MONITOR BELOW PAR
- Pros: Has cool features such as the monitoring. WIFI access works and the pan accessory is very nice. I has great picture and is easy to use. Most other features are the same as competitor models
- Cons: Technical support. The guy sounds like he is reading from a book and not familiar with product. The outdoor monitoring that needs a router is why I bought the product. I purchased a D-Link and also tried using my Verizon Mifi (the camera accepts it as access point for wifi). The camera will not link to web through the same access point. The tech said "it won't work with those routers." I asked which routers would it work with? He said he did not know. I asked if he EVER saw it work, he stated yes. I asked again about which router would work and he said JVC did not have a list. I mentioned this might be a good idea since I just spent around $700 on the product for the outdoor feature.
I asked if he could consult with a supervisor for a compatible router, then he got in a huff and went offline for a minute then came back and restated JVC had no clue what their product was compatible with... thanks JVC.
- Other Thoughts: I was really excited about this product. I am really disappointed JVC can not provide tech support to make their product work as advertised. Without the outdoor monitoring, it is just your garden variety camcorder for twice the price.

Good tape
- Pros: This is a dependable tape that has never given me any problems. From what I've learned, the only reason you might want to go with a more expensive tape is if you are going to be recording over and over on the same tape. I keep all my tapes as an archive and don't reuse them and I've never had any problems with Panasonic.
- Cons: none that I know of.
- Other Thoughts: I like to always use the same brand of tape because I've read that if you are constantly switching brands, your camcorder can have issues with gunk building up on the heads.

Do Their Job
- Pros: Min DVD-R that does what a DVD-R should. What more can you say??
- Cons: None...
- Other Thoughts: Using them in a Sony DCR-DVD850 no problems at all.

not that good
- Pros: Big sensor (this is very important)
- Cons: Do not check other people website video on night shots because you never will be able to do it like them unless you spend 15 minutes before each shoot adjusting the gain.

- Pros: I am still using these suckers. They were cheaper then in the stores.

had problems
- Pros: cheap
- Cons: had problems using it on a Canon GL-2, and on a Sony camcorder. It got stuck in the Sony. Both cameras kept saying "eject tape", and would not work in camera or vcr mode.

Ouch
- Pros: Great price. Fast shipping... Received in 3 days.
- Cons: No padding in the box. Media was left to bounce around inside, and for videotapes (moving parts) I think this is a very bad thing. Also, you can't use standard RMA to return it. You have to contact customer support via email to request a return for consumables. Lesson learned.
- Other Thoughts: I have ordered many many computer parts from NewEgg and have been very satisfied, just not this one time.

SONY DVM60PRL MiniDV Tape (5 packs)
Usual great quality from Sony
- Pros: I have used these tapes for over a year in my Sony HDR-HC1. My videography is purely hobby, so they don't see the abuse that they would in commercial use. But I have recorded over them several times and I haven't had any problems with quality or otherwise.
- Cons: None that I can think of.
