Rating + 1 Terrible Follow-Through and Failure to Ship Properly

I placed in order in October, and despite the cost of the order, Gigasonic chose a carrier method that required no signature and resulted in lost goods. After over 7 months of constant emails and very few responses, I finally received a claims check for a fifth of the the amount I paid. Their service has been astoundingly terrible in regards to responses, and their negligence in shipping should be taken into consideration before making a purchase from this company. As a buyer, remember that you have control over the goods you receive when you look at reputation.

I purchased from NewEgg, to be shipped by another company. I paid a lot of money for expedited shipping 12/26. The paperwork for the carrier wasn't even made up until 12/31.... expedited? I think not. I'm not accustomed to that kind of shoddy treatment. Most companies try to KEEP new customers. If I have this package by 1/2, and everything is intact, I'll up the rating to 2 or 3 stars. At any rate, I won't be having anything to do with anything that's connected with that company again. Shame on that company and shame on NewEgg for associating with them.

NewEgg, please note that I have not named your reseller or any prices I paid. Your review guidelines are designed to only allow good reviews and I have given good reviews in the past. A good review is not deserved at this time.

    Open Box
    An open box fee equal to 25% of the purchase price will be charged on any opened item, unless the item is defective and exchanged for the exact same item. The 25% open box fee will be assessed at the time of refund or exchange. Merchandise is only exchanged for the same item. All items must be in the original undamaged manufacturer packaging they arrived in. Non Opened Box Returns will be charged a 15% restocking fee.

    Not available for Return
    Opened Software, clearance items, Records, unrepairable items such as Microphones, Headphones and In-Earphones may NOT be returned for refund. These items can be exchanged only if product is defective on arrival (DOA). will not accept the return of any item if the UPC code has been removed from the packaging.
    Products returned to without proof of delivery or RA number may result in forfeiture of your refund.

    Defective Items (US Customers)
    If you suspect an item you purchased from us is defective, please contact the manufacturer's Technical Support. They will determine what the problem is with the product. If the Technical Support Representative determines a defect with the product, we will need his name along with a description of the problem. You can then contact us for a Return Authorization Number. We will either get your product repaired or get you a replacement depending on the manufacturers policy.

    *GigaSonic is only responsible for covering one ways shipping cost.

    *Should you need a replacement fast you will have to make a deposit for the item. Once we receive the defective unit we will release the deposit.

    Refused Items
    Shipping fees will not be refunded if shipment is refused at time of delivery.

Return Instruction
    1. Log onto your account and find your order in order history, click on 'Request RMA from Seller' Button next to the order information.
    2. On 'Compose Message Page', verify the order number you want to request return on the top of the page, choose 'RMA Inquiry' from the drop down menu, provide the item# (you can find on your order invoice e-mail) and the reason you want to return, and indicate you want to return for replacement or refund before click 'send message' button.
    3. Once our Customer Service Representatives receive your inquiry, it will take us 24 - 48 hours to respond to your inquiry.
    4. Once our Customer Service has verified your order information and approved for you to send the merchandise back to us, you will be provided with Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number for your return through e-mail. The e-mail contains RMA number, RMA details and important return shipping instruction. Read the instruction carefully before you ship your return merchandise back to us.
    5. We strongly recommend you return your item in the same or similar packaging as they were delivered to you with all the original parts, accessories and menu/documentation included (any missing parts or accessories may result your return being rejected or your refund/replacement being delayed). Re-using the package your item came in is acceptable, as long as the packaging is in good condition and all previous addresses, tracking information and labels are removed.
