Energy Power 10 Sub 10" 100W Subwoofer

Great Sub
- Pros: Super easy to setup if you have a sub out on your receiver. Easy enough if you do not. I was not in the market for a sub but the shell shocker deal was too good to pass up. I only needed a little base, but i'm sure this sub could get me in trouble at my apartment pretty easily.
- Cons: No cons, had it up and running right out of the box, get's nice and low and provides good base for what ever you throw at it.
- Other Thoughts: at $65 it would have made a great gift, wish i had bought more.

Pioneer SP-BS22-LR Andrew Jones Designed Bookshelf Loudspeaker Pair

Not Great At All
- Pros: Well-built
- Cons: Poor mids, smeary highs but bass is fine
- Other Thoughts: Suitable for rock music and that's about IT. Pioneer should have given Andy Jones more than a 130 dollar ceiling to create a signature budget speaker. These sound poor and I've tested many value pairs, some of which I still happily listen to. Save up +$100 and get some Polks, Klipsch Synergies or Energy's C series.. You'll thank yourself later.

amazing
- Pros: I replaced a good working Boston Acoustics 10" sub with this to "try it out".....this thing put such a huge grin on my face that it permanently replaced the old sub. It hits so hard and deep, not the loud annoying resonating bass, but rather the kind that makes your shirt and couch shake. My friends didnt know I had replaced the sub, but ever since we all sat down to watch a movie, they havent stopped commenting on how awesome a home theater is. I'm certain this was the cherry on top.
- Cons: none so far.
I read other people complaining about port noise, I'm not sure what their talking about, i did frequency bass tests from 5hz to 50hz one at a time, and only because i saw the curtains blowing in the wind did i know there was air movement in the back...

Klipsch Synergy F-30 Premium Dual 8" Floor-standing Speaker Each

- Pros: The sound, mein gott, it's glorious
Drivers capable of going down to 35hz so there is no reason to get a sub unless you're using them primarily for action movies, listen to rap music, or just hate your neighbors. Bass guitar comes through these beautifully. - Cons: These speakers are big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big they are.
- Other Thoughts: Newegg often runs very deep discounts on these, don't pay $400 for them.

Affinity SB2160 5.1CH TV Sound Bar w/ wireless Subwoofer

- Pros: Best price I've seen for a unit w/ a wireless sub, easy set up, sounds good. Bought during a sale for $99
- Cons: Bright blue lights on sound bar portion can be distracting since it sits just below the TV screen and they can't be turned off or dimmed.

Klipsch Synergy Sub-10 420W 10" Subwoofer Black

Great sub
- Pros: Great, clean, booming bass. Plenty of power. Wound up buying two of these, for two different systems. Each system is used for a different purpose. One for listening to music, older rock, jazz and classical. The other for Home Theater. Works great in both uses!
- Cons: None yet.. Just waiting to see how long they last. Some comments about these leaves one wondering? So far, no problems, and systems used every day for up to 5 hours per day. I've had them for about 4 months now.
- Other Thoughts: Great addition to both my personal listening room, as well as to my Home Theater system. I bought one of these for my personal Listening room, and liked it so well that I purchased a second for my home theater system.
With my personal system, I incorporated a a graphic equalizer and paired it with the Klipsch Icon's, an older M-1 series Kenwood amp, pre-amp & tuner. After adjusting the equlaizer for what I felt the room lacked, the sound is warm, full and wonderful. Enough top end out of the Icons for my liking, and plenty of bass out of the Synergy sub. I have sat and listened for up to 5 hours in a row and still not get fatigued of the sound.. Other systems I have heard, sound fine at first, but after about 30 minutes or so, the sound becomes grating, and annoying. This set-up is sweet and smooth. Never grating or annoying. This sub just completed the sound. I never have to turn the sub above about 1/3 volume, and I used the speaker terminal connectors on the sub, and then passed that signal off to the Icons. Worth the money and the investment, although this system is far from BIG BUCKS. Worked equally well in the home theater with Boston Acoustic HSi480's Ceiling installed 5 way surround speakers, Onkiyo TX-SR674 and this sub. Again, never turned the sub power up beyond 1/2 to get more than enough bass response. Movies rattle the house, before the speaker sounds bad. Be prepared to play with the crossover frequency, as your taste and other speakers will require the sub to balance it's response frequencies to those speakers needs.

Definitive Technology StudioMonitor 350 Bookshelf/Stand Mount Speaker (Black) Pair

Got two more because they're awesome.
- Pros: Bought a second pair of these because I was so pleased with the first pair. That and newegg promo'ed the price to even lower than what I paid for the first set. I should change my name to highway robber. :D My review of the first set stands here too. The only difference is that I'm not using them as mains. All four are the surround channels in my 7 speaker setup. My mains are now Def Tech BP-7006's. Aren't you all just green with envy!? (My center is an old Yamaha shelf speaker in desperate need of being catapulted into my neighbor's window.
- Cons: Def Tech are evil vermin bent on ruling the galaxy. No wait, that's General Sarris. My bad.
- Other Thoughts: These speakers are meant to be put on stands. However, if you have children or dogs (in my case both) then you know using stands is a remarkably stupid things to do. Finding wall mounts for these is very difficult. There are very few that will safely support a 14 lbs. speaker. The Peerless spk 811 is one of them.

Klipsch Reference RW-12d 12" Powered Subwoofer Each w/ New box

Awesome
- Pros: Clean tight low bass of course after tuning it which alot of people don't do.
Looks great
Control's are easy to get used to quick ,plus you can save or default settings.
Came to my house in perfect condition the first time .
Built-in IR sensor for some compatible remotes. - Cons: None really , but it don't have a LFE input I had to use a Y-splitter to the Left and Right inputs or it wont sound right.
- Other Thoughts: Can't wait to get my other Klipsch speakers. People please tune and play your music at a comfortable level and listen for each instrument , too much bass or tremble will cancel out alot of sound for yours ears to hear.
