I bought it to use as an accent in my living, not for its heater function
imitation fire looks cool, kitschy 80's vibe, not horrendus, not superb - Cons: toxic plastic smell like new chinese made products

- Pros: Looks nice from a distance!
- Cons: I have two of these. I bought them at the same time from newegg. Legs are plastic and not very supportive. Remote does not work well unless you are right in front of the fireplace. Blower motor is loud and this unit does not generate much heat. Do not buy there are many more products on the market.

- Cons: 12 x 22 room in a house that is well insulated it takes 4 hours to get it 5 degrees warmer than at start

- Pros: You can use the remote as shown in the video...just a few inches from the heater!
- Cons: People...a 1500 watt heater is a 1500 watt heater. There is not wattage difference between this and one costing $20. Do your homework and save your money. All 1500 watt heating devices, producing 1500 watts, will provide the same amount of heat. Don't believe me, look it up. Save your cash for a new video card.

Well Worth it
- Pros: Compact in size. Pleasant to look at. Reasonable operational noise level.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Infrared Portable Space Heaters are easier on the electric usage than standard electric heaters. Last year when fuel oil reached $4.25 per gallon is was $1000 to fill the tank at the beginning of winter. At that rate it would have cost me over $3000 to heat my house for the winter. I purchased 3 Infrared Portable Space Heaters, (various makes). At the end of winter I used less than half of the oil in the tank. With paying for the Infrared Portable Space Heaters and the increased electric bill about $1000 stayed in my pocket rather than the utilities. I will be putting in a propane system in the spring. Propane is less than half the cost of fuel oil, but these units are save my backside. I added this one to increase the temp in the living room. The units I have will be used to heat the second floor of the house when it is being used.

- Pros: Works as advertised. Can be rewired (instructions included) to downgrade output and electric draw -- requires a 30 amp circuit as shipped. Quieter than I expected. USA made. Compact and well finished.

- Pros: Does work as advertised and heats up our family room in about an hour.
- Cons: This thing does NOT have a dual power setting as claimed by Lifesmart and others, switching at 77 degrees. I checked with a wattmeter and the power reading was a pretty constant 1385 watts, no matter what the temp setting.
