5 out of 5 eggsHad to buy this.

Pros: Alduin is fantastic and HUGE!
Artwork is great and shows a nice insight into the game development.
Packed well.

Cons: None for me.

Other Thoughts: Love. Love. LOVE this game!
Already had a version of this but at <$80 I couldn't resist the collector's edition.
A cool collector's set as long as you have a good (and large) place to display it.
Newegg shipped it super fast as well... always a bonus!

5 out of 5 eggsCE deal too good to pass up.

Pros: After seeing a chance to grab the Collector's Edition for $90, I just had to. The PC version is great. DVD, statue, game, "parchment" map, at least 3 times the size of the poster quality paper map I received with my PS3 pre-order. I've been loving this game.

Cons: Yes the game has bugs and freezes. Yes. Bethesda is working on patches to address these issues. Sidenote: I've had the game on PS3 since release, and only had 3 freezes. over 130 hours played.

Other Thoughts: Not so much a con. Really, really big box. I thought the SW:TOR collector's box was big. It has nothing on the Skyrim box.

Why 2 versions? 1. I should have gone collector's initially. 2. when wife wants to watch tv on the HD, where I have my PS3, now I can play skyrim in my office.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy, Awesome Collectors Stuff with Aweseome Game!

Pros: Great buy at just 103 with shipping and tax! Awesome packaging that really helps protect figure. Even the styrofoam has elder scrolls etched into it, nice touches like that are plentiful. Awesome art book with very nice leather feel and detailed dvd with a bunch of behind the scenes stuff. And of course the actual game letting you do whatever you want.

Cons: box is somewhat hard to store being so big but thats bought it.

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth it at just 95 but I wouldnt and obviously didnt buy it when it was 150.

5 out of 5 eggsConsole Port? Lol.

Pros: @ the console port comment.

- The initial release had a buggy UI, this was fixed almost immidiately with a patch.

- It doesnt use the graphics card eh? and your tech level is very high? Interesting because you have not a clue what you're talking about. If you didnt have a graphics card in use, the game wouldn't run at all. It uses my gts 450 just fine.

-The initial release is bound to be somewhat buggy with so much content. The majority of these problems were fixed in the first couple weeks after the release.

-This is one of, if not THE best game to be released in the last few years.

Cons: NONE.

4 out of 5 eggsTimeless Epic

Pros: It's Elder Scrolls, an incredible enduring RPG platform that satisfies players needs for freedom, companionship and discovery.

Cons: I fall through the ground or a mountain before I can Toggle clipping; The perk system forces the player to play most of the game before being able to reap the benefits

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Alduin Statue looks amazing, book is amazing, everything is amazing and better than I expected, including the game. The collectors edition was definitely worth the money!

Cons: The menus are a little annoying, but that is too be expected. Glitches like any TES game. All in all what i expected as far as cons.

Other Thoughts: I did not have the crash to desktop issues that everyone seems to be complaining about. Don't know whats up with that.

5 out of 5 eggsGame of the year

Pros: Everything

Cons: nothing

Other Thoughts: Game of the Year. Perhaps the best game i have ever played. and i have played hundreds. 60+ fps on Ultra in most areas, some areas it dips to around 40. Uses very little cpu in my case ( 2600k ) graphics cards DEFINITELY doing lots of work ( 560 ti x2 sli )

1 out of 5 eggsConsole Port ! Console Port !

Pros: hmmmm, Newegg's service, not much else..... see below

Cons: the game is a very bad console port, the UI is horrible, you can not change keybindings, it does not use the graphic card of your PC , just the CPU and then only 2 cores, who in the world makes a PC game like that these days. this was clearly made for a console and not for a PC, you can see how bad it is if you look at other reviews on the game. Maybe in a year or 2 when the Mod community fixes these things i will look at buying it from the bargain bin.

Other Thoughts: i mean now we all know why they only used Xbox360 footage for game play, such a sham

i will never make the mistake of buying a game from
Publisher:Bethesda Softworks / Developer:Bethesda Game Studios for full value, another company to the bargain bin only list for me.

4 out of 5 eggsSkyrim Collector's Edition

Pros: Great game, worthy successor to Oblivion. Leveling is somewhat improved. It is quicker, and you don't have to worry about trying to efficiently level each skill to keep from loosing points. Dual wielding of weapons and spells. Map is nice. It is big and on quality textured paper. Nicer than the Oblivion map for sure. The book is very high quality. Alduin Statue is very nice with good detail. Cool bonus DVD. Anyone can pick a game apart, and I could pick this one apart all day. In the end, I really enjoy playing it, and will spend many hours doing so for the next few years, just as I did with Oblivion. You just have to let go of wanting a copy of Oblivion set in another part of Tamriel. I'm curious to see if the infinite quest feature is a good thing or boring.

Cons: Statue is in two parts, and required some work to fit together properly. The dragon will just sit there, but I had to flex it somewhat to make it look right. Menu is terrible compared to Oblivion. You're not looking at yourself when you select armor and weapons. It's just a menu. The constellation leveling menu is OK, but I liked Oblivion's better. Can only use hand for one thing at a time. In other words, you can't cast a spell if both hands are full. Voice acting is not the best. While leveling is improved in some ways, in others it is lacking. It seems overly simplified. Some of the textures should be better. No alternate key mapping. You map each function to ONE key. That kills me as I switch from arrows to WASD. That really kills me. Dear Talos help me. It's port from a console! (PC Gamers know what I'm talking about) Sweet Deadric princes of Oblivion, WHY? Soundtrack not included.

Other Thoughts: This is a preliminary review for anyone trying to decide if the Collector's edition is worth it. If you've got the Septims, it is worth it. I'm not sure if it is a pro or con yet, but the statue is big. It's taller than a 2L of Dr Pepper. The quality is nice, but it take up a lot of room on my desk. The book was nicer than I expected. It has a nice cover. I have special saves that I like to name so I know what they are and don't delete them by accident. You can name your save using the ~ console command. It took me a day to get used to the differences between this and Oblivion. You only level up in magic, health or stamina points, and one special skill. The rest is automatic. You can't put points into attributes like strength or luck. No classes either. In many ways it is a downgrade. I miss the attributes. Classes aren't a big deal to me. At least the pain of trying not to waiste skill increases is gone. I liked the Oblivion map much more as well.
