not perfect but not broken
- Pros: Its not broken, and not missing pieces
- Cons: box was really beat up, and all the parts indside were very dirty, almost like this was a returned item that got resold. I probably wont take the chance to order from this seller again.
- Other Thoughts: you live and you learn, and alot of these newegg marketplace sellers are a little untrustworthy IMO

Thule 501 Insta-Gater Pick Up Truck Rack
This is cool!
- Pros: Easy to setup, holds bike securely, works with any truck bed and all but the biggest of bikes. It's nice and light so it's easy to both install and remove, so I can drive to a bike path, put the rack in the cab so it's locked up while I'm riding and then reinstall it for the drive home. It also feels very well built. Perfect!
No problems with my mountain bike in a 2001 Dodge Dakota. - Cons: Holds the bike securely, but doesn't lock it. There's a security lock option, but if your truck's tailgate doesn't lock (mine doesn't) it's not really locked. Even if the rack was locked to the truck the bike wouldn't be locked, since most bikes (like mine) have an easily detachable front wheel. A long cable lock securing the bike to the truck's tie-downs would fix this.
- Other Thoughts: It's simple, elegant and holds the bike securely. Had the truck up to 60 MPH with no problems; freeway speeds and bumpy back roads are fine. If you have other accessories on your bike that are removable (I have a cell phone holder), make sure you remove them so you don't lose them.
