Categories > CPU Fans & Heatsinks > Zalman Tech Co., Ltd > ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Rating + 3Rating + 3Rating + 3Rating + 3Rating + 3 Might be good for older processors
Pros: Great looks, love the all copper design and the style.
Cons: Mounted this to an FX-8350 on an AM3+ socket using an ASrock 970 Extreme3. The first problem is that the entire HSF unit can rotate on top of the CPU when using the retention clip supplied. Not good! I expected much better cooling performance with this unit, but I actually get better performance with the stock cooler. I have tried various TIM to see if that was the issue, but all resulted in the same poor performance. In the end, I think it was the combination of poor mounting hardware coupled with a processor that generates more heat than this cooler can handle under load.
Other Thoughts: This is obviously a popular cooler and many people have had success with it. For me, I think I had the wrong combination of harware for this to be of any use to me.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Great cooler
Pros: Cools just as good as the EVO and 212+ for only 20 bucks(no rebate to deal with either)

Installs pretty easy once you know what you are doing, depending on your case you may not have to take the motherboard out.
Cons: Only thing i see being a potential con as others have said is the instructions suck, which they do, but it gives you the just of everything.
Other Thoughts: Be careful when taking off your stock heatsink, atleast for AMD users. When i went to take off the stock heatsink it poped off the motherboard with the CPU still attached to it! If it feels like it doesn't want to come off, i would run graphically intense game or run prime95 for a few hours, until its nice and toasty hot, then try and wiggle it off.

Bent the pins and ruined the CPU, so im out $200 unless amd warranty covers that, which im highly doubting haha,

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 WORKS GREAT!
Pros: idle temps on FX6200 went from 32C down to 22C. New version has side by side heat pipes, no gaps. Comes with everything you need to get up and running. Lots of instructions in different languages.
Cons: Some folks may be turned off by the easiness to move the cooler around even after mounting screws fully tightened.
Other Thoughts: Works like a charm. Idle temps went from 30 c down to 22 c. Added Push Pull configuration, which was made easy by the extra mounts that came with the cooler. Vertical mounting allows for direct exhaust out the top.

Categories > CPU Fans & Heatsinks > EVERCOOL THERMAL CORP. LTD > EVERCOOL HPO-12025 120mm x 2 (SSF-12 & Silent Fan) Ever Lubricate CPU Cooler

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Big Effective Cooler
Pros: -Solid Cooling and Allows for Modest Overclocking
-Great Quiet Fans
-Fairly Simple Install
-Mounting Bracket Handles Weight Nicely
-Low Price
Cons: -Large and Heavy
-Would most likely interfere with tall memory modules
-I thought cooling would be a little bit better
-Only one fan is PWM
-Poorly translated instuctions
Other Thoughts: I bought this cooler because of the great price and I thought I'd replace my ThermalTake Frio. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. The cooling is slightly better than my Frio by a few degrees. I ran prime95 the same day with the same ambient temperature and thermal paste to eliminate variables. The install on my EVGA P55 F.T.W. board went very smoothly. There was no interference with my memory or other heatsinks. Take note though that the cooler is supposed to be installed with the angled tower to the front of the case. The towers aren't parallel which is unique for sure. Overall though I am again very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone that has a case and memory to accommodate it.

Rig: Rosewill Thor, EVGA P55 F.T.W. mobo, Intel i7 860

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 5 weeks of waiting and no results
Pros: Seems to conduct well? Not sure, never used it.
Cons: The fan isn't compatible with my motherboard! At first they insisted on it being faulty so I waited over a month for them to send it, after 4 weeks, surely it did arrive, only to have the same issue. Now, they have stopped replying and all I have is a giant paperweight and I can't return it because the UPC label is cut out for the rebate.
Other Thoughts: A rebate is not worth it when the product does not even work. I should have tested it, but the rebate was literally ending on the day it arrived at my house. Plus, how often does a FAN not work with a motherboard? Is it really that hard to design a fan to spin higher than 500 starting RPM?

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Awesome Cooler!
Pros: Very quiet, very cool looking, lightweight, easy to install, and clears the tall heat spreaders on my Vengeance RAM.
Cons: Can't think of any.
Other Thoughts: Running a mild overclock on my 3930k... running at 4.3GHz... I've never seen a temp above 59C. Even during long gaming runs.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Good for my i7 3770k
Pros: Keeps my processor around 32c idle, 55 while gaming, which is great. I don't overclock or anything so I haven't pushed anything but like what temps I'm getting
Cons: Instructions could be a bit better. I really didn't care for the installation of this, but it doesn't lose an egg because I feel it's a sturdy setup.

Categories > CPU Fans & Heatsinks > Noctua > Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 A total beast.
Pros: Fantastic instruction manual. It will allow you to overclock the bajeezus out your CPU with it's massive heat sinks and high quality Noctua fans wedged right in the mix. It also has a nice aesthetic to the design. Pair this with more Noctua case fans and you'll have great airflow.
Cons: This component is GARGANTUAN. Do not install RAM with tall heat spreaders. It clears my G. Skill Ripjaws ram by about 3/8", which has a medium height heat spreader. Some of that high end Corsair ram out there will probably not fit.
Other Thoughts: I've never installed a CPU cooler of this magnitude before. It's a difficult and awkward piece to handle
