Acer H5370BD 1280 x 720 DLP 3D Projector 2,500 ANSI Lumens (Standard), 2,000 ANSI Lumens (ECO)

Awesome Picture!
- Pros: Great projector for 720p. We have a 120 inch screen, and the movies look awesome. Haven't tried 3D yet. Colors look real when the BrilliantColor is Off from the advance menu.
Highly recommend it for budget home theater experience. - Cons: None Yet.

BenQ W1070 2000 lumens 1080P Full HD 3D Home Theater DPL Projector 2 x HDMI

Amazing projector!
- Pros: I have this projector along with a 100" Elite Screens Sable fixed frame in cinewhite with 1.1 gain paired with Samsung's new BD F-7500 Blu Ray player, and the picture out of the box is outstanding! I have yet to watch and 3D content, but so far the 2D makes me happy I picked this projector over some of the other models I was thinking about buying. My room does have some ambient light during the day but this one has plenty of lumens to still project an excellent image. There is a bit of fan noise but I can only hear it during quite parts of the movie. No rainbow effects (Something I was worried about getting a DLP projector) Im finding it hard to even want to use my 55" TV anymore. If you are thinking about buying a BenQ W1070 I really recommend it.
- Cons: None, except no glasses are included. But at this price point I guess that is to be expected.

- Pros: Was a beautiful picture until the pixels started turning black & white.
- Cons: Pixel failure due to a bad DMD chip, I understand. Optoma does not answer their email requests for help. Used very little over the 2 years I have had it. Very disappointing product.

Pretty darn good for what it is
- Pros: Super long-lived, tiny, almost-silent LED projectors are a fairly new niche, and while they don't get a lot of attention due to being thought of as low-end products, it's hard to say no to <60w 720p for less than $500. On a purely technical level, this is very, very impressive, and when my old PJ-TX1000 (2004 MSRP: $3000) died and I decided I still didn't need any more than 720p, I was glad that this new tech had matured enough for me to justify a somewhat horizontal upgrade. Has a coax jack, speakers, and a sleep timer -- very TV-like. Refresh rate is really, really good.
- Cons: Fixed zoom (if this is an issue for you I'd recommend getting a ceiling mount, they're very cheap and will likely solve any positioning problems). Colours aren't as deep as I'd gotten used to, and I wasn't crazy about the display presets, but it's plenty tweakable.
- Other Thoughts: Smaller and better than you think. Nicer display quality can be had, but not for less than 3x the price (and a tenth of the lifespan).

First projector
- Pros: - Bright LED
- Large throw for short distance - Cons: Speakers are kind of quiet
- Other Thoughts: If you have a quiet room or at least a semi quiet room with no open windows/lawn mowers, you'll be able to hear through the projectors speakers. I have mine hooked up to some cheap computer speakers/bass and it's what I expected.

Great for the $$$, obviously not the best
- Pros: This is my first projector I've actually owned and it rocks. With a little tweaking, you can achieve great quality out of it.
- Cons: At this price points, you're bound to have some cons. For instance, this projector is very sensitive to the circuit that it's on. I have a mini-fridge and whenever it's on, I get horizontal lines across the screen more than usual. Yes, this does mean I get occasional lines across the screen on a daily basis, but it's not something that will interrupt your viewing experience (that much).
Picture wise, the projector sucks at producing blacks. Then again, I'm spoiled by the premium LED panels around the house.
- Other Thoughts: All in all, it's a great projector that I use very rarely (around 1-hour per/week) to watch a show or two.

I like it
- Pros: Great picture, especially with HD channels/content, and anything from my standalone bluray player.
I always thought 3d was a gimmick and I still think it is. The family likes it though. 3d from my htpc is bad, but from standalone bluray player it's excellent.
It has a 120hz mode in 720p. Tried it with pc and gaming, pretty nice. - Cons: Newegg extended warranty is worthless. I bought it because the bulb is expensive. Finally need a new bulb and apparently the warranty Newegg sells does not cover the bulb. Why else would I buy the extended warranty?
Nice racket, I wish I could sell extended warranties for projectors. How many people assumed it was a good idea because of the 200 dollar bulb?
First one crapped out within a month, luckily within Newegg replacement terms. The replacement has been working like a champ ever since.
- Other Thoughts: It's the only projector I've ever used. Also, the first time I've had a such a large display.
I have a cheap 135" screen
Used daily, sometimes rather heavily.
The bulb still hasn't actually died, but the projector now warns on startup that the bulb has exceeded it's lifetime.
My standalone bluray player has a much better image than my htpc. I don't understand why. Even 3d is a lot better with that thing.
3d sucks with my PC. I tried hard to figure it out. Games, movies, different 3d software and media players, made no difference. I cannot get 3d to look anywhere near as good as it does on my standalone bluray player. 2d contend is perfectly OK, but even that looks better on the bluray player. I guess it does some fancy upscaling that my PC somehow can't come close to doing.
I might never buy a projector again. Even though it is used very frequently and is cool, the bulb is way too expensive to keep replacing. Heck, I even wonder if I'll be able to find a replacement one day.

oh ya
- Pros: Any one looking for a great home theater projector of family room projector, you should consider this one, I replaced my older sanyo (720P) that I have had for over 8 years. I have a dedicated darkened home theater with a 10 ft wide screen. Needless to say I spent well over twice as much on my old one as for this BenQ. you can do your research (projector central etc.) you won't be disappointed. lots of light output in any mode, crystal clear image, and the 3D (in a darkened inviroment) will not disappoint at all. it is in everyway a great projector. i got it on sale, plus 100 off promo code and free shipping, doesn't get any better than that.
- Cons: Doesn't come with 3D glasses. lots of discussions on the forums, i went with glasses from a company i apparently cant say, they work great.
- Other Thoughts: Rainbow effect, I was alittle worried about that but I am not affected. this is a DLP. no one who i have shown this to is affected, so Benq must have the speed of the wheel fast enough.

well worth it
- Pros: great price, color, sharpness. did a lot of research before I purchased. been using it for 2 years now and has been great. its in a basement with good lighting for a projector but I couldn't be happier with it.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: could have spent twice as much for a better name brand version of the same thing. happy with this one.
