Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Mountain Bike with Electric assist 8fun hubmotor (eMTB)
Pros: Depending on what type of Ebike one is looking for this is either an amazing Battery assisted offering for Trail riders, OR an underpowered 'let down,' for road/city commuters looking to get away from standing traffic.
The bike is solid, and well built and much lighter than my other Ebikes with the same battery. It's scourced components are definitely not entry level, with hydraulic disk brakes, decent fork and jagwire brand cabling with much of it routed in frame, original bafang/8fun 250w geared rear hubmotor running on a 36v 5.2ah nominal (I have 2 × 5.2Ah) battery pack.
The bike is a pedelec only, so NO throttle control and it's speed is adjustable through its 27 speed shimano gearing (triple chainring with 9 x 3 speed front and rear mid range shimano derailleurs) and a red electric push button, that's been bar mounted to sequentially cycle the motors power assistance levels from level 0 = No power, to level 3 = max power.
For a Chinese bike it's instruction manual is actually intelligible, and as I've said previously, if you're interested in a decently built MTB for trail riding, or need a boost for the uphill parts of your cycling workout, or other similar scenarios, then the Freway Ebike might be perfect for you, it's also been waterproofed for rain and wet conditions, so water will not dangerously interfere with any of the onboard power circuitry.
If however you're looking for a city Ebike with enough zip to not cause traffic probs, this bike will likely disappoint.
Even peddling fast, with a lead on cars @lights, this bike is sloooowww compared to almost ALL other Ebikes I've tried (Even a little A2B folding bike!) And I've sadly yet to exceed 20mph on level ground (The advertising had claimed much higher...) No throttle means cadence control through pedal assist sensor, is the only method of motor control, and the controller power seems to be at a very low amp setting, most likely to maximize the mileage out of the wimpy battery. The result is an Ebike that functions and performs far more like a standard bike, most of the time, only helping on the toughest sections or when geared so low as to be travelling sub 10 mph or so, after 15 mph or so, it appears that the motor cuts out automatically.
It's weight is light, so it's easy to transport up and down stairs, and I don't see any reason as to why it couldn't be taken on public transport like a regular bike too.
Assembly is good and 95% completed @the factory with only minor assembly required with good instructions and a video tutorial to follow online from the manufacturer and the necessary tools are provided for you in the box.
Both the front and rear lights are powered by the main battery and controlled through the built-in in Colour, touch enabled lcd screen which also controls power levels and has timers and other useful onboard functions.
There is a USB socket on the edge of the LCD screen (that I assume)will allow you to power your cellphone from the systems battery pack.
Cons: Reviewed more fully in previous Pro section above...
Bike feels very underpowered even for a 250w motor run @36v
Is without any throttle control, a basic pedelec ONLY!
Hydraulic brakes do not have basic standard Ebike motor cutoffs installed. The battery is only a 5.2Ah pack probably the LOWEST I've EVER seen (basically the size of hoverboard batteries!) It's 25 mile claimed range is really a stretch, yet the battery is priced higher than others with double the capacity and power!
It Came with a broken headlight right out the box, (EVERY SINGLE ONE shipped to the US in the original order from the factory WAS BROKEN,) the company has since sent a replacement (they DID publish a video on how to remove it ahead of delivery time. )
The work dock I bought, had side usb ports that NEVER worked from out the box. The company initially promised to replace it after an RMA is issued, which they NEVER bothered to send, despite numerous emails. Since then their customer service dept has been setup much better and I was sent a new working Dock along with the new Led headlamp, and it works as advertised
Battery will have to ship separate from the bike and should arrive within a couple of days.
Bike only goes about 13-15 mph as opposed to the 22-25 mph on my other factory built 250w bikes.
Hydraulic brakes will need to be aligned properly after front wheel assembly, as the factory left mine touching the disk, so you may need a bike shop/pro to help you assemble it in a roads safe condition .
Other Thoughts: If I needed a bike to get me back into cycling and not fear the uphill parts of the route ruining the workout, this bike would be perfect. Riding it is never a sweat free experience and you definitely need to learn how to shift gears to use it properly.
My first Ebike had pedelec and throttle, and it's probably spoiled me by giving me sweat free rides like a scooter would, with only negligible peddling in assist level 5 at speeds around 24mph cruise.
This Bike has no cruise, you will always work and always need to be alert to gear changes. As such it's still a proper bicycle and feels as such (over half the weight too) although it's very solid for all its light weight. At first I disliked the amount of cycling effort required but I've since grown to like it more, as my cycling strength grows, and am using the other ebikes less for exercise purposes and more now as car replacements for small trips around town.
If all you want is the commute purpose, and getting sweaty b4 work isn't an option, then a throttle controlled more scooter'ish kind of Ebike is probably the better option than this Freway.

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Review of box opening
Pros: The bike is beautiful! I've ridden the bike now for a couple of weeks and appreciate the pedal-assist. It's a gentle push rather than a sudden surge of power. This is good because it helps you keep control of the bike. My max speed so far is 24mph but this is pushing really hard. My cruise speed is around 15mph. If you choose to use full power assist and go less than 13mph, the motor will take you with little personal effort.
Cons: If you want to go more than 15mph, the motor doesn't significantly help.
Other Thoughts: I weigh about 205lbs so hopefully the bike will start to go faster as I lose weight riding in to work.

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 Think twice before you buy as you're not always protected by return policy!
Pros: Looks nice, decent build, the price was great during Black Friday deal
Cons: This bicycle is underpowered; battery has pretty low capacity, which cannot provide enough power for a 25 miles trip. Not worth the investment, because tech characteristics clamed by manufacture in real test conditions were way below.
Other Thoughts: Before purchasing the bike there was not any reviews by consumers but I decided to give it a try and bought in on Back Friday deal which in addition to a discount had extended holiday return policy. It took me almost a month to get the bike while the battery was shipped to me very quickly. When the bike arrived, the box was damaged, head and taillights where broken. After testing it I’ve realized the machine does not nearly performs to what was claimed in tech spec’s section on the web. I decided to return it and here when my story starts. I’ve being using newegg for 10 years now and never had issues when I had to RMA stuff, which I did not do too often. After creating an RMA I’ve realized that there is only one shipping label, however the battery and the bike itself came as separate deliveries for different states. In order to make sure that I ship everything properly I contacted newegg asking if I should ship the bike and a battery separately, I was told that since there is only one RMA# everything should be placed in the same box and shipped as one package and so I did. For about 3 weeks my RMA status was saying “processing” which then was updated to “return rejected”. I called newegg right away to find out what was going on, I was told that the bike was missing a battery and I was asked if I shipped it, which I said and I know I put it in a box with the bike. Customer service rep told me that they would put a hold on my return and do an investigation. I did call back in a few days to find out if there was any progress, and was told that it was too late and my return was permanently rejected, I tried to explain the situation once again telling that I was told that an investigation should be done as another customer service rep told it would. I’m extremely disappointed with the way newegg handled my RMA it is sad because I always considered them to have one of the best customer service among similar companies. Somehow the battery got lost along the way, and now I have to pay for somebody’s negligence as newegg said they would be shipping me back the item. In addition the cost of this battery is $ 300 and now it is missing. I had to contact my credit card company and dispute this transaction, which I had never done before and it looks like I have to go thru a long process trying to prove that there was no mistake on my side. I’m giving 1 egg for newegg’s handling this case the way they did, very disappointing and unexpected for them as for 10 years I had never had a single issue with this company.

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Well built e bike
Pros: I purchased two of the Freway bikes for Christmas. They arrived quickly in multiple shipments, the bikes come from a different location than the battery and power station. The bikes have good components and are very solid. I do agree with the other review that the documentation is poor even by Chinese standards. If needed you should have some one familiar with bikes assemble or assist. The bike is partially disassembled for shipping and just needs to have the handle bar mounted, front tire installed, pedals attached. The brakes are hydraulic which was not mentioned any where that I remember. All tools needed for assembly are included
Cons: One bike had broken pieces from shipping (control panel mount and headlight). I contacted Freway through their support e-mail and received a response within a couple off days. I sent pictures of the broken items and did get replacements within 10 days. They do seem to be understaffed, but this also was during the holidays. They really do need to have their documentation redone, or at least have some links to assembly instructions and adjustments.
Other Thoughts: So far I would recommend this to others, the bike is well built and solid. My concerns would be long term support and I'm unsure if the range is as advertised. I have assembled both bikes and tested, but the weather here is in the 20's to 40 not what I want to test the range to see if it really goes over 20 miles on a charge.

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Good bike well built
Pros: Has a lot of good features on it good tires
Cons: The main trouble I had was no instruction booklet to show how to use any thing on it !!!! I tried to get Freway & newegg to send a booklet but have never gotten any response from eather company this is not the way to do business keeping people short changed . I paid a lot of money for something I know not how to use !!!!
Other Thoughts: I might recommend it if one or the other company would get in touch with me about a booklet the video is not any help on how to use the gears the help center phone # for Freway is a joke they will not call you back and after 15 calls someone awnsered the phone . They said all they were was a whareshous & said they did not know anything about the bike .. I am not pleased at all so far ... Robert kirk

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Great bic
Pros: I put my bic together took it out on a 25 mile city trail worked will battery lasted , need to practice changing gears . Taken out for another city dirt trail worked good, battery is good àt helping accelerating and cruising , Well built , POWER ASSIST
Cons: Does not come with battery is shipped days after , can not be shipped with bic because of chemicals in better. Headlight holder broke the first time I turn the handle bars, I needed to pull wires out more before turning to prevent that from happing , I am trying to get a replacement from freway no luck after weeks, It is just hanging on the bic. If you want power to help u up steep hills it will assist you and then it will cut out and u will have down shift pedal with no assist power. Very well written manual.
Other Thoughts: I like this bic I have mountain bic riding for many years in the Sierra Mountain's of California and city trails , I am glad I get it.
