Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Experiment with it.
Pros: Very good at printing graphics on discs.
Cons: Printing a black graphic on the discs tends to saturate the disc leaving small puddles of ink on the disc that do not dry. You have to experiment with the ink settings on your type of disc so black will print correctly.
I ruined about 6 discs until I got right. Oh well no biggie.
Other Thoughts: Wish the unit would come with a chart that will get you in the ballpark with disc sizes and the ink levels. Not all brands have the same size hub so you also have to play with size controls.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 GREAT PRODUCT!!!
Pros: This is a great product. I purchased it for a project I was working on that requires me to make copies of 240 CD's. I printed over 100 of those CD's in one sitting without having any malfunctions or problems with the unit itself. The Power Supply was not heated up at all with over 100 continuous print jobs. Great product.
Cons: The ink is quite expensive and lasted about 65 CD's. I think the printers with individual ink cartridges are less expensive, simply because you only purchase what color you need. With the tri-color cartridges, when you're out of one color, that's the end of it.
Other Thoughts: Overall, a great product. The quality of each print is great. I am impressed DYMO!

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 DiscPainter is Great Fun!
Pros: The Dymo DiscPainter is Great Fun!

Until now, Disc printers have been somewhat pricey, usually starting around $1,000 USD or so, which was kinda pricey for the average home user who wasn't going to be mass producing custom discs, the MSRP on the Dymo DiscPainter is $279.95 USD (that's the price from Dymo) -- much more affordable than it's predecessors!

It produces a nice print on the cover and takes about 60 seconds (60 secs for a full color, full print) even less for for less ink coverage.

If you're like me, and you like to label all your CDs & DVD's, this is a great toy! Prior to this, I tried to label them all with disc labels, and often times I got lazy--or didn't have time-- to do the labels the way I like them, so I pulled my trusty black Sharpie and wrote on the disc itself.
Cons: None!
Other Thoughts: Another great use is for you to give your clients a professional custom labeled disc -- Especially if you design any kind of art, websites, logos, etc. Giving your client your custom disc containing everything they have purchased from you. (Websites, Logos, Brochures, 3D Models... anything really!)

I have found this to be an invaluable tool for my business as well as fun to play with on a personal level!
Great value for the cost! I'd highly recommend it to all my friends here!

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 Junk
Pros: Compact Size
Cons: The printed image comes out very grainy and swirly (from the disc spinning while it prints). Very slow, although I wouldn't mind if the quality was better. Text comes out grainy and jittery looking. I called Dymo tech support and they wanted me to send it in for a firmware upgrade. According to the tech who spoke broken english I couldn't download the firmware, it had to be sent in. I told him forget it, I'm sending it back.

Stay away from this product.

Pros: Compact
Cons: Price is a bit high. Really slow, uses relatively more ink per disc than any other disc printer I have used. Only one cartridge for color and black.

Rating + 3Rating + 3Rating + 3Rating + 3Rating + 3 NO 64 BIT SUPPORT
Pros: Good results with Taiyo GLOSSY Discs. Software is adequate. Most affordable Disc Printer for now. Decent construction.
Cons: NO 64 BIT SUPPORT!!!!! And not planning to anytime soon from Tech support. Printer Cartridges are expensive.
Other Thoughts: I was amazed there was no plans to support 64 bit Vista. They say Vista support but fail to mention 64 bit is not included, a bit misleading. I'm running on an old laptop and it's slow. Be sure I check the requirements before you buy.

Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2 I want to punt this thing
Pros: Burns CDs relatively well. It doesn't explode and cover me in hot wax.
Cons: Printing mechanism will, 1/3rd of the time, not insert the disk correctly. When this happens the machine will do unpredictable things, which will astound and annoy you. You will try to correct this as best you can, sometimes the machine fights you, other times it cooperates. Because of the mind boggling unreliability of the printing tray, you will have to baby sit the machine as it prints. The idea of "set it and forget it" does not exist with this machine.
Other Thoughts: Buy a sharpie and some stencils. Seriously.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Satisfied
Pros: Works very well for me on Windows XP. No issues at all. Printing on Matt Inkjet DVD is satisfactory for pictures, and very good for text. I use Verbatim DVDs. If you want to print quality pictures you should probably use Glossy Inkjet DVDs. I do not understand why other people are having problems.
Cons: No power switch.
Other Thoughts: It works exactly as I expected it to work. I do recommend the product.

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 Horrid Device. Stay away
Pros: Looks nice.
Cons: -Doesn't print to Taiyo Yuden Inkjet Printable DVD's
-No power switch.
-Sloppy print job on high quality, text comes out choppy.
-Discus software looks like it should run on OSX 10.2
-NO LEOPARD SUPPORT OUT OF BOX. You get an error messabe saying the printer insn't installed. Nowhere does it tell you that you need to download the CD at their website.

-PROFESSIONALS STAY AWAY, it might reject your inkjet printable discs!
Other Thoughts: Just a bad device. I should have gotten a multifunction printer with a DVD tray, they are a fraction of the price with this.

Thank goodness for Newegg's excellent customer support. This piece of junk is RMA'D

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Recending My Vista Complaint
Pros: When using white background Taiyo Yuden CDR 80WPPSB-WS it prints perfect factory looking CD's. The default settings place a very dark and professional looking ink density. I am impressed by how cool the WaterSheild glossy finish is, and to the touch. Great combination.
Cons: None now. I still want more information on what CDs work well. My first attempt (and complaint here on NewEgg) was using the silver inkjet printables (also Taiyo Yuden) because I thought it would look more "mass produced like". Seems to me there is a problem in the software for that, but the white background ones are much more impressive. Its just too dim on the silver backgrounds (and the driver complains about the size mismatch then.)
Other Thoughts: I simply wanted a small unit to sit on the desk. It does so nicely, always on and ready for an occasional CD. The software that comes with the unit is fairly easy to use and takes about as long as the burn to drop and image and type in the CD title. Once the CD is burned, drop it in the unit and push print.
It does exactly what I wanted. Any person who distributes CD's should use this rather than stomping (on a low quantity basis, mind you 10 per week.)
