Polycom SoundStation2 Direct Connect for Nortel
Will not use again
- Pros: None
- Cons: Poor customer service.
Read their return policy VERY CAREFULLY.
- Other Thoughts: Ordered Polycom SoundStation2 Direct Connect for Nortel telephone system. Shipment arrived and went to install. Had problems installing so called Polycom technical support. After some time with Polycom, it was determined that the unit apparently was not compatible with a Nortel BCM400 system (which was not immediately apparent o the tech support representative). Requested RMA from Surviellant to return unit. After requesting RMA, received an email asking if the box had been opened. Replied that it had been. Was informed by second email that if I could make it look factory sealed as if it had never been opened, they would take it back, but otherwise, they would not. They stated in their email "It is advertised in our return policy on Newegg that the product must be in the condition of brand new and factory sealed to be allowed for return or it will be denied. We do state the manufacturer part number so the product can be researched by the customer to makes absolutely 110% sure it will work for the application." Responded back that a CD had been opened and there was no way I could make it "factory sealed" condition. In reply, stated I would not purchase from Surviellant again. Later in day, received telephone call from a manager about my email. Manager kept saying he wanted to be helpful, but would not offer to accept return. Less than satisfactory customer service in my opinion and I will never use Surviellant again. If you order from this company, BEWARE and DO NOT OPEN any package unless you are absolutely sure the item will work. In my case, there was no way to know since obviously the manufacturer even had difficulty determining it wouldn't work with our system.

Polycom Soundstation Duo 2200-19000-001 Dual Mode Analog / VoIP Conference Phone with 2 EX Mics
Doesn't work with DTMF conference calls over phone system
- Pros: Looks good
- Cons: We purchased two units but they do not work with our NEC phone system as the inband DTMF (after the call is active) doesn't get passed through our phone system. We can't key in the conference ID number. Based on web research, we believe the problem is a packet size setting that needs to be changed. No manual came with units. We have called Polycom and they say they can't help us as we did not buy from an authorized reseller. We have called iSave (NewEgg partner who shipped product); they say contact Polycom who doesn't recognize iSave. Trying to solve the problem...

Can't tell what connector it has...
- Pros: None yet, I haven't purchased it.
- Cons: None yet, I haven't purchased it.
- Other Thoughts: Can't tell what connector it has. You say "wired" but then skip over the connector type. Is it a phono (3.5mm or 2.5mm) connector, Or is it an RJ-45 connector like on a telephone handset? Need to know so I can tell if this will work with a cell phone or if I need a desk phone.

Polycom SoundStation 2 EX 2200-16200-001 Corded Conference Phone with EX Microphones 2200-16155-001
Solid Phone
- Pros: Has great sound volume and looks very attractive on our conference room table. The room is 15x20 with a 15 foot ceiling. We can have 10-15 people in the room and everyone is as audible as if they were each holding a handset. Normal voice is clear no matter where the person is standing in the room.
- Cons: Doesn't take care of the room echo as much as I thought it would, but our room isn't the best anyway. I wouldn't say this is a con necessarily, but it isn't a pro. It still is leaps and bounds above the NEC Dterm 80 we were using in there to begin with.

MOH Message On Hold MP3 Music Player for Business/Office phone systems (includes 1 free custom greeting/advertisement)
Easy!
- Pros: We purchased this unit and had it up and running within minutes. It really adds an element of professionalism to our business.
- Cons: No cons, it does what it is supposed to and is easier than any other message on hold device we've used. You do need to have a phone system. It's not designed to work with consumer house phones.
- Other Thoughts: The website made it really easy to get up and running. It saved me a lot of time and headache that I would have had to deal with if going with one of the other message on hold solutions.

Discontinued Product
- Pros: Not a bad IP Phone for the money
- Cons: "The SoundPoint IP 301 has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. Support for the product will be available until 03/31/2013. The SoundPoint 301 has been replaced by the SoundPoint IP 320/330."

- Other Thoughts: I would not have bought the phone had I known it it is discontinued. One star for not mentioning that Newegg.

Skype Lifesaver!
- Pros: Great sound quality, both as a microphone and as a speaker.
Full-duplex means better conversations.
With this device I and my business partner can stay connected all day while we both pace around our offices and discuss things. Its really a freeing thing to be able to walk far away from my computer and continue the conversation.
Highly recommended if you are a regular Skype user.
It should work with any apps though, it presents as a generic microphone and speaker but its anything but generic! - Cons: None really, its awesome.
