Categories > Graphics Tablets > Wacom > Wacom Cintiq 13HD (DTK1300) 11.75" x 6.75" Active Area USB Tablet

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 Wacom Is Cheap and the Consumer Pays The Price
Pros: - Great product from a conceptual perspective.
- Provides unmatched functionality w/out paying a much higher price.
Cons: - Poorly designed cable port. It's likely to break if bumped the wrong way.
- Wacom decided to go w/ cheap glass instead of the industry proven Corning Gorilla Glass, so within two weeks it already has significant scratches from it's own stylus! Un Freaking Acceptable! My iPhone 4 in comparison has been tossed around for two years now and still doesn't have a single scratch on the front.
- Limited control options compared to higher end models. It would have been nice to have one of the touch slider controls on the back side like the 22HD has, or a rocker ring that has it built in like on the 24HD.
Other Thoughts: I'm a first time Wacom user and honestly should have done my research before buying the 13HD. I would have discovered that they have been dealing with scratching on their displays for years now. That being said, it blows my mind how they can get away with providing a high end product like the Cintiq without combating known issues like scratching with industry proven technologies like Corning Gorilla Glass. It reeks of negligence and is an insult to the consumer. The fact of the matter is, by releasing the 13HD as it is designed, Wacom has proven that they are cheap and aren't willing to change until they are forced by a competitor. However, without any competitors in sight, this might be a long journey for the consumer. Unfortunately for Wacom, they very well might push away their own consumers instead of building brand loyalty.

Categories > Graphics Tablets > Kworld Computer Co.,Ltd > Kworld Kanvus Life 106 10" x 6.25" Active Area USB 1.1 Tablet

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Works ok
Pros: Works well for the price. See usage tips below.
Cons: Without the drivers, Windows doesn't sense the pen tip pressure. But the Kanvus drivers don't support a multi-monitor setup (they map the pen to reach over the whole screen area, making it useless).
However, with some searching I discovered that the drivers for the Genius "G-Pen F610" will also work with the Kanvus 106 (same chipset apparently), and the Genius drivers properly support binding to a single monitor, plus they support Windows 8. So I highly recommend using the Genius drivers.
Other Thoughts: The pen sensing gets unreliable when the battery gets low. So if you see bad sensing, change the pen battery.

Categories > Graphics Tablets > Wacom > Wacom ACK40401 Wireless Accessory Kit

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Must get
Pros: Works great and easy to install.
Cons: Wireless range is really short. I can't be a couple of feet away from the receiver until it losses connection.
Other Thoughts: It's a must have for my Wacom Bamboo, the wire they provided is too short and gets in the way too much.

Categories > Graphics Tablets > Adesso > ADESSO CYBERTABLETZ8 6" x 4.5" Active Area USB Ultra-Slim Graphic Tablet

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 Really, REALLY not satisfied.
Pros: It's cheap, that's about it.
Cons: Main reason I am not satisfied with this graphics tablet is that there is no option to disable the pen tip button, Is that really too much to ask? Trying to maneuver around anything with it is annoying because you're ALWAYS clicking, making drawing annoying, and playing any type of games with it annoying. And, I messed with it for 45 minutes and found NO WAY to change the scope.
Other Thoughts: It would be fine if I could turn the speed up, and disable the pen tip, and edit the scope.

Categories > Graphics Tablets > PenPower > PENPOWER Monet (SMON85K1EN) 8" x 5" Active Area USB Graphic Tablet

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Pretty Good
Pros: Nice light pen, great responsiveness, seems quite durable. Comes with Photoshop Elements 7 for Windows users (v6 for mac). The twin wheels are a very nice touch and show that a lot of thought was put into this slate. The programming behind it was cleanly done and easy to use. Installation was a breeze - just be sure to install the software first before plugging it in.
Cons: It does not have a protective plastic cover for the drawing surface - which will inevitably build up scratches. It uninstalled my wacom drivers on installation. Packaging graphics of sample art seem cheap and cheesy.
Other Thoughts: In the end, despite having double the resolution and pressure sensitivity of the 9x12 Wacom Intuous 1 which I bought the Monet to replace - it only performed as good as my older board. Which is a complement if you consider that my older board cost nearly a grand a decade ago, yet it wasn't enough to make a sale - so I returned it.

There is also something to be said about my hand being used to working with a larger surface area. If Penpower were to make a 9x12 Monet I would grab it right up.

If you're interested in computer art and looking for something which is more than a child's toy yet unwilling to drop a few hundred on the latest thing from Wacom - check this one out. I think it will make you happy.

Categories > Graphics Tablets > Wacom > WACOM Bamboo Create Tablet

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Seems ok
Pros: Works as advertised. Small and slim. Easy to install.
Cons: Cable is too short(but can use a phone cable to replace it in a pinch).
Other Thoughts: Bought it for my wife, and she seems to be really enjoying it. Her only complaint was that she now wishes it did have a little more res. But of course yo can't get that for nearly the same price point. Also, spend the extra and get teh wifi kit-you'll be glad you did.

Categories > Graphics Tablets > Wacom > WACOM Intuos5 Touch PTH650 Medium Pen Tablet

Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2 Great product spoiled by overdesign
Pros: Still works as well as the Wacom tablet of 10 years ago. There is no good substitute--unfortunately.
Cons: The sensitive area is less than 9 x 5.5, so why has the tablet grown to 15 x 10? How am I supposed to put this monster on my desk? I have to rest the thing on my knees. The old original Wacom was a neat, trim accessory.

Function buttons are all black, so I can't see where they are, let alone what they do. The tablet now doubles as a touch screen, recognizing numerous finger gestures--which I cannot make while holding the pen.
Other Thoughts: The CD-ROM has files on it, but my installer insisted on downloading a new manual. Installation did not give me an option to create a shortcut for the essential Properties dialog box. This seems to be still a very Mac-oriented product.

Leave off all the redundant extra features, scrap the prentious packaging, and reduce the physical size to that of the old original tablet, and it would be a great product, as it used to be.

Categories > Graphics Tablets > Wacom > WACOM Intuos5 Touch PTH650 Medium Pen Tablet

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Productivity increased x10
Pros: Coming from a bamboo, I feel I could do a ton more with this. I'm currently using a Samsung 29" inch 2560x1440 display and this fits the screen perfectly. Comes with a nice bunch of free software to use with this tablet and just using this with Adobe photoshop CS6 (a few minutes ago) I already see increased productivity when it comes to editing photos and rendering artwork (since I'm an artist myself) but the best part is, is the touch feature, where you can rotate/shrink/enlarge/drag an image on screen by just using your fingers on the tablet itself. and it's pretty nifty to say the least and it does take a slight learning curve to get use to this. Bare in mind this is not for the impatient types and yet it's very easy to learn to get use to. I was about to get the "large" version since I'm using a big screen but I'm glad I stuck to the medium.
Cons: learning curve could be of a problem to some people but if you already have a lot of experience using a mouse to edit photos or render artwork, on photoshop or illustrator, for example, you'll quickly see how fast you can finish your work with these tablets. other than that I don't see any other "cons".
Other Thoughts: If you're a beginner when it comes to graphic tablets, you are better off using the lower end models like the Bamboo splash or even the create and capture. 1) you'll save a lot of money and 2) those models are the basics and the learning curve is not as difficult as it would be for the Intuos 5 tablets, but that's just my opinion. The sensitivity, fluidity, and quality of this tablet is superb and well designed. Once you go Wacom theirs no going back I should say. and lastly it's worth the money if you need one of the best graphics tablets around, I'm happy I went with this.
