Categories > Internal Power Cables > Silverstone > Silverstone CPF01 3.94" PWM Fan Splitter Cable

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Neat & Essential Accessory!
Pros: Retail Packaging
Very easy to use, isn't as bulky as in photos, so very flexible
Allows for fans to run in sync with CPU fan for added quietness
Great to have a couple extra on hand for when needed, especially when on promo!
Cons: For a Full ATX Tower, could be longer, though this also depends on the length of fan cords. Be sure of specs before ordering fans & read reviews.;-)
On OEM PC's, if the single case cooler is synced with the CPU, there may be a warning, often 'pressing F1 to continue' will stop it. A permanent solution for that instance would be to connect one case fan to that connection, like a less noisy intake fan of reputable quality that can be found here.
Other Thoughts: This is one accessory that I'd highly recommend for more than one reason. One has been mentioned above, syncing fan with CPU. I'm not going on a limb & saying to 'daisy chain' these to a single socket, because every computer is different. Some 3rd party PSU's has a fan connector that can be used with this, and some motherboards are loaded with fan connections. If so, use these to pair two together to save other connections for as needed, and will make for a better wiring job.

As inexpensive as these are on promo, I'd say keep 2-3 handy, we never know when a new computer may come our way, and the first thing after cleaning up & repasting CPU, is to make sure there's enough fans & in the right places. In general, it's good to have at least two exhausts, one at the rear & another at the top, as heat rises & otherwise cannot escape. While passive exhaust is better than none at all, it's not the same as having a fan forcing the hot air out, which brings down temps of every device in the computer. So including the CPU fan & normal single case fan on OEM computers, this allows for two more fans. If a self built PC with 4 case fan outputs, there's zero excuse not to have enough fans in the right places. Two intake & four exhaust when possible on gaming or PC's that's powered on nearly 24/7 (or 12-16 hours per day) will really drive down temps, and Newegg has a large selection of fans, including a few bundles (2 & 4 packs) of decent quality fans. Keep extra fans on hand also.

For SFF or computers called Desktop Edition (DT) that's still a small PC, these really needs better cooling, and these can allow one to upgrade their fan, and when there's three of the PCI ports unused, remove the metal covers & add a small exhaust. This can make a huge difference in component fife.

To summarize things, with this item & just a couple of connections (one would be leftover anyway), one can double their cooling capacity for under $20. There's a Cooler Master 4 pack of fans on this site for order.

Pros: Look Nice

Categories > Internal Power Cables > OKGEAR > OKGEAR FC444PWM-12BKS 12" 4pin PWM fan Y cable w/ black sleeved

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Does exactly what it says!
Pros: -It gives a bit of extra length to giving you an easier time to cable manage or reach the end of a microATX case fan.
-It gives the system control of the fan just as it should.
-It controls both fans at the same speed.
-Black wire covers makes it blend into most black cases.
Cons: -It controls both fans at the same speed. Meaning you can't make the front fan spin faster than a back one, this is a pro if you have two fans side by side though!
Other Thoughts: -One fan input has 3 pins, the other only has two, but still does what I needed.

Categories > Internal Power Cables > Coboc > Coboc TX4SPL3-6 6" Sleeved 6 inch 1 to Three(3) x 4-pin TX4 PWM Multi-Fan Power Splitter Cable(Net Jacket)

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Had to research... still good
Pros: - works as intended. see Other.
-nice fish net like covering over the cables makes it so that I can nicely position my cables to the front or back of the chassis fan units.
Cons: - you might have to research on how to use it. see Others, and ill explain how to use it. (not much of a cons)
Other Thoughts: The device works as intended. It take one 4pin slot and distributes the power to all three fans, as if it was one fan. Logically this is how its suppose to work. after researching. Its rather hard,(or we havent gotten that far in technology) to make a cable that makes one 4 pin slot to turn into 3 separate fans with sensors and all. This is why there is two connectors with 3 pins instead of 4 in weird ways.

Lets explain the pins. The first pin is power. This is the real pin that controls fan speed. less power the slower the fan speed the more the faster. the second is ground. Obvious reasons. (extra power is disbursed) the 3rd is a FAN SENSOR SPEED. this senses the speed of the fan. (However, why is it missing in two connectors....well, because you dont need it.) the 4th sensor is where the real sensor comes in. and if you remember what i said for making 3 separate fan speeds is impossible. this set up makes it so that one fan controls all fan speeds. (so best to make sure you have 3 of the same fans with the same rpm)

How to use:

-This is super simple. first you plug your 4 pin female into the mobo to get ready.
- Next is to make sure you have a BOSS fan. or in computer terms... a master.
- this "master" fan will have the sensor power and everything of a 4 pin fan.
-Connect this fan (depending on if its a 3 pin or a 4 pin fan) connect this to the 4 pin connector.(the only one with 4 pins)
- The other two connectors are Workers... or in computer terms the slave.
- These two fans will work at the same speed as the master by sending ONLY power(if your using a 3 pin connector fan)
-These two fans NEED to be at least on par with the master fan. any lower and you might be working those fans to hard and making them work at full speed tell they die to short.
- Now remember, when your using software like Speedfan or ASUS ai suit. it will only show the "Master/boss" fan speed. Remember... All for one. All fans work as one.

Enjoy
