Other Thoughts: Extremely poor quality product. Had problems where the light would work some times and not others after approximately 6 months. After 12 months will not work at all. Do not waste your money. Wish I could give it zero eggs!

Cons: Unlike it was advertised--and you can even read in the FAQ--this light does *not* take 18650 cells. I have no AA sized Li-ion cells to test it with, so I can not speak to that compatability.
The light is focusable to some extent. There is a large halo or side spill from the light at a number of 'zoom' settings. Near the tightest focus, the beam is not a circle, but a very clear donut shape. Once fully focused/tightened, the wire bonds on the LED die are clearly visible.
The zoom or focus mechanism is not geared nor threaded. There seems to be an O-ring to provide some resistance to motion, but the head/lens portion of the light needs to be pushed or pulled to focus the beam. This makes it very hard to keep the light focused at a specific setting if the light is to be pocketed or otherwise maniplated.
Other Thoughts: Knowing that the light be getting was not the one I purchased, I would not have bought this light. It's a nice light, but it's not what I was told I was buying.

Pros: Convenient batteries inside of the front unit.
Quality is good.
Cons: Not bright enough comparing to other modern smd LED offerings that are out there. Would you choose 180 lumens flash light over 1000 lumens flashlight? THAT is the question. With cree smd LEDs out there it's hard to downgrade oneself to low lux lights. My cree flashlight that operates on only 1 AA battery is 5 times brighter then this device.
Other Thoughts: It's ok but I already found a x4 AA headlamp for sale that is brighter--the only downside is that the battery pack is on the back. Look for smd cree headlamps if you want a bright one, otherwise, this one is a very good option if you don't care about brightness.
