Pros: Excellent product and print quality and software. I just wish it would have come with a few various rolls to get you started. a little cheap in that respect considering proprietary labels I understand. Anyway.
Cons: Would be nice to have more than just a minimal "starter" roll

Pros: GREAT POTENTIAL.. WITH NEW TAPES .. only accepts new 'tze' tapes... not the older tz tapes.
Cons: NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OLDER TZ TAPES.. i find it hard to believe that brother would design a not compatible printer when there must be a zillion of older tz series cassettes out there and folks would not be thrilled at throwing lot$ of them out and buying lot$ of new ones for this machine!!!
Other Thoughts: would recommend with new tapes. used the TZ series with the older pt-2600 for years... what a great system. however the pt-2600 will not run under win10 of course [waiting for driver that works]. however, if you are just starting out, this should be a real winner. i was very satisfied with my pt-2600, and luckily found a new one online.. waiting for drivers...and may use on my xp machine until brother gets it together.

Pros: -Easy to use User interface -6 available tape widths -5 types of label tape -Standard Laminated, Flexible ID, Extra Strength Adhesive, Non-Laminated Iron-on Fabric, Acid Free -Many extra features when plugged in to PC via USB -Battery backup lasts a long time.
Cons: -It wastes nearly an inch of label stock for a single copy print. e.g. The built in auto cutter trims off 24mm (15/16") of blank before it prints. If you print multiple copies, it only trims the one time at the beginning and then is continuous for how many copies you chose. -6AA batteries necessary to keep jobs stored in memory. As stated in pros, the original batteries are still going strong for me after 3 months and I don't always use the AC cord.

Pros: Makes labels, Lots of options for label style. color, and durability
Cons: *Wastes an inch or tape per label. But this is true of all TZ tape labels. *Eats batteries. It takes six AAA batteries. Sitting on a shelf powered off, it consumes them in a month. It turns on, lets you enter the label information, then when you press print, it prints half of the first letter and quits, the display reports "Dead Batt" I only make labels about once a month, and I have to go get SIX AAA's each time I want to make labels. I always turn it off, and I have confirmed that if you leave it on, it shuts off automatically, But still it requires batteries each time I want to make a label. The cut options to try to save label tape between labels doesn't work. If you want neat labels, bring your scissors and hand cut the leading inch off of EACH label.
Other Thoughts: I love the P-touch line of labelers from Brother, and the TZ tape line looks nice at first till you realize how much label tape you throw away. I would stay away from any TZ labeler. The only reason mine isn't in the trash is because I bought 5 different sizes/colors of label tape, and I wan't to use them up before I throw it away. I just store the batteries out of the unit and it seems to work fine, but becomes more of a hassle to use.
