Other Thoughts: expensive but not bad for what it does

Categories > Calculators > Texas Instruments > Texas Instruments 94327 Connectivity Kit USB for Windows/Mac

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Don't need it for a Ti-89
Pros: Works as advertised.
Cons: Not necessary if you have a newer 84 (with USB) or an 89. All you need for these is a mini-USB to USB cable... I use the same one that I charge my PS3 controllers with lol
Other Thoughts: Ordered it at the same time I ordered my Ti-89 Titanium... I should've done my homework a bit better. Not a big deal, since my oldest kid uses my old Ti-83, and this works just fine with it.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Best Calculator Out There!
Pros: This was my very first graphing calculator I ever bought/used and I couldn't be happier! I'm a college student and needed a graphing calculator for precalculus and I am so happy I bought this one and not any of the others like the ti-83/84. It is very powerful.
Cons: Not really a con but it does take some time to learn all the functions.
Other Thoughts: Wish I had this thing when I took algebra, would have made my life so much easier. I had it for couple months and I'm still learning new things on it.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Fantastic
Pros: -Back lit color screen
-can solve limits and derivatives
-can save files
-3-D graphing
-Rechargeable battle
Cons: -some of my math teachers won't let me use it on tests
-direction pad a little too sensitive as a mouse pad
Other Thoughts: This is a fantastic calculator. I have been using it on math, chemistry, and physics tests for a long time now.

Categories > Calculators > Texas Instruments > Texas Instruments TI89TITANIUM TI-89 Titanium Programmable Graphing Calculator, Pixel Display

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Amazing Calculator
Pros: Does almost everything you could possibly need it for. Very powerful calculating possibilities. Great for Algebra up to advanced physics.
Cons: Sometimes hard to figure out, should not buy if its your first graphing calc as it can be quite confusing and most algebra courses won't have tutorials on this calc (they will on the 83 and 84). This is for advanced users or people who don't mind learning now to use it.

Pricey
Other Thoughts: Keep track of it! I have had one stolen and the other lost. I wish they had tracking devices in them so I wouldn't have had to buy 3 this year. >.>

Categories > Calculators > Victor > Victor 1190 1190 Executive Desktop Calculator, 12-Digit LCD

Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2 Victor 1190 Calculator
Pros: Layout, portable (compared to other desktop models, decimal point adjustment.
Cons: It is unreliable. I work as an auditor and I need to foot several numbers at once. I often don't look at the calculator while typing in numbers, and it seems that the keys are not responsive enough. It will often miss a quick hit on a key. Infact, I totaled 15 large numbers 5 times before receiving the same number twice. I had to be extra concious to check to make sure the calculator picked up the keystroke.
Other Thoughts: I like everything about this calculator, but I have to severly impair the grade of it because an unreliable calculator is almost useless. This would be a great way to do simple calculations, but the more keystrokes needed the more likely it is the calculator will miss one and throw off the entire total.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Great Investment
Pros: Great Display.
Student software that comes with the calculator is pretty awesome.
Cons: Not huge on the keyboard, it's alphabetical like other TI calculators. Would prefer a QWERTY, but other than that, it's a great calculator.

Categories > Calculators > Texas Instruments > Texas Instruments N3CAS/CLM/2L1 TI-Nspire CX CAS Handheld

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 great device
Pros: A HUGE improvement over the Ti-89 titanium. A color screen, friendly computer interface and including physical constants WITH units is great!
Cons: pointer/mouse a little troublesome to start using but when it knows you want this feature it works great.
Other Thoughts: I used the Ti-89 titanium for an undergraduate chemistry/math/physics degree. I was then admitted to a doctoral theoretic chemistry program and have found this calculator an invaluable tool.

Solving for variables in complicated expressions and expanding tedious expressions has become a breeze and I cannot understand why Texas instruments is not charging more for this device.

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Excellent calculator
Pros: Does even more than the description and the packaging claim
Cons: No solar panel to keep the battery charged, although the battery is fairly easy to replace.
Other Thoughts: Bought this as a gift for my Dad, who's something of a financial adviser, and he absolutely loves it.

Pros: Just Finished up my Calculus 1 class and this calculator was great. It can nearly do everything. Its color screen makes it great and you can read graphs very well with color. Its just a great calc. get it if your going high into math classes.
Cons: Sometimes a little to powerful, you can pass a test and not know how to actually do the material.
Other Thoughts: Great :)
