First-place winner receives keys to a brand-new Mini Cooper S# # #
CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. – Newegg.com, the second largest online-only retailer in the U.S., has rewarded one of its customers in a big way: Kevin Thornton, of Chicago, Ill., is now driving a brand-new Mini Cooper S. Thornton was just one of the lucky winners in Newegg.com’s second-annual customer appreciation sweepstakes, which handed out prizes worth more than $50,000.
Newegg.com received more than 54,000 entries in the sweepstakes, which ran through Dec. 31, 2007. In addition to the Mini Cooper, over 150 participants won prizes such as digital cameras, iPods, portable DVD players, Bluetooth headsets and flash drives.

Thornton, a real estate agent, received the keys to his new car, valued at $26,800, on Tues., March 4. A native of Roselle, Ill., he learned about the sweepstakes while browsing on the company’s site.
