Acer H236HLbid Black 23" 5ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LED Backlit LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 250 cd/m2 ACM 100,000,000:1 (1000:1)

Acer IPS Monitor
- Pros: This Acer h236hl bid IPS monitor is amazing!
-It's an IPS display (picture quality and viewing angle is excellent) -Only costs $169.99 for a vivid and stunning 23" monitor -The stand is sturdy and high quality. (There is small paper clip-looking magnet on the base too) -Comes with 3 video output cables, so basically everything you need to hook the monitor up right away -Bezel is almost nonexistent, but there is still a slight bezel -Full HD and no annoying labels on monitor advertising its features - Cons: - HDMI cables do not work well with this monitor. I tested the monitor with two different HDMI cords and the monitor looked like it had small lines when white was shown on the screen. Weird. The picture on the screen was also not stretched to the edges. Maybe HDMI does that for every monitor, but I just switched it with a DVI cable and the screen stretched to its normal size and the lines disappeared.
- Other Thoughts: Besides the qualms with the light and the controls, this is an excellent monitor to purchase at a low price point. Do not pay $60 more for a monitor like the Asus MX293H because the Acer monitor competes with equal specs. Although the Acer monitor does not have sound, one can just buy a nice pair of dedicated speakers instead of buying the Asus monitor for better than average monitor speakers, which are still unimpressive. It is like a free $60 for this hint. You are welcome.

APEVIA ATX-CW500WP4 500W ATX Power Supply

Overrated Junk PSU
- Pros: NONE... Even "it was cheap" is not a pro because when it inevitable blows up and takes your computer components with it, you'll spend hundreds more replacing everything than if you'd spent an extra $20-30 on a good PSU in the first place.
- Cons: -Poor quality capacitors (a type of component inside it responsible for ensuring proper output voltage, etc)
-Noisy cheap fans -Flimsy ugly case -No APFC or PFC -Inefficient -Overrated, this is not more than a 200W power supply -Even the included power cable is a fire hazard -Even if this were free it would be a bad buy. Go for a quality power supply.
- Other Thoughts: Not enough cons? Well, see for yourself and remember this review when you lose your data, and your motherboard, cpu, ram, graphics card, etc. is fried when this blows up or even catches your house on fire. The scary part? I'm not even kidding, these things have happened to these cheap PSUs.

LINKSYS WRTP54G Wireless-G Broadband Router Powered by Vonage with 2 Phone Ports

Garbage
- Pros: Looks good
- Cons: Terrible VOIP quality
Runs hotter than the sun Always crashing
- Other Thoughts: I had this router for a few months, easily the worst router I've ever owned, replaced it with with a DIR-628 (with an external Vonage box) and now my home network runs super smooth.

ASRock FM2A85X-ITX FM2 AMD A85X (Hudson D4) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Loaded at 100% under UEFI BIOS ! WHY ASROCK ? WHY ?
- Pros: Nice look , many features and ports, CIR port that can give you the extra of powering ON and OFF you PC from cold.
- Cons: It loaded my HTPC configuration at 100% power and CPU consumption under BIOS. I almost got heart attack while updating the BIOS and saw the consumption on my energy meter. 98% of the PSU capacity was taken. I don't have any overheating issues under Windows OS, so please ... As I can see I'm not the only one with this issue so please explain why ? DO some testing and provide us fix. My other PC is also equipped with your brand MB because I like your products. But please , improve the quality control.

GTX 780
- Pros: Worth the money, very high quality heat sink is all metal,
boost of 20 to 30 fps in tests so far with no over clock yet, GEFORCE GTX lights up on side of card, very happy so far - Cons: Did not come with metro last light, If I buy a $200 card I get a copy but not this one?
I need to buy a 2nd now People that give it bad reviews because of the price If you complain the card is to much $ and greedy nvidia is bad for the price of it well to bad thats capitalism they are allowed to make money and people have options take your business elsewhere thats the beauty of capitalism
- Other Thoughts: Rig had gtx 570 in SLI I was not sure if this upgrade was going to be worth it , games Crysis 1&3, Battlefield Farcry BD,Assasins creed, Clear gain in perfomance. I spent $650 for the 570s when those launched in 2010 still worked good but noticed upgrade was needed after crysis 3. Had a buget of $700 for upgrade, I was going to go SLI with a 670 or 680 but would have cost $200 to $300 more with no upgrade path. Got the performance increase I wanted now using one of the 570s for physx card for now and get another 780 in a few months

SiliconDust HDHomeRun PRIME - Three Digital Tuners, Anywhere on Your Network HDHR3-CC Ethernet Interface

Escape STB Monthly Rentals
- Pros: Works flawlessly with FIOS. I have three Primes installed so all five machines I have can access the tuners. Use WMC to move all my recordings to my WHS2011 server to hold all the recordings, so no matter what TV I am using I can watch any recording made by any PC on any TV.
- Cons: This is not much of a con, but the first one I purchased about a year and a half ago died after a power outage. Luckily it I had already installed my second Prime, so I still had TV. I emailed SiliconDust and RMA process was easy, and the customer service great. I received a replacement in less than the "minimum" two weeks I was told would be needed for a technician to look at the item.
Like I said, not much of a con.
- Other Thoughts: It is key to know what software and programs you are going to use on your machine. An anti-virus and/or firewall program could cause a lot of problems for users that "think" they are experienced.
Most, if not all, of the bad reviews appear to to be from those who don't understand software. I can't give any insight on different service providers or operating systems other than Windows 7, but every complaint about it not working properly are fairly basic issues that depend more on the user than the hardware. I build machines ALL the time, and I am constantly upgrading my own hardware, and because of this I expect to have problems. Ironically, the only problem I have is the inability to access on-demand features, but that is STB only. I have used these tuners with various hardware configs such as an Atom D525, various Core2 Duo/Quad without any problems. I have probably built 10-15 different machines and have not any issue. All my machines are currently i7's, but the primary machines used to watch/record TV are: i7 3770k, Gigabyte Z77, 16GB, 256GB Crucial SSD, 1TB WD Green SATA II, on-board graphics i7 3770, Gigabyte Z77, 8GB, 256GB Samsung SSD, 1TB Seagate 7.2k SATA III, EVGA GTX 550 TI i7 2600, Gigabyte Z77, 8GB, 256GB Crucial SSD, 1TB Seagate 7.2k SATA III, EVGA GTX 465

Corsair Vengeance K70 CH-9000011-NA Black USB Wired Gaming Mechanical Keyboard

Great Keyboard
- Pros: This keyboard is great. I was a bit apprehensive at first about changing keyboards because I am the type of person that will hang on to something that I love to use and replace it with the same thing when it breaks (Speaking of keyboards and mice). Unless of course there is an updated version of it. Over all here are my PROS about this keyboard:
1. Keys feel great, the distance of the key to switch is great. 2. Sounds good on the key clicks 3. Keys feel durable, made of a good plastic material and letters/numbers seem to be on there pretty good, not cheap stickers. 4. The WASD replaceable keys are a nice feature that add to the appeal of the keyboard as a whole, these are textured and metallic-ish red in color. 5. Back light I believe has 3 different levels of brightness which is a nice customization feature.
Have not had a single issue with this keyboard as of yet, works great and glad that I switched over to it. - Cons: NOT a con, just a suggestion: Would be cool if there was a multicolored key option setting. Cool customization feature :O)

G.SKILL 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Memory for Apple Model FA-1333C9Q-16GSQ

Great price for a great product
- Pros: Perfect fit and now with 16gb 2011 iMac is running perfect.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: If you can't close your RAM "doors" that means you didn't apply enough pressure to slide the module in. You have to apply about 20 - 30 lbs of pressure to install the RAM. Thats just how iMacs are!
