--Leading E-Retailer to Give Away Acer Aspire, ASUS Zenbook and Lenovo IdeaPad Ultrabook Devices, Inspired by Intel, during March Promotion--
CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., March 13, 2012 -- Newegg Inc., the leading electronics-focused e-retailer in the United States, today announced support from Intel Corporation for a daily giveaway of the new, stylish Ultrabook devices during March’s NCAA basketball tournament. From March 13 until April 2, Newegg will hold its Ultrabook-A-Day Giveaway Sweepstakes, which awards one lucky person an Acer Aspire S3-951-6646, ASUS Zenbook UX21E-DH52 or Lenovo IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook each day. Popular technology blogs BetaNews and LittleTechGirl have signed on as official media sponsors of the sweepstakes.
The Ultrabook is, and will continue to be, a hot-ticket item. According to a recent study conducted by Reportlinker.com, the Ultrathin Portable market has recently evolved and is expected to grow at a compound annual rate of 92 percent until 2017. In addition to being less than one inch thick, Ultrabook devices offer multiple benefits to users. They can explore the Internet, watch movies, listen to music or play games – all while enjoying the ability to wake from a deep sleep to full use in less than seven seconds and offering a minimum of five to eight hours of battery life.
“We are delighted to partner with Intel to offer slam dunk brands such as Acer, ASUS and Lenovo as giveaways for our sweepstakes,” said Bob Bellack, CEO of Newegg North America. “We are committed to providing consumers with top notch electronics, especially popular items such as Ultrabook devices that help keep them connected while on the go.”
The sleek Ultrabook devices offered by Newegg during the sweepstakes include the Acer Aspire S3-951-6646, ASUS Zenbook UX21E-DH52 and Lenovo IdeaPad U300s. All three Ultrabook devices are powered by the latest second generation Intel® Core™ processor and weigh less than three pounds each. The Acer Aspire features a 13.3-inch screen and 320GB hard disk drive, while the ASUS Zenbook has an 11.6-inch screen and a minimum thickness of only 0.12 inches. The Lenovo IdeaPad includes designer aspects such as a one-piece, full-aluminum shell and a cool-touch palm rest.
“College basketball fans will find that the only thing more amazing than the Ultrabook is what they’ll do with it,” said Steve Peterson, North America Retail Marketing Manager at Intel. “With its responsiveness, exceptional battery life and sleek style and design, fans can enjoy the experience even more by sharing their thoughts on social media hubs, enjoying highlights or engaging in their fantasy brackets.”
Newegg’s Ultrabook-A-Day sweepstakes is open to residents of the United States. To enter, and for complete rules, visit: www.newegg.com/ultrabooksweeps. Daily winners will be randomly selected from a pool of entries and announced on a daily basis via the sweepstakes’ landing page.
