Not Outdoor Out-of-the-Box!
- Pros: Small form factor, displays data nicely, supports additional inputs.
- Cons: Requires an additional (sold-separately) probe for outdoor functionality. The smaller device is NOT for outdoor use as it might appear to be. This is not clear from the description, very disappointing, I feel a bit misled. To summarize, this product does not contain Awesome (though, perhaps mediocre and overpriced).
- Other Thoughts: I bought this item as a gift, and I'm somewhat embarrassed, as it's been made to look as though I didn't do my due diligence.

- Pros: none
- Cons: The is the unit sent to replace the defective one I bought originally (see above). The probe failed on the second use. Now it is too late to send it back to newegg. I'm out $20.

Defective Unit
- Pros: none
- Cons: I needed this for a weekend BBQ for the family. Out of the package it had a large black mark on the display, rendering it useless. Where is the Quality Control? Now I'll have to cook the old fashioned way.

defective product
- Pros: it didn't work so no evaluation
- Cons: It came out of the package with a big black spot on the display. like when exposed toextreme temperatures. What a dissapointment! I needed it this weekend for a steak cookout for the in laws. Now I have to do it the old fashioned way. Where was their quality control?

Boom/Splat
- Pros: Easy and semi accurate way to take your temperature even in the dark.
- Cons: After two months of ownership and two uses, it just died. Too bad....while semi accurate, I really liked that it could be used without the lights on.

A good way to go
- Pros: I compared core temperature with a glass thermometer and this probe using the ear canal and it is consistently within .2 degrees. I strongly suggest you purchase the covers with the device for sanitation between users.

- Pros: It kinda works. Relatively accurate. Gave me a reading of 98.1 F, which is about the same as what a store-brand in-ear thermometer gave me shortly before I tested this one out.
- Cons: Weird fault occurred the first time I used it. Test completed but when it was about to announce the results, the whole thing froze and gave me a 188.88 error message. I took out the batteries and popped them back in and it seems to have fixed it, as the second test had no problems.
- Other Thoughts: Probably not the most reliable device but I guess I shouldn't complain too much since it came as a freebie with the infrared thermometer I ordered. This is just a backup to my in-ear one so no biggie for me.

Free because it's junk. I'd rather have a screwdriver or something
- Pros: None
- Cons: DOA. Push buttons and it might make some funny characters on the LCD, a voice might say something random, but never an accurate reading. Could possibly be used as an anel probe instead.
- Other Thoughts: This was a "free" item with purchase of another, which I will avoid from now on because it looks like Newegg is just trying to liquidate their malfunctioning items rather than throw them away where they belong.

trash
- Pros: none. completely no use
- Cons: power on, immediately freeze. and switch of automatically after few sec.
- Other Thoughts: tried to reinstall the battery. nothing changes. there are good reviews, but I assume the failure rate is high, so don't take a chance.
just don't buy it.
That's my first rosewill product, which leaves a terrible first impression. I probably will not buy any rosewill product in the future.
