5 out of 5 eggsLight years ahead of what I had

Pros: This was for a complete overhaul of a system I built in April 2009. I'm really impressed with the speed I get from the motherboard (I had been running on a AMD Phenom x4 2.0Ghz -oc'd to 2.4 on a EVGA nForce720a motherboard, which served me well and is still a decent board) This new board paired with an AMD FX-6300 processor is just fantastic compared to what I had been using. The upgrade in RAM (and future capacity) and SATA III data speeds is really great.

Also, I love that there is an intuitive GUI in the BIOS menus. Mouse and keyboard in the BIOS menus!?!?! What is this wizardry?!?!

Lastly, and this is purely an aesthetic preference, I love the matte black finish of the motherboard. That's generally not a thing I really pay attention to, but it makes me smile :)

Cons: The only thing I can really think of is the lack of a digital display on the motherboard for boot/post codes/temp. That, however, is really not a con. Just something I got really used to from my last board. As soon as I receive a replacement panel for my case (CM HAF 912), that point will be null, as I will no longer have a window in the system.

Other Thoughts: Though these points have nothing to do with this purchase, I had been gathering other parts over the last 6 months as replacements/upgrades to the former system. Seeing the performance improvements for the first two items below has absolutely made this purchase more than worth it,

- PNY 480GB SSD after both of my HDD's died (was an immediate need, so I purchased from a big box store that shall go unnamed)

- PNY Geforce GTX 950 2GB (also from the aforementioned unnamed big box store) to replace my EVGA GTX 295. This, to me, was must since I knew I wanted to upgrade to Windows 10 and nVidia had stopped releasing drivers for the 200 series quite sometime ago. I will likely transition to a Radeon RX 470 or 480 8 GB in the near future.

- Corsair CX 750M psu to replace the original 500 watt psu. The fan was slowly dying, and I really wanted a modular (if only semi) for better and easier cable management.

Last thing, Man was Newegg quick to get the mobo/ram/proc/hdd to me. I ordered on a Sunday morning, had it before noon on Wednesday!

4 out of 5 eggsThis is my first build and decided to try this mobo, I think it was a wise decision for a cheaper board.

Pros: A very straight forward mobo that supports the AMD FX-8350. So far no problems and the temp has not risen above 32 degrees in a Corsair 650D case.

Cons: So far this board is perfect for a first time build, I learned alot about what to look for in mobos while having a board that supports what I want. I installed a Cooler Master 212 Evo heatsink with Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM and the Eco can only sit one way as the RAM blocks horizontal placement.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this to anyone who wants a dependable mobo and a cheap price. Also a really nice "starter" board.
