How we got started

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- started in 2007 as a new department of our retail designer eyeglasses and sunglasses business. Quickly we realized that our customers not only shop for new prescription lenses and new frames, they also ask us the popular question "Can this be fixed?". Tired of telling customers NO, we decided to explore the idea of repair rather then replacement. In late 2007 we remodeled the second floor of our office and hired the staff that today runs our laboratory. Our two lab technicians have combined over 17 years of expert experience in the field of optometry, eyewear repair and eyewear sales.

Our Labs


Our second floor has been separated to house two main labs that provide different services.

•The Eyewear Repair Lab is staffed by two technicians , five days a week providing internet eyewear repair customers resolutions to the toughest repair jobs.
•Our Prescription Lab is staffed by an optomotrists whose task is to produce roughly thirty prescription orders a day for both retail customer and internet customers. Our lab does the cutting of lenses, shaping rimless and semi-rimless frames, performing drill mounts, edging and surfacing as well as coatings such as anti-reflection coating and UV protection coatings.

We are able to offer extremely competitive prices, because all of our repairs are carried out in our own optical lab. We do not outsource the work to third parties. We do not send the glasses somewhere else risking the possible loss of your merchandise. We do this work to the highest quality standards in the industry. In fact recently a customer of ours compared our business to the standards employed by jewelry making.

Rating + 1 To say that this was the worst experience of my life would be crediting this seller more than they deserve

I've often seen customers say they'd give 0 eggs if possible but I've never had the urge to say that myself. Now is just such a time.

I'm writing this review on 10/19. I bought an item on 9/11. At no point over the last 5 weeks have I experienced anything besides dishonesty and incompetence from this company.

The run-down:

* I purchased on 9/11 and paid $30 extra for one-day shipping.

* On 9/11, I got an email saying the item I purchased was unavailable and asking me how to proceed. I requested a refund and was told (on 9/11) "Your request for a refund has been approved and will be scheduled today."

* Having been unable to purchase my desired item, I went elsewhere and purchased (also on 9/11).

* On 9/15, I received tracking information from THIS SELLER for the item I'd ordered. I emailed saying that I no longer wanted/needed the item and that I'd been assured a full refund. The seller said, "The order in newegg was not cancelled we fill all our orders."

* I called customer service on 9/15 to inquire about the complete idiocy of the situation. I was told that I had two options: Keep the item I no longer needed or return the item and pay a 20% restocking fee + return shipping/return insurance. They said there was nothing I could do before the item arrived.

* The item arrived on 9/19, despite paying $30 for one-day shipping _and_ despite canceling my order. The item itself seemed to be of questionable quality: The sunglasses creaked a lot when the arms were folded open/closed, and in general, they were of much lesser quality than the equivalent item I purchased directly from the manufacturer (Ray Ban). At this point, I opened a Newegg complaint because I refused to be out $50+ to return an item I never should have received.

* Between the dates of 9/20 and 9/29, Newegg and I exchanged ~20 emails with OpticsFast. After threatening to open a PayPal claim to ensure I got a full refund, OpticsFast customer service agreed to let me RMA the item for a full refund _minus_ the price of return shipping.

* I sent the item back to OpticsFast on 9/29 with shipping confirmation. The item arrived at the seller's address on 10/4.

* On 10/6, I contacted OpticsFast to find out the status of my return. I was told first by their customer service rep (Becky S, in case you ever have to deal with the person) that I may have sent it to the wrong address (despite my having copied/pasted the address Becky herself had given me onto the shipping paperwork); later, I was told that the item was "probably" at the warehouse, that Becky wasn't sure because she hadn't visited the warehouse yet, and that "Once I go there and get the item we will refund."

* On 10/9, I contacted Newegg with the fact that no refund had been issued and included all this data. Newegg tried to make email contact with the seller on 10/14, 10/18, and 10/19 without success.

* On 10/19, Newegg called the seller on my behalf. I'm not sure precisely what they were told - only that the Newegg supervisor said "ok there was n/a," as told to me by the Newegg rep - but it appears that Newegg itself is finally going to issue me a refund, somewhere between the dates of 10/24 and 10/26.

To summarize: if you're in the market for sunglasses, I would encourage you to go elsewhere. By the time my money is retuned to me, it will have taken approximately 40 days, constant reaching out by both Newegg and me, and an overall level of stress and frustration that's completely idiotic, even by the most relaxed standards.

To say that I've never had such an experience would be a total understatement, and the fact that this entity can consider themselves a business is absolutely absurd.

tl;dr: 0/10. Would not recommend. Users who like this company also like: The Holocaust, dead babies, kicking newborn puppies and kittens, and barbed wire backdoor penetration.

Got the product on time, Ordered Emperio Armani Sunglasses, Proper packaging to protect the product was used. Glasses came with all proper documentation and official Armani tags and accessories for the product and have all official proper markings as advertised.

Read some bad reviews and decided to give them a chance knowing 1000s of people order off these companies and rarely do satisfied people leave a positive review where as dissatisfied people tend to leave bad reviews from bad experiences which no corporation escapes from as well as competitors tend to try their hands at espionage and corp sabotage to degrade and berate other sellers E-markets and several others are plagued by this.

Will recommend to others, and will use their services again.

I ordered Gucci sunglasses from Opticsfast that were lost by USPS in the shipping process. Opticsfast customer service was rude when I spoke with them on the phone and told me that they would not refund the purchase price until they had received compensation from USPS through the insurance they took out when shipping. No mention of this policy on their website. After 3 weeks, the sunglasses showed up at my door step, but damaged. The leather case appears to have been sitting in water, the paint is peeling from the front of the frame and 2 small screws are missing from the lens. The water damage and peeling paint could have occurred while they were "lost in the mail" but the lack of screws tells me they knowingly shipped me a damaged product. Optics fast continues to be extremely rude and while Newegg refunded my purchase directly after I complained, Opticsfast is demanding I pay for the cost of returning the damaged glasses or they will file civil suit. They refuse to provide a prepaid shipping label for the return. BUYERS BEWARE OF OPTICSFAST!!!!!

I do not recommend buying here. If there is trouble, they tell you sorry they can't help and to contact the seller of the glasses. Newegg did not show eyeglasses size. My purchase was not informed. I have started the dispute with the credit company. Beware.

Ordered a pair of Christian Dior sunglasses via Newegg's "Marketplace" vendor, Opticsfast. Glasses were shipped in a very thin flat rate Priority box, wrapped in obviously used (crumpled)white tissue paper. There was no case included and both arms on the glasses are loose or wobbly. The lenses were dirty as well. Frankly, I can't even be sure that they're authentic but they're definitely not new and first quality. Newegg provided me an RMA number but has not sent a postage paid shipping label.....still waiting. There are apparently 2 other negative reviews--Newegg needs to drop Opticsfast--FAST!

Rating + 1 Still no glasses! Horrible Customer Service

I placed an order for these sun glasses over 3 weeks ago and I still do not have them. I have been very easy going on the company and while they do email me back fairly fast, It is the worst customer service possible. They just dont care. They have my money and have run with it. Continued promises of taking care of the situation yet no resolution well after 3 weeks now, going on a month. I would highly recommend staying away from this seller.

Return Instruction
