Panasonic NN-SF550M 1.0 Cu. Ft. 1000 Watt Counter Top Microwave Oven with Inverter Technology
 
So far, I like it.
- Pros: - more efficient than competitors, as measured by me
- cooks slightly faster
- lower power rating (1000w) and steady power draw from outlet (doesn't cycle between full and partial power) - mandatory for safe use on 15 amp circuit in older houses.
- no turntable! longer/taller dishes may be used. - Cons: - small, rectangular buttons
- way too many preprogrammed cooking settings that few will use
- Other Thoughts: - Unfortunately NewEgg will not deliver this item via Will Call for quick satisfaction / emergency. Therefore I had to buy it elsewhere :-(. Hopefully NE will continue to carry this hard to find item.
- Rotating microwave distributor below floor is new tech with unknown long term reliability - hoping for the best!

Broken in less than 3 months
- Pros: It arrived at my door.
- Cons: Unlike new products that have not been tested you can always count on refurbished to be 100% tested by humans. This is a certainty I enjoy since w/e I buy I need now and not later. However refurbished is used now as a marketing word and it stands mostly for "merchandised returned by costumers" etc.
The first one arrived all beat up, the second was beat up too but they tried and pack it a little bit. After a few months it will not turn on anymore. I think companies are starting to use this site to get rid of garbage. Yikes.
- Other Thoughts: This is still my second favorite website to shop in. I think I have been a client for at least 8 years (they don't care) but that is the fashion of big business.

Great product for a great price
- Pros: It works, lots of settings, easy to figure out, looks sleek, lots cubic feet, plenty of power, and 4 fan speeds that BLOW... literally!
- Cons: I am definitely HAPPY with this microwave choice, however the fan filter is a bit cumbersome to get to, the plastic door doesn't seem to seat properly at the top (it feels cheap and slightly warped), and the stock light bulb is really dim. The paper template used to drill the holes was a bit difficult to work with as well, but overall not bad.
- Other Thoughts: I replaced a Goldstar (cheap unit made by LG) that was only about 5-6 years old roughly. This unit is leaps and bounds better than that unit. It cooks faster and more thorough, has a lot more internal space, looks great, and it was $215 shipped from NewEgg. Samsung and LG electronics fill my house, not it's time to upgrade the appliances!

Inverter Technology
- Pros: "I put it through the paces", tried all temperature settings and it came through like a champ. I like that it keeps heating at lower temperature settings instead of the on and off like my old microwave did.
- Cons: Exhaust fan is a little loud but not to the point it disturbed me in any way. Exhaust does produce more heat than a regular microwave.
- Other Thoughts: My other thoughts: UPS is not what it once was. Tracking information was totally confusing. It was supposed to be delivered on Friday, (according to their web site tracker) and I waited for it all afternoon and it never showed up. Their tracker was never updated until Sunday and it finally came late Monday afternoon. Also the box had a crease on one corner and the microwave has a kink in the metal top on the right hand corner. Someone bashed the box pretty hard to put a dent in the metal top. It's black so it's hard to notice but it's still there. I am not happy with the way UPS handles freight, whether it's tracking or bashing the boxes around.

It heats the food
- Pros: It heats up our food very well. we have had it for a while now, over a year and it is still working and doing everything we need it to do. we have had a few give up on us in less that a year so we are happy with it. looks nice on our counter in our kitchen. it gets alot of use, we have 3 kids and their friends over almost 7 days a week. we have had a few food explosions in it and still just keeps going
- Cons: stainless steal would match our kitchen better

Seemed like good eall at the time
- Pros: Size,liked the features,inverter technology,
- Cons: Cheaply made, Just Died, I expected it to last longer than this... I don't think more than 2yrs is out of the question.
Door is flimsy.
Not sure which brand is going to be better, but I don,t think I will be buying Panasonic

Very Happy
- Pros: Got this for a Christmas gift for family I live with very happy with it many heating options the best of which is the sensor/reheat that judges how long to heat the food to get it hot and sets timer after a bit to get piping hot food. That way nt over heat and waste money on electricity that is not needed, plenty of room inside for whatever you need to cook
- Cons: it is very big too big for our counter space but we had a large microwave cart that it barely fits on, but it does fit

very sweet micro
- Pros: program knob, looks, sensor cooking .just all around quality.
- Cons: no light when door is open ,but with that said there is a lght when food is cooking and that the door open light is really not missed at all.
- Other Thoughts: this microwave reheats with sensor very well and looks great.
