It works fine.
- Pros: Its a simple card reader. Using it for a hotel to swipe CCs. Works as intended, no problems with install. USB plug in, detected and done. Nothing needed configured or setup.
- Cons: It has a fairly loud beep.
- Other Thoughts: None.

ID TECH ID-80110001-001 Magnetic Card Reader for Mobile Devices
Consumer version - No SDK
- Pros: Solid device, worked with my test applications and the UniMag utilities available in the Google Market. Swipes registered when expected, and no errors that I can tell so far.
- Cons: This is the consumer version, so no SDK is available in the package. To get the SDK you need to buy the developer evaluation version for ~$150 or so. There are other means by which a person could reverse engineer the SDK.

Works great
- Pros: Correctly shows up in Windows 7/XP as USB interface device, no custom drivers necessary. Price was much cheaper than when I last bought some of these, a few years back.
- Cons: Cannot scan a grilled cheese sandwich.
- Other Thoughts: Assuming you know what you are doing with these and have a specific application use in mind. Testing these is easy, just start Notepad and swipe a card. You should get the details from the magnetic stripe in Notepad. They work like keyboard devices basically.
