Categories > Flatbed Scanners > Canon USA > Canon CanoScan LiDE110 2400 x 4800dpi 48bit USB Interface Flatbed Scanner

Rating + 3Rating + 3Rating + 3Rating + 3Rating + 3 Good once set up
Pros: You get what you pay for a cheap product that works.
Cons: The software is kind of redundant and confusing. The scanner is on the loud side and the drivers have had issues installing.

Categories > Flatbed Scanners > Canon USA > Canon CanoScan LiDE110 2400 x 4800dpi 48bit USB Interface Flatbed Scanner

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Adequate For My Needs
Pros: Cheap, easy installation, does what it is supposed to do.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Linux doesn't recognize the scanner in my fancy all-in-one printer so I bought this. It works well with Linux Mint 16 and Simple Scan. After much experimentation, including placing a phone book on the lid, I am getting decent results from this. From other reviews, these don't seem to be known for their durability but I only paid $49 for mine. If it breaks I can buy a new one. I don't scan often but when you need it this one works.

Categories > Flatbed Scanners > Epson America > EPSON Perfection Series V37 4800 dpi with EPSON MatrixCCD 48bit USB Interface Flatbed Scanner

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Decent Little Scanner
Pros: Small Footprint
USB
Long Power Cord
Software Supports most OS's
Cons: Almost too light - slides easily
Scan Quality is Good - not Great (but at this price thats ok)
Other Thoughts: Scanner works like a charm - included software is pretty basic.
You will need to find other software for anything other than basic scanning
NewEgg shipping in original cartons is not ideal - the scanner arrived in the original box via UPS with 3 large holes/rips in the box. No damage - amazingly - to the scanner inside but this has been an issue in the past with other NewEgg purchases.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Great High Performance Scanner
Pros: I have two of these scanners, one plain flatbed and one with the optional TMA unit for scanning transparent media. If you are really into scanning it does a beautiful job. I have had no trouble with either of the units in the maybe seven or eight years I have owned them. I do as a matter of habit turn them off when they are not in use. I consider them Professional / Office grade scanners and they are very good at doing tabloid size scans.
Cons: The software that is shipped with the 9800xl is feature packed but could be a bit more polished, however, this is not a kiddie scanner.
Other Thoughts: I've had great results and I'd buy another one if needed.

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Perfection?
Pros: Used for scanning photos and documents, does a five star job.
Cons: Power switch is a pain to reach and find, located on lower left side at the back. Minus one star.
Other Thoughts: Easy interface, simple control. But perfect? Only if it lasts forever.

Categories > Flatbed Scanners > Canon USA > Canon CanoScan LiDE110 2400 x 4800dpi 48bit USB Interface Flatbed Scanner

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Works great once configured. Lightweight lid.
Pros: Takes good scans, even for photos and artwork. Reasonable speed. Great quality for the money.
Cons: Lid doesn't want to close all the way. It's very light, and does not apply any pressure to the object being scanned, so it sometimes makes gradients if you don't do something about it. Mine is weiged down by a bible. First time I've found one of those useful.
Other Thoughts: If using Linux, you'll have to play with the brightness and contrast in something other than Simple Scan (SS won't change those settings). Scans will come out muddy and dark. Use xsane or something more powerful like that to compensate for this. Just save your settings for that device and you're done. I guess it's not really that different in work required than dodging Windows junk software in the install. Pick your poison.

Categories > Flatbed Scanners > Canon USA > Canon CanoScan LiDE110 2400 x 4800dpi 48bit USB Interface Flatbed Scanner

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Simple, small, USB powered
Pros: You can't beat it for the money. No power brick, compact and works great. So much better than the ancient yellowing one it replaced. Windows 7 (I still don't like windows 8!) picked it up right away and installed drivers and Photoshop saw it right away as well.
Cons: At this price, none!
Other Thoughts: It's worth the money. If you need a scanner and don't want to spend a lot, this is the one, it works great. It's purely usb powered, no big power brick. LED tech, I'm impressed.

Categories > Flatbed Scanners > Canon USA > Canon CanoScan LiDE110 2400 x 4800dpi 48bit USB Interface Flatbed Scanner

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 GREAT BUY!
Pros: Really easy to use right out of the box and nice features that are a real bargain at his price. It does a nice job scanning and its easy to save to pdf or to email a scan. USB powered, so one less power cable behind the desk!
Cons: Probably not the very best quality scan, but certainly good enough for everyday office documents and email use.
Other Thoughts: Loghtning fast delivery by Newegg much appreciated!
