--Online Retailer Visits Los Angeles Area Shopping Malls on Thanksgiving Evening and Black Friday--
CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., November 23, 2011 -- Newegg Inc., the second-largest online-only retailer in the United States, and its agency of record goodness Mfg. have created STOP “Mall Madness,” a mobile shopping experience just in time to save people from the crowds and chaos of Black Friday. The campaign helps people avoid the malls this holiday season and instead offers mobile stores with a mix of deals that will be stationed in mall parking lots throughout the Los Angeles area.
The mobile stores are a one-time event that begins on Thanksgiving evening and runs into the early hours of Black Friday. They feature a special mobile billboard that combines QR codes and a street team armed with tablets and smartphones bringing deals found online to the people stuck in line outside malls.
“We want to make holiday shopping as painless as possible for our customers,” said Bernard Luthi, senior vice president of marketing and web management at Newegg. “Why wait in long lines and deal with overcrowded stores when you can shop online?
