Great Product
- Pros: Great little fryer. For 1-2 people, it is as advertised. The first one I owned, and happy. Cooked chicken wing drumettes, and took only 9 minutes. Juicy tender. Has magnetic power cord for safety, as I had to figure that out on my own. I recommend this fryer.
- Cons: If it had a drain for the oil, it would have got 5 eggs. but easy to pour out.
- Other Thoughts: Quality built. The lid is nice, as the small fry daddy cookers dont come with one, except to store oil after its cooled. Nice basket. It is small, but for someone who lives in an apartment...its great! For college kids too!!

Good Small Fryer
- Pros: Small size for single meals
Safety magnetic plug Light weight uses only 4 cups oil - Cons: The fit and finish isn't there, but it gets hot fast and cooks which is all its supposed to do. The control knob has a flimsy feel.
Clean up could be better, can't immerse whole unit.
- Other Thoughts: Good for college dorms or singles

Great Small fryer
- Pros: Fast Heat-up time , Very Fast
Closeable lid Easy to clean - Cons: Temperature setting control very flimsy
Lid release lever doesn't always open the lid.
- Other Thoughts: We were looking for something that would be sufficient to cook small portions of food for 3 people at a time at the most. Luckily this unit seems to work perfectly for just that. The oil heats up very quickly and holds temperature very well.
Something that put me off though was the max/min fill lines. The unit has a relatively shallow cooking basket and with the oil at the max fill line, there seems to be a very shallow amount of actual cooking area available for food. I realize that they put the lines there as a safety to reduce the risk of the oil boiling over the top due to frozen/wet foods but, after some testing with some frozen fries and other food, it seems having the oil a little over the max line is really no issue. After you use it for a while, you'll likely find a level to fill it too that will work best for you.
The temperature selection is on a rather flimsy slider on the front. It works fine but it just has this feeling like it could break easily.

Great Fryer
- Pros: Works GREAT, Clean up was easy. It depends on the oil used.
I used Crisco oil. - Cons: wish it had a filtering system for the oil.
I just yous a coffee filter, to run the oil through after it cools down.

Great fryer.
- Pros: This fryer is absolutely amazing. Very spacious (at least for my needs), heats up quickly, temps are accurate and remain stable for the duration of cooking. Even when you're done cooking this appliance continues to impress. Almost everything can be taken off of the main chassis and cleaned separately or in the dish washer. With the turn of a switch the oil automatically filters and drains (after it has cooled down to an acceptable temperature) into a tub below the fryer for further use or disposal.
- Cons: The metal piece at the top of the basket that helps hold the handle came bent angled upwards but was easily bent back to the right place.
- Other Thoughts: For the reviewers who claim that it leaks oil all over the floor... The fryer has a "MAX" oil level line indicated inside. It is a bit hard to see since it is only indented in the reservoir and not outlined at all. The oil tub was designed to only hold the MAX indicated in the reservoir. Just because the reservoir may hold a few gallons more than the max line suggests doesn't mean the oil tub will too. Use your head and follow the instructions.

PRESTO 05466 Stainless Steel Dual Basket ProFry immersion element deep fryer

Seems to work okay.
- Pros: Works well, if not over loaded, and the owners manual warns of this. With two baskets you can fry chicken and French fries at the same time. Optional single basket can be purchased which will allow more of one item to be fried. All parts fit folded inside unit for storage. Magnetic power cord attachment a nice safety feature. Heater/control unit and pot can be removed for cleaning. Cooking pot holds over 1 gal oil when at full level.
- Cons: Stainless base unit and enamelled cook pot have sharp edges...take care when cleaning.
Heater and temp sensor unit are well assembled with lots of clamps and such, and can be fun cleaning.
While unit comes with a cover, it is probably never used as most foods will emit water vapour and the owners manual warns not to use cover when frying high moisture content foods...which is most everything.
As mentioned, cook pot, when filled with oil, has more than a gallon of oil. You must let oil cool and siphon oil from pot prior to removal, as weight otherwise makes it nearly impossible to remove pot for cleaning, and as stated, watch sharp edges.
Also, I feel that the 1800 watt unit struggles to bring over 1 gal oil up to temperature and maintain it when "cold or room temp" foods are added. Follow manual and do not over load with foods.
- Other Thoughts: I received this as a gift. It works, does what it is advertised to do, but I am not sure I would buy one to replace a cast iron pot on a stove burner.
I can see where you may want the optional single basket for single food frying as two baskets waste precious frying area when frying single foods.
You would probably not want to try to fry foods to feed more than 3-4 people with this, otherwise you would be eating in shifts.
