VbV and MCSC are simple-to-use services which confirm your identity with a personal password when shopping online, giving you an extra layer of security and protection.
Once your Visa or MasterCard is activated you will be able to quickly input your password at checkout and protect your card from unauthorized use online.
How the services work...
First, activate your card – Easily enroll in the programs by logging onto your Visa/MasterCard Issuer’s website to register and create your password.
Shop at Newegg (a VbV & MCSC participant merchant) - When you are ready to make an online purchase:
1. Enter your credit card information, as usual, click Submit.
2. At this point, Visa or MasterCard will recognize you as a registered participant and give you a screen with your details and prompt you for your password. Don’t forget to check your Personal Message. Note: This communication is only between you and your card Issuer. Your personal information and password is never shared with Newegg or any participating merchant.
3-A. VBV / MCSC code available - Enter the secure password in the VbV / MCSC window and choose Submit. Your password will be validated, your identity verified, and the transaction completed quickly, as usual.
3-B. VBV / MCSC code not available – Since VBV / MCSC verification is optional, if you choose to skip this verification page, simply click “Cancel”. Newegg will re-direct you back to the checkout page. Please complete the checkout procedure like you would normally and submit your order.
Please note:Newegg will still accept your order without a password entry, but it is subject to additional Fraud Screening processes to protect you against unauthorized use of your card. Therefore, for your security, we highly recommend all cardholders register and use VBV / MCSC.

It takes one to two business days for us to process an order (prior to shipping it). Once the order has shipped, your estimated time of arrival will be determined by your selected shipping method and your local FedEx guidelines for delivery.

The server allows 5 login attempts every 5 minutes. Beyond that, it will "time out" the account, and login will be forbidden for several minutes. If this "time out" occurs 20 times within the span of 3 days, the IP address used for these attempts will be locked, and login from that IP will no longer work.
