1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money with an iBuyPower Computer

Pros: NewEgg was fine

Cons: Exceptionally poor customer service at the supervisor level, in particular Steven Wong.

Other Thoughts: My system failed (mobo) after less than 3 months. Tried to troubleshoot it myself. Had to pre-pay (actually charged) for the RMA, despite the posted policy on their website, then get reimbursed when the failed part was returned.

When that didn't fix the problem, had to send it in. Despite assurances that they didn't have many repairs at the time, it took a full 10 ten days for the repair to be complete. Then the system was returned via normal ground return. When we finally got a package back, it was NOT our system.

We notified iBuypower and a recall was sent out for our system. We've waited two weeks. The system they sent us is already back at iBP but they've successfully managed to lose our system. Called for status again today and the call was finally elevated to a customer service supervisor with the worst customer service skills I've ever experienced...Steven Wong. He conveniently claimed that, despite what his lower level employee (Brad, who was actually pretty helpful) told us, it had arrived back at iBP today and that it would take a couple days to get through receiving and get turned around back to us. No effort on his part to expedite the process, no effort to search the floor and immediately turn anything. I'm not confident the system is actually there...

Bottom line -- I will NEVER buy from them (iBuyPower) again and strongly encourage you to do the same.

5 out of 5 eggsCyberPower is well worth it if you choose quality components

Pros: The big pro of the configurator is you can pick whatever parts you want. Really, if you're not comfortable building your own or just don't feel like building your own, having CyberPower build your PC, usually, doesn't cost too much more than ordering the parts and doing it yourself.

The biggest tip I can give you is, order quality parts. A lot of people criticize CyberPower on their pre-built packages for using generic parts and it is true, that some of their budget, pre-built offerings do use generic parts. That's because people want a gaming PC and a great deal. I can't fault CyberPower for using generic parts in certain builds. If they don't, then people complain about price. You can't have both. If you want quality, you've got to pay a little more.

This is where the configurator comes in handy. You can choose whatever you want and make sure you're getting brand names for each, individual piece. Spend the extra money for each piece and get quality parts!

Cons: There's really no cons to the configurator that I can see. If you choose quality components, you're going to get a quality build.

The only con to the configurator versus buying one that is already pre-built and in stock is, sometimes it takes a week or two to get the PC, because they do need to build it from scratch. Sometimes, parts can be temporarily out of stock and your build takes a little longer. But, for the most part, you'll usually get your system in 1-2 weeks.

Other Thoughts: For the record, I did not order mine from newegg. I ordered it straight from CyberPower's website. But, the configurators are very similar. I was a little skeptical about ordering from them because I have seen some horror stories. But, horror stories come from every company, no matter where you order things. No company is perfect, but I am quite happy with my purchase so far. I got a great machine for pretty close to what it would have cost me to build it myself. I could have built it myself, but just didn't feel like ordering everything separately and having to spend a day building and setting up my PC.

3 out of 5 eggsNot as described

Pros: I really am not unhappy with this computer, but after going through my hardware I realized that almost nothing was as I ordered.

Cons: Original configuration (Total $1,316.17)
1 x NZXT Source 220 CA-SO220-01 Black Steel / Aluminum-like finish ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
1 x Generic Blu-Ray Disc Combo Drive
1 x GENERIC 1TB HDD + 120GB SSD Internal Hard Drive
1 x ASRock Z97 PRO3 MB and Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Liquid Cooling Combo
1 x G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory
1 x Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - OEM
1 x AMD R7-260X 2GB/500Watt Radeon R7 260X 2GB Video Card with 500W

What is in my tower:

1 x NZXT Source 220 CA-SO220-01 Black Steel / Aluminum-like finish ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
1 x LG Blu-Ray Disc Combo Drive
1 x GENERIC 1TB HDD + 120GB SSD Internal Hard Drive
1 x ASRock Z87 PRO3 MB and Intel Core i7-4770K 4.0GHz Liquid Cooling Combo
1 x G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB DDR3 1600 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory
1 x Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - OEM
1 x AMD R7-260X 2GB/500Watt Radeon R7 260X 2GB Video Card with 500W

So basically, I got an older mobo, a cheaper cpu. Really not happy about that.

The RAM was also installed in the wrong slot. Easy fix, but not okay on a prebuilt system.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad computer, just wish I got what I paid for.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I was expecting

Pros: Works wonderful, speedy, exactly what I was looking for for a secondary gaming comp in the house.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: Very quiet, runs games extremely well with the setup i bought. The mouse included can be twitchy at times, but for coming free with the computer it works extremely well. The computer runs at high efficiency almost constantly, the only lag i experience when gaming is serverside. I would totally recommend buying this, although i would say to definitely shell out for some of the more expensive gear, it's very worth it. My setup cost about $2,000.

Cons: I feel as though the combinations are somewhat limiting, but they all work extremely well together and i can understand that a configurator can only have so many items the manufacturer can make a deal on.

Other Thoughts: The other computer i had for the longest time was so old I would say the dinosaurs would call it a relic. It ran games okay, but only on very limiting settings. The setup I created isn't all of the most expensive parts, but a good deal of top quality parts. It runs very smoothly on max settings, im very glad i purchased it. The keyboard and mouse are in good working order, like i said though, the mouse can tend to be a little twitchy in response at times, but not too bad, still.

3 out of 5 eggsProblem on problem

Pros: Pros: I spend around two grand on this computer, picking all the top components offer (excluding the sound card)
-When the computer run, it runs beyond anything I expected.
-They setup the operating system on my solid state instead of the HDD saving me quite a bit of time.
-Download/installation on gaming is amazing

Cons: Cons: The good does not seem to out weigh the bad for the price. I have only had this computer for about two months and this is what I have discovered so far.
-Wires loosely hanging in case.
-Operating system constantly crashes no matter how many times I restore/fix it.
-Both sound plugins don't work.
-Extremely bright power light that can not be turned off(Thermaltake Case)
-monitors flash on and off, replaced the DVI cables and tried the monitors on another computer and they work fine. The Female connects on the computer seem to have something wrong(yet to look)

Other Thoughts: Other Thoughts: I will make another update about my experiences in a few months.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome cpu!!!

Pros: super fast, came in really fast. everything was up and running didn't have to re-install any of the drivers or the operating system which ive had to do with other cpu's before this one. love everything about it!!

Cons: the top usb ports are the ones I would originally always use but they are the 3.0 instead of the 2.0 so it makes it hard to run my mouse and keyboard I already had.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Computer

Pros: I wanted to purchase a nice little gaming computer at a price that would not bankrupt me.

The IBuyPower configurator provided me with the opportunity to pick and choose components and create a quite decent computer for a reasonable price.

The computer was ready to go out of the box, and has been very fast and very quiet since. Absolutely no issues playing WoW, Star Wars and Tera on ultra settings.

Cons: I got the computer in July, and so far, I have no complaints about it.
