MSI has had a dynamic shift in the packaging it now uses with its Gaming series hardware. Instead of the whites and blues of days past you get a red and black graphic with the Gaming series badge to the right and a tribal dragon graphic on the left. At the bottom left is an indicator that this is a factory overclocked version of the MSI GTX 770 and it is equipped with MSI's own Twin Frozr cooling solution. On the back side of the package MSI illustrates the main feature set as it applies to the gamer and how best to use the GTX 770 with its supplied utilities such as the Gaming App and Predator (a part of MSI's Afterburner utility). Also discussed are the benefits of the Twin Frozr cooling solution that to be honest are not far off the mark. MSI's Military Class 4 construction is used with components that meet or exceed the MIL-STD-810G rating. Parts such as Hi-C Caps, Super Ferrite chokes, and aluminum solid capacitors all team together to improve stability, efficiency, and longevity.

MSI's Twin Frozr has been the industry defining graphics card cooler. The first Twin Frozr kicked of the dual-fan trend and today MSI stays true to its dual-fan dual-slot design where others have to resort to less effective means.

The other part that the Twin Frozr cooler uses is a large Aluminium fin grid array that provides a huge amount of surface area for cooling. Heat from the GPU is transferred to the fin grid array by virtue of heat pipes with MSI's special SuperPipe technology. SuperPipes transfer heat twice as fast as regular heat pipes enabling an MSI GAMING graphics card to stay cooler than the competition.

Futhermore, MSI provide all new Airflow Control technology on Twin Frozr. This new thermal tech. is leading airflow to heat pipe by spcial defletor on heatsink, so it can deflect more airflow to heat pipes directly. In addtion,This exclusive heatsink design is increasing the area of heatsink so that enhacing the efficiency of dissipation much more.

Military Class Component

One of the deciding factors in performance is the quality of the components used. That is why MSI only uses MIL-STD-810G certified components for its Gaming cards because only these components have proven to be able to withstand the torturous circumstances of extreme gaming and overclocking.

New Super Ferrite Chokes

New Super Ferrite Chokes use a Ferrite core that is Super-Permeable. This allows the Super Ferrite Chokes to run around 100°F (35°C) lower temperatures, have a 30% higher current capacity, a 20% improvement in power efficiency and better overclocking power stability.

N770 TF 2GD5/OC Hi-C Caps

A Hi-c CAP is a very small, but super-efficient capacitor. Besides ensuring enough spacing around a CPU socket to install large coolers, it also allows for 93% energy efficiency. Thanks to Hi-c CAP's MSI mainboards are the most energy efficient in the market.

N770 TF 2GD5/OC Solid Cap

One With their aluminum core design, Solid CAP's have been a staple in high-end mainboard designs and provides lower Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) as well as its over-10-year lifespan.

N770 TF 2GD5/OC

MSI Afterburner has quickly become the favorite overclocking software for media, overclockers and end-users. Because of its simple interface, it's easy to learn, but it packs a lot of powerful features like an integrated benchmark utility called Kombustor that can check your system performance in benchmarking mode, or run as a stability test.

Don't speak English? No problem: MSI Afterburner is translated in many languages including Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Korean! Not satisfied with the looks? Just change to one of the many different skins or create one yourself with ease!

Now this utility is also available on portable platform. Download the MSI Afterburner App from Google Play or the Apple store and start overclocking wit on your smartphone or tablet.

1 out of 5 eggsAfter one year card is cactus for $360

Pros: when it worked it was awesome. i bought this card to play world of tanks. it was a little noisy but hey thats no problem. the graphics WERE good.

Cons: After one year, i started to experience in game crashes. a few weeks later my whole system would crash. judging by the lack of noiseincrease from the fans it has stopped to increase fan rpm as the temp increases. basically it crashes everything after the temp goes past around 60degC. initally i thought it was a PSU problem. so i forked out $200 for a new 850w PSU. didnt change anything. problems exist still. so i have reinstalled my old Msi radeon HD6850 and everything runs just fine thanks very much. after reading the other comments on this product. up until now i have enjoyed good quality from Msi. now i have my doubts.....

4 out of 5 eggsGreat GPU limited to 2gb

Pros: Runs all current games at high/ultra settings

Cons: Might not run all future games in high/ultra settings due to memory constraints.

Other Thoughts: Could try to overclock the memory to get some added performance. This really helped when trying to run watch dogs on high settings.

2 out of 5 eggsDied after a year

Pros: Quiet
Great performance (when it worked)

Cons: Only lasted for a year, for what I paid for the card, I would have expected more. Warranty replacement process is closing in on a month, and from the website's status it does not look like they have touched the card.

With such close performance between hardware companies, to me the fact the warranty is taking this long will make me wary of future MSI purchases. I have already had to purchase another card, so I am not sure what I am going to do with the replacement card, thanks for the $350+ 1-year video card rental MSI...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: -Plays most games on high with 60 fps. More of the heavy games like Arma, Dayz, etc are on medium but that is normal and hard to get from a mid-high end gpu.
-Love the color, matches my theme.
-hot to the touch but the dual fans do a great job keeping the card cool and never overheating.
-Fans spin backwards to get rid of dust which is a cool feature.
-Very quiet

Cons: Only thing I can say is I hear one of the fans hitting something but that could be my bad wire arrangement in my terrible case. (No points taken off)

Other Thoughts: Well built all together, love MSI, have their motherboard and it all works great! Will be getting the 970 at the end of 2015

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card, though 2GB VRAM is annoying

Pros: This card is definitely a solid performer; it overclocks well, and any issues stamped themselves out after a while.

It definitely looks good; MSI dragons are a beautiful thing.

Cons: With my 2560x1440 monitor and the rapidly increasing demands of VRAM in games, the 770's 2GB of VRAM is definitely a limiting factor; at least 3GB would be a good idea for consumers looking to play modern games with nice textures.

Other Thoughts: Despite the VRAM limitations, I still enjoy the card extensively every day.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth the level-up

Pros: -Great heat dissipation design

-Awesome looks

-performs like a champ

Cons: -Sucks a lot of power (600W minimum recommended PSU)

Other Thoughts: For an extra $100, this is a great step-up from a GTX 760. I'm glad I decided to go with a 770 and got it for a great price ($320 on sale).

I would've liked to see a case badge included with this card, even just a "GTX inside" would've been nice.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent card

Pros: -Good Gaming Performance
-Little dust buildup

Cons: -OC Cap
-Runs warmer then other vendors

Other Thoughts: Doing this review after a solid 6 months of ownership and heavy usage. Overall this has been a good card and I haven't experienced some of the fan failures others have stated, though it tends to run 12-18c warmer than Asus's DirectCU II cards that I am used to buying.

I build PC's as a side job and have good working knowledge of vendors and one thing I can say is it is a lot quieter then Gigabytes Windforce x3 cards and also OC's worse than both Gigabyte and Asus versions, a lot worse. Even though this is factory overclocked already, usually you can squeeze out an additional 100-300mhz (2-7 FPS) more performance out of the GPU. Not with this MSi model, which I was barely able to gain an additional +30 mhz, literally not even worth the effort.

On the plus side, the Twin Frozer IV's ability to spin backwards on powerup to limit buildup works wonders. I can go almost 3x the length of time between dustings compared to EVGA, Gigabyte and Asus models. All in all this is a solid card, but between the fact it runs hotter than Gigabyte or Asus (Not nearly as hot as EVGA's cards) and low OC headroom above factory compared to other vendors, this will be my last MSi card. I will continue to stick my tried and true DirectCU II cards from Asus.

As far as gaming goes, the GTX 770 is a superb card for people that run single monitor setups and want to game at Max settings on all games. I’ve thrown everything from large MP maps in Battlefield 4 to Metro Last Light Redux without a hitch and all on absolute max settings @ 50-90FPS across all titles, but if you are still in the market for a GTX 770 for whatever reason, do yourself a favor and get the Asus DirectCU II OC edition or the Gigabyte Windforce x3 OC version instead.

5 out of 5 eggsVery fast card, amazing for 1080p

Pros: This card is great. 2GB version can handle almost any game you can throw at it on ultra settings. I haven't had an issue with this card at all in the year that I've owned it. Overclocking is great. I have my card overclocked to 1300Mhz without a problem, just make sure you know what you're doing if you plan on OCing.

Cons: Only 2GB of memory won't play all games at 1440p or 4K

Other Thoughts: Amazing card
