I am unable to review the product because Optics Planet, advertising through the NewEgg webstore refused to honor their offer to sell the ordered product. I consider this to be fraudulent advertising and I am not happy with either Optics Planet's sales policies or with NewEgg which allows a company such as Optics Planet, with such shoddy sales policies, to offer products through the NewEgg webstore. This incident does not encourage me to ever shop at NewEgg again in the future.

Rating + 1 Sent Wrong Item - Regular Refund Dings me for Ridiculous Shipping Charge

Ordered Barska scope combo from Optics Planet through Newegg and did not receive what I ordered I received a much cheaper scope, no laser or flashlight. Contacted them per the instructions on packing slip to get refund, but they told me to contact Newegg. Waited forever to chat with Newegg and they told me to contact Optics Planet. It's been 4 days and NO RESOLUTION!!! If I use the refund process I get dinged for the ridiculous $20 shipping charge plus having to pay to ship the item back. Since I DID NOTHING WRONG, I should not have to pay anything!!!

The item listed in this sale was not the item I received. I'm thinking the fault lies with OpticsPlanet doesn't even sell the item listed in the sale. It has been awhile since the transaction, but the price listed for the item was way too low - about $95 for an item that sells for about $350! I thought maybe it was a close out and ordered the item just in case. After placing the order, the item could not be found at the link I ordered it from. It could only be found at a direct link from the notification e-mail I received. Someone who updates your web listing botched it. Fortunately, OpticsPlanet was kind to allow me to return the wrong item with return shipping paid.

Rating + 1 Scratched eye piece - sold without disclosure

Bought an open box spotting scope eyepiece for $535.00, normal retail ~$750.00. The item description stated it had been reconditioned by the manufacturer. Everything was fine with the epurchase and shipping time until I opened the box and saw the exit pupil lens had several significant and deep scratches. The exterior was heavily worn and the painted numbers and text faded. I would have been fine with the (greater than expected) wear to the body but the eyepiece lens being deeply etched was unacceptable. If there had been any disclosure to the fact the most critical component of a spotting scope was compromised the item could not have been sold without having been repaired by the manufacture. I immediately returned the item the next day. I have now been waiting 3 weeks without any reply from Optics Planet for my refund. Fingers crossed.

RMA instructions
    1. Log onto your account and find your order in order history, click on 'Request RMA from Seller' Button next to the order information.
    2. On 'Compose Message Page', verify the order number you want to request return on the top of the page, choose 'RMA Inquiry' from the drop down menu, provide the item# (you can find on your order invoice e-mail) and the reason you want to return, and indicate you want to return for replacement or refund before click 'send message' button.
    3. Once our Customer Service Representatives receive your inquiry, it will take us 24 ¨C 48 hours to respond to your inquiry.
