Cons: It did not work going from DVI to VGA. I tried various different connections cables going from DVI-I to VGA, DVD-D to VGA, and a mix of the 2, but I could not get it to work.
Other Thoughts: From my research on DVI and from the other reviews, I think the issue with this adapter is that DVI connections are more complicated than people think. I think it has to do with the difference between DVI-I and DVI-D.
Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer, Thank you very much for purchasing this unit. We strive to provide the most reliable and highest quality products to our customers.
This adapter is available to use for the following configuration. Connect a new DVI-I monitor to an old VGA graphics card.
1. You would use a male to female VGA cable such as RCW-800 2. Connect one end to your VGA card 3. Connect the other end to the RCW-701. 4. Take DVI-I cable and connect one end to the adapter 5. The other end to the monitor 6. Your New DVI-I monitor would be able to connect to the old VGA graphics card.
This is a simple solution for older generation systems and does not apply to newer systems
