It only works some of the times and their driver installation is NOT easy.
Cons: For such an expensive adapter it should have installed easy in Win7. I could it working with the install CD. Tech support told me to download new driver application. Worked after many attempts then stopped working. Notified Tech Support again and they told me to update my Win7. Why should it stop working? I upgraded Win7 and still cannot get it to work. Win7 Device Manager shows their adapter but get an error code saying it was NOT configured properly and I should update the driver. I cannot find their driver to update? Their Trigger driver application installs the driver automatically and does NOT let you know where they HIDE it at? I am still working with their Tech Support department via Email and it is FRUSTRATING. I am looking at the Pluggable product now and going to GIVE UP on StarTech.
Other Thoughts: I am looking at other adapters for my All in One.

Cons: Does not work. Tried on two separate high end TVs and tried multiple HDMI cables. Shows image for 1 to 2 secs then experiences static then no screen image.
RMA process involves returning the item at $10.00 for UPS shipping... This product is an easy way for seller to make money knowing that you will not spend more money to ship it back... Will involve credit card company to refund money.

Other Thoughts: I needed to expand my workspace with more monitors, but my 2012 Macbook Pro 15" just wasn't equipped to go beyond 1 external monitor, natively.
I looked around on occasion for a solution, but recently became more focused and came across the Sabrent, Diamond, and Matrox solutions. The Sabrent seemed to have the more confident reviewers, so I went with it and couldn't be happier. Took me less than 10 minutes to get it all set up, including new drivers and a re-boot. Works like a charm. The issue of jerky fast motion is slightly evident, but it played YouTube content without problem.

Pros: Windows 7 computer installed and worked perfectly right out of the box without even using CD, one old very basic machine with XP and one newer advanced XP computer works perfect with installed CD and updated drivers
Cons: Used the CD drivers to get started on the XP machines to make sure everything went well, but that extra few minutes can hardly be seen as a con
Other Thoughts: Added multiple monitors to basic computers that had only one VGA plug, no need for fancy video cards or additional anything, love them

Pros: Works great. I can watch full 1080p content. If there is any lag, I sure can't tell.
You can run two monitors in duplicate or extended modes.
Cons: You can only connect a DVI cable. Does not come with HDMI adapter, you have to buy it separately if you want to connect an HDMI cable. Search newegg for "DVI male to HDMI female adapter", they're like 2-5 bucks. Then, you can connect an HDMI cable to this unit. Also, the unit does not forward sound to your monitor, only video.
Other Thoughts: This is not a video card and does not function like one. All this does is emulate a second monitor by taking the compressed video that the software sends over USB and decompresses it. So if your PC/Laptop is slow to begin with, this will not help. The software uses CPU and your primary graphics card for the image compression workload, so the better your PC, the better this will work.

Pros: Installs easily enough, especially in Windows 7. Works well and quickly as long as you aren't trying to use it for high graphic programs. Easy to uninstall when needed.
Cons: It does freeze up my computer occasionally, but only whenever I'm running high graphic programs (although the programs were not on the monitor that was attached to this device).
Other Thoughts: Certain games (DDO specifically) won't open while this software and drivers to run this device are installed, although whether to hold that against this device or the programs themselves is up for debate.

Pros: This has worked pretty much flawlessly since I purchased it a little over 2 months ago. For the price I couldn't have done better. I use it from a laptop to display on a 42" HD screen and the picture is great. Other than me using a USB 2.0 port rather than a USB 3.0 port (which is recommended) it still works great. this isn't something I simply use every once in a while, I use this non-stop from dusk till dawn and I have not had any problems.
Cons: the only con was the initial installation process. I work in the IT field and have extensive knowledge on electronics as well as PC's (hardware and software) and it still took me 2-3 hours from taking it out of the box to having a picture displayed on my flat screen. if I didn't have my technical know-how this would have been a nightmare for me to set up.
Other Thoughts: I didn't think this product would last me this long seeing how long I would be using it for but it has worked through and through with flying colors. Awesome product for an awesome price! you cant beat this! it even got shipped faster than expected. I believe I received it in 2 days.
