- Pros: Good price, versatile to different chipsets.
- Cons: It wasn't as easy as I'd have liked it to be to install, and it comes with far too little thermal paste.
- Other Thoughts: Buy this if you're built a few PC's... not if it's your first one.

Printer is great, software... not so great
- Pros: If this review was strictly for the hardware it would have been 5 eggs out of 5. The print quality is great, scanner quality is great, printer connected to my network and I was able to install on 4 different versions of Windows without a problem
- Cons: the one con, the SOFTWARE IS TERRIBLE . I uninstalled some of the HP bloat ware and after a reboot found out that it removed all of my user data for my main account on my main pc
- Other Thoughts: usually HP story, great hardware absolutely awful software

No Brainer
- Pros: - Solid Construction, not malformed at all
- bravia sync hdmi-cec supported... (note there are still problems with this tech not related to the cable) - sensible pricing - mesh protective covering prevents cable damage - gold ends are covered with rubber caps to keep debris out - Cons: - none
- Other Thoughts: Look... you can go buy the 60 dollar HDMI cable if it makes you feel better. But say you bought 3 of these and one was bad, you would still be further ahead. I bought 2 and they both work flawlessly. Spend the money you save here on better equipment.

Linux Users: It works with no problems!
- Pros: I've been a Linux user for several years and have always used serial port modems. I'm a fan of external modems for two reasons: Linux and thunderstorms, the latter of which are very frequent here in Florida. Modems have an affinity for lightning and having an external modem means should it be the victim of lightning the rest of the system will be unharmed. Unfortunately serial ports are being phased out with the new motherboards and I had to do some research on alternative modems. This USR modem seemed to be a prime candidate.
When I got it I was a bit put off by it's small size -- It can fit in a pocket with room to spare. How could it be a serious modem? But all I had to do to make it work with my installation of Linux -- Fedora Core 12 -- was change one line in one configuration file. I tried the connection and was online with no errors. All this took about one minute. I'm very pleased and now I don't have to worry about new motherboards not having serial ports. - Cons: No cons except it might be hard to find if I lose it in one of my junk piles.
- Other Thoughts: It occured to me this modem might be handy for a laptop computer because of it's small size. But then most people these days don't have to struggle with dial-up like I do.

- Pros: Great board for the price. Easy to put together, just don't forget you need 8pins of power for the onboard video card.
- Cons: I bought this in spite of the DOA complaints and had a bit of an adventure. I initially hooked everything up, and the computer wouldn't post... it got power and nothing happened. First I cleared CMOS, then one by one I took everything out and no change until lastly I took all the RAM out, and it beeped to say there was no RAM, which was a change at least. I put one stick back in, no boot. I was about to RMA it when i thought to try a different stick of RAM just for the heck of it. It booted! Out of curiosity, i took that stick out and went back to the previous one, and it booted! So honestly I have no idea what trouble I was going through.. it was a pain in the behind.. but it's been great ever since.
- Other Thoughts: I'm rating mostly taking in consideration once i got it to work it was great. Really though I'd go more of a 3.5 than a 4.

******HOW TO PROPERLY SETUP A WRT610N*****
- Pros: Pros: Great speed. Wireless is only less than 5% slower than ethernet connection. USB link port is very solid.
Cons: Not designed for people who want plug & play devices with no knowledge of networking.
I will agree with a lot of people here regarding people that stated that this router is no good. Those people do not know what they're doing. I bought a REFURBISHED version 1... and it works perfect. After reading so many bad reviews, I had the feeling that all refurbished WRT610Ns were probably from people who didn't know how to get it to work properly.
****HOW TO PROPERLY SETUP A WRT610N ROUTER****
1) Download the latest firmware to your computer from Linksys' website. Do this even before you receive your WRT610N. Reading all the comments about the firmware, I didn't even bother trying the stock firmware.
2) Upon receiving the router, plug in the power cable and plug it into the AC outlet. No CAT5 cables yet. - Cons: Once it powers up, hold the reset button for a few seconds until the power light starts to blink. Release the reset button.
3) Once it powers up completely, plug your computer to the router with a CAT5 cable. Log into the router. Upload the new firmware.
4) After the upload is complete, unplug the power cable from the router, wait a few seconds, then plug it back it. This is to be assure the load was good.
5) Wireless configurations: #1 Rule: Do not use auto on both G and N. Set 2.5Ghz band for B-G only and to a certain channel (6 or 11 works best). And set 5Ghz band for N only. #2 Rule: Do not use the same encryption on both G and N. Set different encryption methods (example., WPA2 for G, WEP for N)
6) Disconnect the CAT5 cable, and try connecting to the N-wireless (do not connect to G. this is for testing purposes) Once your pc connects to the N network wirelessly, log into the router wirelessly.
- Other Thoughts: 7) 5Ghz in its nature is a sensitive frequency. The higher the frequency, the weaker the signal gets... but also gets faster. With that said, the 5Ghz N portion needs to be tweaked to what works best.
- On your computer, open up the Wireless Network Connection Status window. Leave this window open at all time so you can see the connection speed (If you have more than one pc with wireless N, do the same thing). - Log into the router via wireless N. Go to Wireless Advanced section. Band: do not set AUTO on the band. Start off with 40Mhz. From there, pick the first channel (44 or something like that). - Now check the speed(s) of the pc connection(s). Try out ever 40Mhz band until you find the best speed. Once most solid and fastest speed is achieved, save the configs. If no band is solid, then result to 20Mhz.
COMPLETE!
I ran a stress test for 12 hours with no problem. For details on USB link setup and stress test details, please read my Amzon review.

RE: Mike Mihai
- Pros: 6 cores, and it's AMD. Lots of cache, a real heavy lifter.
- Cons: I can't afford two.
- Other Thoughts: This is the 2P version(though it is the high-end 2P Instanbul processor). The AMD Opteron 8431 Istanbul 2.4GHz chip is designed for 4P/8P motherboards. That P is "physical sockets" on the motherboard(8***, vs 2*** get it?).

Easy to use and works very well
- Pros: I'm an IT professional, so I expected I would need to RDP into the box, however, WHS is packed with a very easy to use console UI. The console gives the average home user just enough options and if you ever need to really tinker with the box the RDP service is default on
- Cons: runs a bit hot, with 4 1.5 TB WD Green drives I get frequent heat critical reports
- Other Thoughts: for the home market, this is a great easy to use tool to backup & share with up to 10 pc's, I've already restored a laptop that installing a HP wireless printer wiped all user data off of

- Pros: After reading the reviews setup and connection to network took only a few minutes. Netflix setup easy and playback is better than my computer. Played with slacker seems to be worthwhile. It played a Ridata bluray disc, and it was great quality. Much better than my LG burner in my computer that I stream to my tv with a DVI connection.
- Cons: No HDMI cable, but it did not list as accessory
- Other Thoughts: My first bluray stand alone, and it has exceeded my expectations.
