The SAPPHIRE 100366-2L Radeon R7 260X is powered by AMD Radeon R7 260X, the latest AMD GPU designed to take your gaming to the next level. Based on AMD generation GCN architecture and boasting support for DirectX 11.2, the Radeon R7 260X is built to play the very latest games with perfectly smooth action, even at higher resolutions. New AMD Eyefinity Technology allows you to build three-monitor environment through just two DVI and one HDMI ports, without connecting DisplayPort which is required in HD 7000 series. AMD TrueAudio Technology brings your game to life by adding more realistic environmental dynamics, sound effects, and directional audio. A rich set of AMD innovative technologies are included, such as App Acceleration, AMD PowerTune, AMD ZeroCore, and AMD HD3D technology. With these technology advancements, you'll get more than one way to elevate your gaming experience.

  • newegg DirectX 11.2 The tessellation performance on AMD Radeon R7/ R9 series is up to two times faster than the previous generation, and DirectCompute performance is also faster to accelerate advanced post-processing, filtering, and anti-aliasing techniques. Direct X11 games have never looked this good.
  • newegg Mantle There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of GCN architecture to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality. It’s a game-changing innovation developed by AMD.
  • newegg AMD TrueAudio Technology AMD TrueAudio technology brings the world’s first programmable audio pipeline marking a new frontier in realism for PC gamers. AMD TrueAudio technology empowers game developers with a programmable audio pipeline on the GPU, inviting them to put their unique artistic fingerprint on in-game audio in the same way that the programmable graphics pipeline brought unfettered artistic vision to PC graphics. Enabled games can feature more realistic environmental dynamics, a richer tapestry of sound effects, breathtaking directional audio and more. AMD TrueAudio technology enhances audio realism by simulating the human brain’s perception of real-world sound, working in concert with the user’s existing audio hardware to recreate a lifelike experience (on supported games).
  • newegg AMD PowerTune Technology AMD PowerTune is a breakthrough technology that sets an entirely new direction for maximum performance at TDP. It allows the GPU to be designed with higher engine clock speeds which can be applied on the broad set of applications that have thermal headroom.
  • newegg AMD Stream Technology Accelerate the most demanding applications with AMD Stream technology and do more with your PC. AMD Stream Technology allows you to use the teraflops of compute power locked up in your graphics processer on tasks other than traditional graphics such as video encoding, at which the graphics processor is many, many times faster than using the CPU alone.
  • newegg AMD App Acceleration AMD App Acceleration is a set of technologies designed to improve video quality and enhance application performance. Full enablement of some features requires support for OpenCL, DirectCompute, or DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA).

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Got what I paid for. Came with a 6 pin power cable.

Overclocked easily to 1160 gpu 1680 memory (6720 total) netting a gain of 162 on Unigine Heaven benchmark. Maybe could have gotten more, but I don't really have the time or patience to try to get a 0-5% gain.

Cons: None. My expectations were met with this product.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: I'm not going to lie I went with this card because I was building a computer on a budget. I planned on upgrading it as soon as I had the money to do it. After using the card for both work and gaming I have to say my plans to upgrade have been squashed. The card keeps up with the games I play (DayZ standalone, Civ5, XCOM, watchdogs, ETC....) and I can set the graphics as high as the games allow. I know most of you are saying those aren't super high graphic games but let's be real here the games have great graphics and are definitely common ones (or similar to) that people play. If you combined this card with the right PC then you will have yourself a very nice gaming/work computer.

Cons: As I mentioned in a previous review of my Fatality mother board I have had an issue that I'm still trying to work through where when my computer goes unused but turned on for an extended (couple days) time period when I turn the monitor on the video card doesn't recognize it being on. obviously this could be a video card issue, monitor issue, or mother board issue. As I said I am still working through this. so for the meantime this is a con. I will update this as soon as I determine which piece is causing the issue

Other Thoughts: Great video card especially for the price

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap gpu I used for a friends $500 pc build

Cons: obviously it won't have the power of higher end cards but its 119.99, it doesn't get any cheaper than that

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Mid-Range Card!

Pros: It runs all my games at 10880p no problem!
All games were running at max settings at around60fps ( only a couple of titles like bf4 and crysis 3 i had to turn off anti aliasing to get 60 fps)
If u are wanting to for sure max out every single game i recommend the r7 270x.
My Build:
Fx 4300
r7 260x 2gb
4gb ram
wd 1tb hard drive
asus m5a78L-M LX PLUS AMD3+ motherboard
source 210 white case

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Very good gpu in the mid range section.
best bang for the buck

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: I build my own computers, and have worked in computer sales and custom design.

Cons: I do a lot of picture editing and digital design. This card does exactly what I need and runs smoothly. I have done some heavy picture editing and some very complex designs, with a good speed and function from this card. My last card was old, and even though it handled the work, it was very slow. It slowed the speed of my computer in doing these projects. This card has increased the speed significantly. Excellent product.

Other Thoughts: This card for a basic in what I am doing has exceeded my expectations. I am very pleased with that. I am now thinking of running two of them in my system.

5 out of 5 eggsGood entry-level card

Pros: Inexpensive, available in single or dual-DVI out plus HDMI and Displayport, runs games at medium to high settings

Cons: Power-hungry compared to cards like the 750ti

Other Thoughts: This is one of the best entry-level cards you can get for around $100. I've installed half a dozen of these so far and no performance or reliability issues so far. Performance is solid in line with its price and it incorporates useful AMD display technology like Eyefinity and support for OpenGL / CL and of course Direct X 12. Design is a little plain and the cooling solution is just adequate. The plastic shroud feels flimsy but does an OK job routing the air and results in a lightweight card, no worries about it sagging like some with metal shrouds. Because it's built on the Bonaire GPU it does use more pwer than newer designs, definitely don't use in conjunction with a cheap power supply. For the price it's worth a look.

1 out of 5 eggsCrapped out after less than 6 months

Pros: Affordable. Works ok on a single monitor setup.

Cons: After less than 6 months of use, I started to get very bad screen tearing on my second monitor, so watching videos and playing any kind of game is pretty much out of the question.

After contact Sapphire to get it serviced, they told me I was responsible for the cost of shipping in getting it to them. To me that's unreasonable for a product less than 6 months old.

Other Thoughts: I don't recommend this product. There are better, more reliable brands at this price point.

I'm able to play most games on medium to high settings, and there are comparable NVIDIA cards for as much or less than this one that will outperform and likely outlast this.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks after some problem-solving

Pros: Good bang for your buck on performance.
Works well 99% of the time (see Other thoughts)

Cons: Screen blackouts during low intensity use
Drivers are bad
Firmware has a defect
I'm not the only one with these problems
See other thoughts for details, please!

Other Thoughts: At first I gave this card a five star review. I saw all the comments about bad drivers and what not and explained that I didn't have any of these problems. But I had that review removed because now I've experienced them:

Everything would be working fine, then the screen would randomly go black. My PC would still be running, but the screen would just go black. Only a hard reset would fix it. After some research I discovered that I'm hardly the only person to experience this. It is a problem common throughout many r7 260x graphics cards. Per newegg rules, I can't provide the hyperlink, but on Tom's Hardware there are many forum threads about this. The biggest and most helpful is titled "Sapphire R7 260x black screen!!!." Here's the gist:

Lots of people experiencing these blackouts. They happen when using the card at low intensity, and they happen randomly. It has to do with either the drivers or the actual firmware. Asus (which makes a card with the r7 260x) releases an updated BIOS for their card and it fixes the problem. One Sapphire owner contacts support and receives an updated BIOS for the Sapphire card (the one I'm reviewing). He/she provides the BIOS as a download, BUT it's not available on the Sapphire website yet (as of my writing this). Supposedly, this updated BIOS fixes the problem, but I myself haven't tried it because I'm not comfortable flashing the BIOS. I'm using the other fix people discovered -- it's easier and safer in my opinion: You limit your "memory clock" setting to never exceed 750MHz. You can do this in the AMD Catalyst Control Center. This fixes the problem for me and many others -- no more blackouts.

So again, the 2 solutions to blackouts:

1. HARDER: Download updated BIOS from that forum, if you trust it. Again, I haven't tried. Flash it.
2. EASIER: Limit memory clock speeds to 750MHz. Problem fixed.

Possible #3: Contact Sapphire and ask for updated BIOS and detailed instructions on how to flash it.

If I didn't find this fix, I definitely would have returned it. But now that it's fixed, the card remains a good value for the price. I just can't give it more than three stars. Hope this helped some of you.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Card for the Money

Pros: Great Card for the money. Plays Most games on high

Cons: Extremely Buggy Drivers & they get worse with each Update. Would have rated 5 stars if it wasn't for that.
Be prepared for Stuttering, Black Screens & annoying 60mhz Flickering.
