90A from the VIA Labs download page, and it is working fine. There's also version 2.10B, but strangely it is older than 1.90A if you believe the website.
