Returning a Product to Newegg

We want you to be completely satisfied with your shopping experience at Newegg. When you need to return a product to us, please follow the easy steps listed below to make sure your return is handled promptly and efficiently.

Your Options

Most products can be returned for either a Refund or for a Replacement of the same item. Any return for a refund may be subject to a 15% restocking fee.

The RMA Process – Four Easy Steps


  1. Create an RMA for your item
    • Your product needs to be returned with an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number so we can identify it. You can create an RMA online,or request one from Customer Service.
  2. Send the product to Newegg
    • Once your RMA is issued, you can print a UPS shipping label from our web site!
    • Box up the item you’re returning and send it to:

    • If you choose not to use our UPS shipping label service, we recommend using a courier who provides package tracking and basic insurance coverage.
  1. Your RMA is Received and Approved
    • You’ll receive an email once your shipment is received at our RMA facility.
    • You’ll receive another email once your package has been opened and your RMA has been reviewed & approved. It usually takes 2-5 business days from the time we receive your shipment to review and approve your RMA.
  2. RMA Resolution
    • If you requested a Replacement, a new order will be generated once your RMA is approved. You’ll receive standard email updates for the replacement order, just as you would for a newly placed Newegg order.
    • If you requested a Refund, a credit memo will be generated once your RMA is approved. You can expect the refund amount to be credited to your original payment method 3-5 business days later. The turnaround time for Refunds often depends on your bank’s policies for making the funds available to you.
    • The overall turnaround time for a return is about 5-8 business days from the time we receive the shipment; (that is, 2-5 business days for RMA processing and 2-3 business days to expedite your refund or replacement).


Marketplace: If you purchase an item from a Newegg Marketplace seller and need to return it, you must return that item to the Marketplace seller rather than to Newegg. Check the Seller's Policy Page for the return procedure of individual Marketplace sellers. In the event of a conflict between Newegg's product return procedure and those on a Seller's Policy Page, the Seller's Policy Page return procedures shall apply to your orders from that seller.

Return Policies

Every product that you purchase from Newegg has a Return Policy that defines the time period and limitations for returning the product. You can view all policy types on the Return Policy Page, or see the policy that applies to your purchased products on your invoice, under My Account.

Our Return Policies are updated occasionally, but rest assured that the listed policy at the time you purchase your product will apply even if that product’s policy is changed after you buy it.

Inspections

Most RMAs are processed within 24-48 hours, but a small percentage cannot be resolved without contacting you for further information. If you receive an email from our RMA Inspections staff, it usually means your return was missing part of the product (such as accessories, the retail box, a battery, etc.) that we need in order to accept the RMA. The email will describe the issue and let you know what action you should take, if necessary.

Special RMA Terms

Some items Newegg sells have special conditions that are described in the applicable Return Policy. In particular, some items may only be returned for a replacement rather than a refund. It’s always best to review your product’s Return Policy before checkout, which is viewable on the item’s product detail page or your Newegg invoice. RMA processing time may vary depending on the product and reason for the return but generally processing time is 2-5 business days once the RMA is received and meet all following criteria:

  1. Return with RMA number clearly identified in shipping label or on package.
  2. Return with all original equipment, components, manuals, cables, documents, packaging.
  3. UPC code along with retail package.
  4. No physical damage caused by customer or by carrier.
  5. Item is NOT out of warranty when it is received.

Yes. You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization ("RMA") number within the applicable Return Policy period. Newegg will not accept returns without prior authorization and an RMA number. Once issued, RMA numbers are valid for 15 days. Newegg must receive the returned products within this timeframe. RMA numbers will not be extended or reissued. Customer should prominently display the RMA number(s) on the shipping label of boxes containing the returned product.

Yes. All original equipment, components, manuals, cables, documents and packaging must be returned with your item in order for Newegg to process your RMA. Newegg cannot process RMA returns that are incomplete; incomplete RMAs will be returned to you. In most cases, items sent in for RMA replacement will be replaced with a full item set, including accessories. Please return all accessories with your RMA.

No. Unfortunately, we do not exchange RMA items for different items. We will only replace an RMA'd item with a an identical replacement item of the same make and model.

If the return policy period for a refund has not yet expired, you can request an RMA Refund, order a new item, and we'll refund your original purchase after we receive your returned product.

Any return for a refund may be subject to a 15% restocking fee. This fee may be waived for the following reasons:

  • Carrier damage
  • Defective product
  • Product does not match advertising
  • Received incorrect product
  • Product was an extra item not ordered
Note: Any return that is misrepresented as being for any of the above reasons will automatically have the restocking fee applied even if it was initially waived.

Once received, notebook / laptop RMA processing time can take 2 - 3 weeks from the date RMA is received. Transit time is not included in this timeframe.

All notebooks returned will be tested to verify the defect returned under.

If defect is confirmed, a repair of verified defect will be performed, replacements will only be issued for units that could not be repaired.

ALL notebooks returned must be received 100% complete as received by customer.

User must remove ALL system passwords (BIOS password, Windows password, manufacturer restore program password, etc.)

Units received password protected will be denied and return to customer.

Yes, and the requirements are as follows: If you wish to return a Bundle Special for a refund, you must return the ENTIRE BUNDLE within 30 days of purchase. Any return for a refund may be subject to a 15% restocking fee. This fee may be waived for the following reasons:

  • Received incorrect product

Newegg does not cross-ship any items. If you do have a defective item, and it is eligible for a refund, you can get an RMA for a refund on that item. Separate from that, you can re-order the item on the website. You will receive the refund for the defective item once we process the RMA.
