don't bother
- Pros: The price was right. Some times sorta works.
- Cons: Half the time the dashboard will come up then freeze. Some of the time it will get half way through with it's assigned task and then it'll freeze. Every once in a while when I open the program and try to do something it'll lock up and I'll have to reboot. The registration is the most convoluted mess I have ever seen with any software. I received it in a plain manila envelope, not even bubble wrap or anything. The box was completely crushed and I figured the disc would be broken. Newegg is back to their old habit of don't give a darn about the condition the product arrives at the purchaser in.
- Other Thoughts: The one time I don't bother to read the reviews I get messed over by junk software. Oh well, that's my own fault I guess. I'm more upset about the lack of concern about the shipping quality than I am about the fact that this software is total junk.

Just what is needed.
- Pros: Installed Acronis 2013 and the Plus Pack off the same disk. (Though I don't plan on using the Plus Pack, but installed just in case my customer wanted it)
Configured a differential disk backup to an external drive daily at 11PM, 7 versions to be created, and let it run. Customer is happy that a backup of all his transactions will be made every day. - Cons: Plus Pack was a separate install, and program. I didn't use it but it looks like you have to run it separately and it doesn't integrate with Acronis? Again I didn't play around with it.
- Other Thoughts: Both Acronis 2013 and the Plus Pack are included on the same DVD. Both serial numbers are on the envelope. Not sure why people are saying that they aren't together in this product. Why can't they read the description?

LOOK OUT!
- Pros: Works only OK, but no better than previous version. It probably still saves me some time over typing.
- Cons: Accuracy 80% at most after 3 months. New problem is that when I say "strike that" it always goes 4 characters prior to selected text. Support is a forum. Problems are many and inconsistent and seem to vary greatly from user to user. Rebate is baloney, so LOOK OUT if you think you'll get one. Three months and nothing at all..

Cool Utilities Work Fine in Win8
- Pros: Seems to work very well, tried on win7 and win8. Both did fine. Had an inexpensive new laptop with all kinds of crud ware on it (Acer, were talking about you), and the utilities did a nice job of disabling the stuff I could not uninstall. Turned a sluggish NEW machine into a very usable one. Quite happy.
- Cons: Has a one check button, that includes a check of the disk fragmentation - that particular check takes forever. Think they should make that optional on the one click check up button.
- Other Thoughts: Shop around and get it cheap. I know you can find it for under $20, and it's well worth that price.

Best of the best
- Pros: Since installing System Mechanic and setting up the auto maintenance routines on my Win 7 and Win 8 systems, they no longer crash. My pc runs 24/7 without problems. Keeps my pc clutter free. Awesome product!

Excellent backup solution
- Pros: set and forget
compression works well for system and program files
can run in background without noticing - Cons: advanced settings can be confusing as times with different backup schemes.
No way to make save files of backup schedules and settings.
- Other Thoughts: Works very well, does exactly what its supposed to do.

Nice software but old and with some glitches
- Pros: Works for making backups of a single computer. I have it making backups to a networked NAS device and it does that just fine. Compresses and encrypts (password protected) the data.
- Cons: I've had to re-install the software a few times because it somehow loses a driver or something, making it unable to browse through the backup volumes. Reinstalling it makes it work.
The drive clone feature is clunky.
The rescue discs are old and missing many drivers needed for newer computers.
"Automatic" backup management based on storage space limits doesn't seem to work all the time so I have to manually manage the backups sometimes.
- Other Thoughts: It works so I keep using it, but it's not the easiest to use.
