Categories > Card Readers > Koutech > Koutech IO-RCM630 Multi-in-1 USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Front Panel Internal Card Reader with USB 3.0 Port (3.5")

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Works for me.
Pros: I only use the SD card slot. Transfers my 64Gb card data just fine. Just ,nef files off my Nikon DSLR.
Cons: SD card slot a little sloppy. Has to be put in very specifically or it binds.
Other Thoughts: Not used any of the other card slots. Front USB port seems to work fine. Not sure where the others complaints are coming from.

Categories > Card Readers > Koutech > Koutech IO-RCM632 USB 3.0 Multi-in-1 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Front Panel Internal Card Reader with USB 3.0 Port (3.5")

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Does the Job
Pros: Multi-format reader in the face of my desktop, so there's no need for obtrusive or unattractive cables sticking out the front. Connection (internal usb) was a breeze. USB 3.0. :-)
Cons: Not every case/motherboard has the requisite internal connectors available, but that's a symptom of a cheap m/b, not the reader.
Other Thoughts: I've had this thing up and running for 3+ months. I think I used it once just to make sure it works. It's a wonderful security blanket though. I have a slew of SD, SDHC, MicroSD, Duo, etc. electronic devices. So knowing I have the capability of a removable media interface for all of them let's me sleep better at night. For that, the $30 is worth it.

Categories > Card Readers > Transcend > Transcend TS-RDP5K USB 2.0 Card Reader

Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4Rating + 4 Changes for the worse
Pros: Does it's job in handling memory cards and chips very well. Good clean, fast action.Clean lines and narrow enough to be used in cramped connection locations.

Fast delivery.
Cons: I ordered this because the old red line is no longer available. There appears to be absolutely nothing missing in performance between this green line reader and the red line except.....the design has been messed up for fast, handy usage in putting the cap on. The older red line readers were built so that the cap went on in any direction and this new one has changed to where the cap will only go on in one direction. Brings up extra fumbling when putting the cap on which makes absolutely NO sense at all.

Categories > Card Readers > Syba > SYBA CL-CRD20128 All-in-one USB 3.0 SDHC, CF, MS Memory Card Reader, Reads Micro SD, T-Flash and M2 without Adapter, Black Card Reader

Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1Rating + 1 Not USB 3 compatible
Pros: Nice physical design, no excess cable
Cons: I got one of these over a month ago and it would not work properly with my USB 3 ports. Very slow transfers. It was a lot faster on USB 2. I used SYBA's easy RMA service and they sent me another one. This one seems to have the same problem. It is actually faster on USB 2 and it runs slower with cards that are rated for faster speeds. This was not an expensive item, so I'm just going to throw it away this time. I bought a Kingston card reader from Newegg a couple of weeks ago and it is working fine.
Other Thoughts: I only use Compact Flash cards, so my problem may not apply to people using other types of flash memory cards. I'm running Windows 7 -64 on a Gigabyte Z68 class motherboard.

Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5Rating + 5 Works fine
Pros: Got this to replace a USB 3 Syba unit that was not compatible with USB 3 ports. The Kingston product is well made, transfers files fast over USB 3 and sits nicely on top of my tower.
Cons: None

Categories > Card Readers > TOPRAM > TOPRAM RV32 USB 3.0 Dual Slot Card Reader Support 4GB 8GB 16GB 32GB 64GB 128GB SD SDHC SDXC microSD microSDHC microSDXC

Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2 Would not recommend
Pros: It works, barely.
Cons: Transfer speeds are very slow, slower that our 3 other USB 2.0 card readers.

The plastic housing is very flimsy, the black dust cover pops off exposing the circuit board that is not physically supported or secured in the housing. This thing is going to fail after a few uses simply because it's physically not put together well.
Other Thoughts: Sadly, another fail. Avoid this one

Categories > Card Readers > AGPtek > USB 3.0 Hub 3.5" Front Panel 4 Ports & 6 Slot TF CF SD MS M2 XD Card Reader Port Perfect for PC Floppy Disk Position

Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2Rating + 2 USB 3.0? Not exactly.
Pros: Works well as:
USB 3.0 HUB
USB 2.0 Card Reader
Cons: Doesn't work well as:
USB 3.0 Card Reader
Other Thoughts: The product will indeed read your cards - but at 2.0 speeds, not like the 3.0 I was led to believe it was capable of. The 3.0 ports on the front seem to work okay, but it's just a hub. Says there is an LED indicator? There isn't one. Cables were also very short, couldn't even reach the back of my PC's case with the 3.0 cable and the USB 2.0 header cable is barely long enough to reach my motherboard. I am using a full tower case but the cables still seem to be needlessly short. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone! It's downright misleading and I'm sending it back asap in exchange for an external USB 3.0 card reader with decent feedback.
