Simple and Elegant
- Pros: Nice design. Simple Interface. Easy to use tare function. Easy to clean.
- Cons: The feet are not perfectly flush so it wobbles a tiny bit. This disappears when it is loaded.
- Other Thoughts: Good accuracy and weight limit for the price and size.
It does what it is supposed to do well and cheaply.

Rosewill Scale Accurate and Consistent
- Pros: Rosewill RKKS-12001 digital kitchen Scale
Highly accurate and consistent readings, as long as scale is on FLAT, LEVEL, and HARD surface.
I checked performance from about 50g to 1000g using quarters and nickels of known weights in different combinations.
Consistency and accuracy was about +/- 2 grams over the entire range I tried (up to 1000g), as long as scale is sitting on a flat, level, and hard surface. - Cons: Even VERY slight differences in how level, flat, and non-deformable the surface was made HUGE differences in the readings.But, as long as flat, level, and hard surface is used, the accuracy is very high and readings very consistent over time.
While the numbers are easy to see, the "Units" legends ("oz" and "g") are too small. Fortunately the "g" is at the upper-right and the "oz" is at the lower-right of the display. So, memory of their relative positions can make it still somewhat easy to tell which "Unit" the scale is using.
- Other Thoughts: I've had this about 7 months. No problems.
Example: If I put the scale on a small terry-cloth handtowel to keep it off a dirty counter, a 250gram or 500gram calibrated weight reading can change by hundreds of grams. Further, if I then remove the weight, re-zero the scale, then put the calibrated weight back on the scale in the SAME spot, the reading could be significantly different from any or all previous readings.
I put the scale in a clear 1gallon plastic "sandwich" bag to keep it clean during use. However, you do have to make sure the bag doesn't interfere with the readings.

Very good, not perfect
- Pros: Good price, nice looks, low profile
- Cons: The tare button sometimes does not reset to zero. There can be a small difference in readings depending upon where on the scale the weight is located. Aggressive autozero function makes readings close to zero impossible. Automatic turn off after one minute may be too short in some circumstances.
- Other Thoughts: Of the several low-cost scales I have used, this is the best. The cons I have listed are minor, and don't usually affect operation. But let's say I am trying to compare the weights of two objects: I place the first object on the scale, tare the scale, and then place the second object on the scale. If the weight is within one gram, the scale will indicate zero. What if I want to now add four grams of material when the scale is indicating zero? If I add the material slowly, the scale will continuously indicate zero, even as I add five or ten grams to it. Curiously, there is no -1 gram on the scale; the weight will go between -2 and 0 grams. I don't notice a similar skip using ounces. A 1240g weight can vary 2g from reading to reading, and about 5g from the back to the front of the scale. The entire top of the scale, including the two touch buttons, is weight sensitive. Thus, touching the buttons affects the weight. This makes setting a tare quirky; the scale has to wait for the reading to settle before indicating zero, and it's long enough that one sometimes thinks that the button didn't operate, and one presses the button again. Sometimes the tare doesn't reset to zero; it may be off by two or three grams. I'll repeat that these are all minor difficulties, and you should not be hesitant to buy the scale unless you sense a major pet peeve among the characteristics I've noted.

NAS please
- Pros: Very effective and fast. True to the data specs about drive. Very happy with this new tech.
- Cons: Wish Seagate was making devices like this now.
- Other Thoughts: I'd give it a 85% satisfaction rating overall only because got glitchy in beginning when partitioning up the drive, but was able to fix as soon as issue arose.

Looks Nice
- Pros: It's very sleek and modern looking
- Cons: It turns on, zeros, can switch it between lbs. and grams but it doesn't work as far as weighing anything. It stays on zero. Set it on a solid flat surface and tried different things on it, even pressing down with my hand, and it's not sensing the weight.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this as a gift. My bad, now I have to wait to get it back from the person I gave it to so I can return it. Then find another gift for them. Nothing more embarrassing then giving someone a gift that doesn't work as intended. Also there was no packing slip in the box with it. First time in years of ordering from Newegg that I received a product with no packing slip.

Simple and compact
- Pros: Compact
Simple to use
Sufficient capacity and precision for kitchen use or calculating most postage - Cons: Deducted one egg:
Stainless steel plate on top/face is not completely flat along the edges at some places. It bulges up slightly and appears to be coming loose. If more of it comes loose, I will pursue a warranty claim; but if it stays put, it will just be a cosmetic blemish. You don't even notice it at first glance.
- Other Thoughts: When deciding whether to buy, I wished I knew this scale's dimensions. As it turns out, it's perfect for storing vertically in a cabinet. It's the size of a small book--smaller than an iPad in length and width but about twice as thick.

NICE SCALE
- Pros: Stainless steel surface
- Cons: Cannot see any
- Other Thoughts: Tried to power it on before removing the protective strip in the battery compartment. After rereading the instructions and correcting my error, the scale turned on and worked. I no longer have the calibration weights that came with my Ohaus triple beam scale from my studies of chemistry in the 1960s and 70s but I am sure the people at Rosewill have calibration weights.
