Rating + 1 Very poor

Never received ordered item. After 2 weeks of trying to get refund/replacement, I have had no contact from the seller. Will never order from them again. Disappointed that NewEgg (who has always been great) has not corrected the issue. By the way, the GOOGLE TRUSTED STORE "protection" was of no value at all. They did nothing as far as I can tell.

Overall a good experience. Just wish the device did not die in the first 3 hours of having it installed. Delivery was swift and the return process was smooth - not sure if it was all newegg or grassroots. Overall the experience was what I expected.

Rating + 1 Bad product and communication

I ordered a 1 x Refurbished: WD Elements 2TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive WDBU6Y0020BBK-NESN Black from this company it arrived broken. Attempting to RMA and it's been a long while with no communication so I am out 70$. Terrible.

bought reman drive, only clicks doesn't work, sent n plastic bag/no box or anything else.
will cost me 20% of my purchase to mail back.
poor shipping , will never buy from again.

Rating + 2 I'm out ten bucks...

I ordered a refurbed external hard drive from these characters trying to save some money. The hard drive worked for about 9 minutes. I neither know nor care what the industry standard is, they essentially charged me to send it back (made me pay the return shipping). So now in addition to wasting my time, they've blown ten of what had previously been my dollars.

At least the RMA was processed in a timely fashion, which is why they get two eggs and not one, but no company that does this to me can expect me as a repeat customer. Seriously chintzy.

Rating + 1 Never got my refund

I was promised a couple of things that I never got from customer service. I will list them below.

1)A refund for a laptop I ordered that never arrived
2)A shipping label so that I could send back the hard drive that arrived instead of that laptop
3)$25 off the next purchase that I made as a partial recompense for my troubles

I think thats it. If you guys ever want me to buy from you again please do something about this.

Rating + 5 Great Hard Drive, Better Price

I was looking for a good deal on stand alone hard drives (not portable, way too brittle for the traveling I do) and this company had great deals. I even messed up the "Ship To" address and I called and emailed them to fix it. They fixed the issue no problem and my package arrived at the correct address.

Rating + 1 Not sure about them just yet

The router didn't work well and had to be reset several times a day so I asked for a RMA # which they provided.

I sent it back on my dime like they requested and have not received any word from them or a refund yet and it has been a couple weeks now.

I'll give them another week and then get on them about it I guess.

RMA Policy
    Grassroots Computers will honor a return for exchange of defective merchandise within 30 days of purchase. We do not provide technical support for products, you will need to contact manufacturers directly to confirm the status of your item. If it is defective they will provide you with an RMA number directly or you can submit a return request with Grassroots Computers directly as well after diagnosis. If you would simply like to return the item because you purchased the wrong item there will be a 15% restocking fee. You are required to pay for return shipping.
RMA instructions
    1. Log onto your account and find your order in order history, click on 'Request RMA from Seller' Button next to the order information.
    2. On 'Compose Message Page', verify the order number you want to request return on the top of the page, choose 'RMA Inquiry' from the drop down menu, provide the item# (you can find on your order invoice e-mail) and the reason you want to return, and indicate you want to return for replacement or refund before click 'send message' button.
    3. Once our Customer Service Representatives receive your inquiry, it will take us 24 - 48 hours to respond to your inquiry.
    4. Once our Customer Service has verified your order information and approved for you to send the merchandise back to us, you will be provided with Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number for your return through e-mail. The e-mail contains RMA number, RMA details and important return shipping instruction. Read the instruction carefully before you ship your return merchandise back to us.
    5. We strongly recommend you return your item in the same or similar packaging as they were delivered to you with all the original parts, accessories and menu/documentation included (any missing parts or accessories may result your return being rejected or your refund/replacement being delayed). Re-using the package your item came in is acceptable, as long as the packaging is in good condition and all previous addresses, tracking information and labels are removed.
