Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 Deluxe Bundle Scanner for PC and Mac (PA03656-B015)

Clean your office
- Pros: Fast, easy to install, small footprint, easy to use software.
It took very dim credit card receipts and made them look pristine without any additional steps. - Cons: I didn't buy this sooner. Anyone want to buy a used flat bed scanner?
- Other Thoughts: I closed two businesses and I'm planning to move across country, and I don't want to carry tons of paper with me until the Tax people decide there is no need to call me for an audit. The ScanSnap allows me to carry all my paperwork in pdf form. It took me longer to shred my paperwork than to scan it and place it in an easy to search file.

Good Scanner for the price
- Pros: Quick, accurate and most often reliable, have scanned up to 60 double sided pages with no problem
- Cons: The location where pages are dropped is not reliable, sometimes pages get mixed and they drop off the device.
- Other Thoughts: It does feel a bit fragile since it doesn't weight a lot, but now reaching the first 1k pages its going all fine. SW included is a bit complicated to use.

HP Scanjet 3000
- Pros: Small, light and easy to install within Win7 both 32 and 64 bit with Nuance free software
- Cons: a little slow on duplex. Most software just uses default settings which makes switching between duplex and simplex scanning awkward.

Use the Nuance eCopy Software
- Pros: Comes with alot of software and is a great scanner under the $500 range! You people need to see that these come with Nuance Ecopy Pro Office Scan Software. The software alone is worth $200 for one license ! That is what you use to create and edit and name docs on the fly. It is the best software in the world for document management.
Call support or learn about your product more and you will love these. Canon and Fujitsu lead the Scanner Market and Canon is Number 1 so please install ecopy and learn how to use it. You will love it! - Cons: Some learning curve to high tech Nuance ecopy software but worth it. More help in the box so consumers do not miss that software would be best. The other software can be lite versions or small apps.

Terrible.. rma twice
- Pros: Nice small design..
- Cons: had to rma the first one after 3 days of use because it keeps giving the error msg if you scan more then one paper. Called brother and had to send it back for a replacement. Used the RMA one for 2 weeks and it started having the same problem... Customer service wanted to give me a new peice to replace the feeder.... didnt want to take a chance so i requested for a refund..
- Other Thoughts: I own the ads2000 and that works perfectly.. saw that this was a step up and has network capable.. horrible idea... Love the ads2000 but hate this model.

EPSON GT-S50 B11B194011 48 bit CCD 600 dpi Sheet Fed Document Scanner

software...
- Pros: Decently made hardware. Feels fairly solid accept for the flimsy paper catch tray.
- Cons: The epson software is junk. The interface is terrible and the codecs used for pdf generation produce huge file sizes relative to other programs (3 pages greyscale at 300dpi comes to 1.8Mb). The interface for naming files before scanning is buried deep enough to make its use totally impractical. Came with a gimped copy of Paperport 11 (v14 is current) which locks out Letter paper sizes if any of the settings are changed from the defaults. Forces you to scan in A5... Also suffers from huge file sizes. Played with the current version ($99) which with the default greyscale at 300dpi pops out the same 3 page file at 129kb but also bricks to A5 if you change from the defaults. Scanning anything at resolutions higher than 300 and this thing makes horrid screeching noises. Tech support staff are vapid but at least they spoke english and had no wait lol.
- Other Thoughts: Perhaps we got spoiled with the Canon M-160 scanners. They are fast and come with a very simple interface that the drones aren't confused by. Too bad they are a grand each... Played with Paperport, FineReader, VueScan and Scanitto; the concept that scanning a multipage document to pdf and renaming it easily is the core use of a document scanner seems lost on most of them. Million useless features an none of them just get out of the way long enough to just work efficiently on the core stuff.

Not worth the money...
- Pros: Small, Compact. Decent software.
- Cons: This thing constantly misfeeds papers to be scanned. I've been trying to use it for over a year and am constantly frustrated with the double feeds or worse with this unit. Many times, I will have to practically feed it one page at a time. Thought that Xerox would produce a better product than this - especially for the high cost. Have been very disappointed with this document scanner and would not recommend it to anyone.

Not for business applications
- Pros: Fast
- Cons: No TWAIN, WIA, or ISIS Support! This is not mentioned anywhere except in the operator's manual. This renders the scanner useless for any 3rd party application interface. DO NOT BUY IF YOU NEED TO CONNECT TO ANY OTHER APPLICATION
- Other Thoughts: This thing is useless to anyone but a very basic home user.

So far I am pleased
- Pros: True PC less scanning. Support direct scan to various cloud storage. Scan direct to ftp/network. Scan to email. Touch screen control. Scan to USB. Reliable scanning.
- Cons: Saving settings for shortcut should be more granular. I should be able to scan to Evernote with one click of button using shortcut feature. Not 3-4 clicks even with the shortcut. (choosing PDF/JPEG, DPI, Color/Black...). Yes, response of the touch screen can be better.
- Other Thoughts: I have been using Fujitsu scanners for many years. I have been very happy with Fujitsu. But I wanted a true network PC-less scanner. I found this scanner and gave it a try. I am pretty happy with it. There's no scanner on the market that can match the feature set of this scanner. I thought about jump the ship to new Fujitsu ix500, but I decided to stay with this unit. I hope Brother can improve the user interface of the shortcuts through their firmware upgrade. Support for Skydrive would be nice. With just a bit tweak of the user interface, Brother can make this a 5 Star product.

Fantastic Scanner
- Pros: This is an incredibly fast and reliable scanner. Load your documents, push a button and go. Since is scans both sides of the document simultaneously there is no chance of a duplexing mechanism causing some sort of failure to feed. Great options for scanning to different cloud services. Excellent Evernote integration.
- Cons: Wireless function only works with mobile devices. Why put a wireless card in the scanner at all if you aren't going to allow the main computer to work with it.
- Other Thoughts: The power and USB cables that came with this device are long enough to actually be usable without extension cords, or altering your desk configuration too much. I do a lot of large document scanning. This has sped up my process dramatically. I used to use an HP Officejet Pro 8500, and had nothing but trouble with document feeder. Almost every document I scanned I had at least 3 double feeds, or the duplexer mechanism jammed. The Scansnap does not have this problem and feeds the documents way faster.
