Other Thoughts: Rosewill has another winner! Its decent quality for a steal. Super easy to clean, Have had it for a few months now, has a flat bottom with coils built in, which slows down heat transfer, but also doen't create yucky scales either, which is a nice trade off I feel. Unless you're looking for the fastest thing around, you will be perfectly happy with this thing, I know I am.

Pros: Glass material which cannot leach chemicals into the water. Heats water to a rolling boil really fast! Kettle is removable from heating base, making it cordless for movement. Can be set on counter safely.
Cons: Measurement designation is in Liters instead of cups or oz.
Other Thoughts: This is a great electric kettle. It's my first and I really didn't want plastic leaching into my hot water so glass was just the thing. Also, I wanted to easily see inside the kettle for cleaning, which ruled out stainless steel. The kettle does shut off, but you have to fully close the top since the sensor for shut-off is located there. I've missed that a couple of times and it keeps boiling if the lid is left ajar. I use a filter for my water and had no problems with scale build-up on the bottom until recently when I had to use bottled water while replacement filters were on back order. So a water filter might be a good idea.

Cons: No on/off switch No dedicated base station (read: cord is attached to unit) Plastic side walls Hard to clean the inside
Other Thoughts: Draws 730 watts (+/- 10 watts) -- For a household kettle, this is kind of low. But on the plus side, it is doubtful that it will trip your circuit breaker. This is also good for use with a generator (RV or camping trips) as it won't exceed the limits of the generator.
Personally, I'm okay with the lack of on/off switch and the lack of docking base, but the plastic sidewall is a turn off. I don't like boiling water in a plastic receptacle.
As for boiling water, it takes ~8.5min to heat up 32oz (a quart) of water. That's probably faster than my camp stove, but slower than the "power" burner on my gas stove at home (~6.5min).
In comparison to my 1400-watt electric tea kettle, it can boil a quart of water in about 4.5 minutes. But it was also about $50 and has all the modern features of an electric tea kettle (docking base station, auto shut-off, etc.)
In conclusion, this is a decent tea kettle for $20-ish, but I only plan to use this on camping trips.

Pros: Heats water very fast, faster than stovetop or microwave.
Cons: List price a little high.
Other Thoughts: This purchase replaced exact the same unit that lasted me about a year before it stopped working. To me, that is decent reliability for an appliance in this price range. (I got it on special for 25 bucks.)
